- I have a Toyota back in my garage!! Full build on a 2021 Toyota Hilux space cab. It’s not actually mine though. One of my mates poorly organised to get his Hilux built whilst away and it fell through so I jumped in to save the day.
In this build we take an almost brand new space cab N80 Hilux and turn it into an offroad weapon with all the cool gear.
• PSR Ambush front bar
• TJM Torq winch
• SCF fat boy rock sliders with skid plates
• PSR 1” body lift
• Meredith Metalworks stainless snorkel - short entry
The cool gear it already had on it
• Fox 3n2” lift valved from mikes shock shop
• Blackhawk UCAs
• Diff drop - Zoom innovations
• Method race wheels NV 305 in bronze
• Maxxis Razr AT 265/70r17
• Stedi 3303 Pro 39” light bar
This has to be one of the coolest space cab n80 Hilux running around now.
Nice one man, help ya mates out...
Great video mate, overall fitment of everything looks great. What work was required to get the ambush bar lights to work?
What’s advantages of lifting the body and tray ? I might be missing something ? Why wouldn’t you lift with suspension cheers 👍
Clearance for bigger tyres so they don’t scrub the guards. The suspension on this is lifted 3n2 as well
@@HappyGoTravel cheers mate keep up the good work 👍
Is the dpf gone in this Hilux? Sounds good!
DPF is still in. This is completely untouched factory exhaust. All the sound is just induction sounds from the stainless snorkel
Love the lux and the bar. Question, can you mount spot lights on the bar?
You could but they’d have to be slim as the profile of the bar is really tight to the front of the Lux
@@HappyGoTravel cheers mate appreciate it.
more of hilux content 👌
This rig might make it to a few trip vids eventually ✌️
@@HappyGoTravel sweet! looking forward to it
what did you do with the front camera from the factory bumper?
Hey mate any chances on asking your mate how the body lift is going, I have the exact same 1 inch body lift waiting to be installed just hesitant to do so cause I have heard bad about body lifts such as harnesses pulling and stuff, did you notice anything bad when you installed the 1 inch body lift, cheers
Hey mate. No issues what so ever with the 1” blocks.
hey mate, did you have to do much drilling for the winch to go behind the bar?
Hey mate no drilling at all. They’re all just a standardised bolt pattern
Hey mate. Love the build. Did you have to do any drilling for the bullbar to make it fit?
Cheers
Thanks mate✌️ just the two holes on the bullbar brackets that lock the bar and brackets into place once it’s positioned.
@@HappyGoTravel cheers mate. Was hoping dont have to drill through them. Gotta do it properly
@@isaacchan725 the only thing to really be carful of is the bumper cut, I found the instructions didn’t cover this front end for the grill.
@@HappyGoTravel thanks for the advice mate. Will be careful when i cut it.
@Happy Go Travel were you able to drill the holes with the bullbar still attached or did you have to remove the bar once test fitted?
Where you buy from
What part? I’m pretty sure the lux just come from Maitland. It belongs to a good mate of mine
@@HappyGoTravel Just got my first 4 wheel and want to build it up like this but dont know the best place to get parts, did you get online
@@Kdjoao oh fair enough, this thing did come up sweet.
Suspension came from mikes shock shop
Bullbar from PSR
rock sliders from SCF
Wheels and tyres from the wheel deal
Body lift from PSR
Winch from TJM
Lights from Stedi
Snorkel from Meredith metal work
There’s really no one shop to get all this gear from. There are a few rig builders like BAW automotive that can do a build like this.
I personally think the best way is work out what gear you want the look online to find the best prices. The labour cost on all this gear would be around the 3-4K mark. You will be surprised at what you can do yourself. And there are plenty of groups, UA-cam vids etc if you get stuck on something.
I fit my first bullbar 10years back because I didn’t want to wait a month for the shop to do it and I haven’t looked back
