This episode looks at Eddsworld, the phenomenon started by Edd Gould, one animator in his bedroom involving his friends as much as possible. Since his passing, the torch has been passed on to his friend Tom Ridgewell (Tomska) to continue creating the series.

Paultervoorde inspired me to draw better, but actually Edd gould is the main reason why I began to draw because he inspired me, the style was so good that I tried to follow his steps, I became a fan since 2010.
Before eddsworld, I always sucked at drawing, and I hated drawing. When suddenly a video called WTFuture appears in youtube at the recommended videos section, I was curious about the video because of the style. When I watched it, holy crap, I started to watch every single episode and comic without stopping. Today I love drawing stuff and I couldn't stop making more drawings because of the inspiration that eddsworld gave me, Edd is and will gonna be always rememberEDD. Thank you Edd. Thank you Paul. I hope the show stays alive for a long time.

I never knew Edd so I can't know how it feels to lose him but his animation was one of the most funny things I have seen and I wish he was still alive.

Edd was and still is my greatest inspiration. His videos were amazing and I wanted to start making animations too. I never understood how he did it, I thought he used paint, but then I was like, that's impossible, he used Flash so I got it too and now I'm going to make animations too. And if I ever get lots of views and subscribers, I'll thank Edd for it. Edd you are my greatest inspiration and you will always be, may you rest in peace wherever you are.

crispy owl , I'm a month late but maybe this can help...
his tablet is a really old cintiq! (I don't think that specific version is available anymore) Which is Pretty much the best companion for any digital artist, they set you back a few thousands pounds...but they have a real long life (as shown by the fact that Paul has edds) and make everything so much easier.
as for the software, he was using flash, just like edd always did however many animators 'mod' the typical flash software to suit them as it can't fulfill what they need it to anymore.

Wow, these are like the most awesome creative people with true personality, not written personalities, but an actual great real-life story that really connects to people. These guys were such an inspiration to me, and the reason I got into the animation field at all. I was absolutely devastated when I found out that Edd died, I make crap videos now, but I hopein a few years or so, they will get better. Keep up the amazing work guys, they really changed my life C:

Eddsworld is my childhood and Edd's the main reason why i do animation and comics. He just inspires me to persue the talent that i didn't know i have.

It's not weird at all that Tom keeps Edd's ash's in his office.. Not at all....
Evidently, Tom and Edd were really close, just like Edd and Matt. So I can assume Edd wouldn't mind. Close family and friends keep the ashes in their home, and hell, it's as wierd as any other person keep their family members ashes on the mantle place.

Edd was the main reason I started animating when I was very young, I'm 20 now and yeah sure I haven't attempted to go anywhere with my animation skills...But there is something I never told anyone before, when I heard that Edd had died, I lost that feeling, I can't describe it...I still animate, and sure I've posted some things, but I've lost that part of me that wanted to be famous, I so wanted to work with Tom, Bing, Matt and Edd...The day I heard Edd got sick, I literally stopped animating for a while, constantly checking to see if there was anything new about Edds condition.
Tom, Bing, Edd and Matt never knew me, and yeah I have attempted to speak to them but, I guess through all the fan mail they got, they just never saw my questions...
So now, me and my fianceé have been making gaming videos, but deep down I wish I had that same motivation to animate and upload my work as I did when Edd was still around, even though we were never friends, we never spoke, I felt like he and I would've gotten along great.
Tom was my inspiration for uploading videos again, when I started getting into the short films he did with Bing, I thought "Hey, they're pretty damn funny!" Then when I saw "Toms day out" I just realized, you don't need to plan something funny, life plans it for you.
But, I digress.
Edd is and always will be the reason I started animating all those years ago.
CraiZen Creations I'm sorry, Edd inspired me to start my own series of comics. But his death didn't make me less determined, in fact it made me more. I feel like Edd wouldn't want people to waste time thinking about his tragic end, it's like Tom said, he was a workaholic. He'd probably be pushing you to keep trying and to not give up. I'm sorry if this comment seems at all rude, I didn't mean it that way. Just giving my opinion. But I think you should keep trying. Not for fame, not for Edd, but for yourself.

CraiZen Creations Dude, the future of animation lies here on the net, we have to bring full tv-quality programming in terms of animation to the net as media formats continue to coalesce and the web swallows all. Now is a beautiful horizon for all animators, and you sound like you're further along than me. The longest thing I've animated so far is my 4 second channel intro, but that won't stop me. If I'm this fired up and still have it, maybe you can have it too, if you can find a new source of inspiration if not yourself and your own work. It's time to stop letting others be your hero, time to stop watching other's content, start making the art you want to see.

I first learned about Eddsworld in about 2010. I loved it. It was a classic in my book. And I stopped watching it for a little in 2012 and found out that Edd died. I couldn't believe it. I finally came to terms with it. And then I recently started animating in dedication of Edd. Rest in Peace Edd Gould. You will be missed. Drink a lot of cola up there for us! And try to have Eddsworld up there for us as well!

I just wanted to say that Edd, Matt and Tom has been a huge source of inspiration for me and my friend.
We've both started our secondary half in Upper School. I'm studying humanitarian subjects and my friend is studying media.
We were both bullied during middle school and EddsWorld was one of the things that brought us together and gave us the strength to endure the bullying.
EddsWorld has been a huge part of our lives and has been something that cheered us up during tough times.

When Edd died it was a huge impact on me because when I watched his channel my depression left for a bit and I always wanted to thank him so I guess I'll take this moment for others to know right now
