Yung nagtanong na born again daw is also wrong sa interpretation niya ng rock. As well as the catholic interpretation. When Jesus said "On this rock I will build my church" He is not refering to peter or either sa faith and belief ni peter. Jesus is refering to himself as the rock "Petra" in greek which means large rock. In context ang kausap ni Jesus dito hindi lang si pedro kundi lahat ng disipulo. And lahat ng ito ay hebrew who knows well the old testament scriptures that when Jesus refer to himself as the rock. They know he is refering to himself as the Lord of the Psalmist in Psalm 31:3, Psalm 71:3, Psalm 91:2. Even in 2 Samuel 22:2. Remember the context of this chapter 16 of Matthew, Jesus is asking his disciples kung sino siya. And this is part also of confirming the correct answer of peter. When Jesus said on this rock I will build my church. He is the rock. The foundation and the cornerstone of church.
What? Jesus is not the rock him self..The Rock is Peter..Peter or Petra in Greek is big rock.. Jesus said..U r rock in on this rock I will build my Church..sana Ang sinabi Ng Panginoong Jesus Cristo..I am rock in on this rock I will build my Church..sana ganun,Peru Hindi e..Ang Sabi niya..You are Peter or Rock in on this Rock I will build my Church..Sa salitang Aramaic Ang Big Rock ay KEPHA..You are Kepha in on this KEPHA I will build my Church.. Kaya c Saint Peter Ang Rock.. Not Jesus Christ himself..
@@coffeetam2275 Definitely you will not understand the message of Jesus when you just read and refer only to one verse. Read the whole context of Jesus statement beginning from verse 13. And here on verse 18 when Jesus said upon this rock I will build my church. Is all in connection when Jesus ask His disciples whom He is. That He is Christ and as well the rock whom the church will be built. I ask you if Peter is the rock and the foundation of a church. It does mean he is the founder of the church and he is the head of it? If that is what you and catholics belief. No wonder you call your popes the head of church. Jesus is the Head of Church. Not peter nor popes whom you called successor of peter.
@@decente8774yes don’t go over somewhere else but exhaust whatever is the meaning of the verse/s you want to explain v18 using the context either before or/and after.. you see the before context is in v17 Jesus praise or blessed Peter first before Jesus assigned or named him as Rock ( Greek ) and upon this rock He will build His church… - and so that’s it??? NO.. in the after context, Jesus then give Peter the responsibility or authority to loose and bound here on earth in v 19… make sense now? That’s is why you/ each need to look for the church that has this authority to loose and bound….
