If Steve Earle approves it, you know it sounds and plays killer!! would love to get one of these geetars! You know, knowing that Steve Earle is still with us and out there playing great music somewhere, warms my cold heart, because we could have lost him so easily a while back!!! Here's to a long and musical life Mr. Steve Earle!!✊
Cool. Are those using the sinker mahogany and how is the neck thickness? Not nut width. Thickness as in like .85 at 1 and .95 at 12? Insert the numbers as appropriate. Is it v shape etc?
I'm very interested in this guitar, I have a partially torn rotator cuff and the deep body of my dreadnaught has become to uncomfortable. What is the scale length of this guitar?
I've wanted one since I first heard him talk about it back when! Wonder if I can afford it... Martin should have made it a thing, but I'm glad Gruhn's stepped in and did it.
I’m a sucker for Martin guitars and I’m a sucker for black guitars. I also prefer guitars without a lot of bling, or whatever you’d like to call them. AND I love Steve Earle! Needless to say I already fell in love with this guitar the minute I saw the thumbnail of this video. Unfortunately, because I live in Europe and I don’t have the money just lying here somewhere, there’s no way that my love for this guitar will be answered. 😢
Cool. Sounds great. And all the stuff about the practicality of the mahogany makes sense. But i do take exception to the "Harder for roadies to break" comment. I've been a backline guy for 40 years and never damaged a guitar. Airlines yes, roadies no.
Any chance of a version without electronics at maybe a lower price point? Comes in quite a bit higher than Martin's 15s. Maybe this one has a full Dovetail neck or something?
@@soofitnsexy Hello!! Yeah, this is a 0000, which they don't make in the 15 series. The 0000 has the same depth as the 00 and 000, but it has a 16" top (which is a little bigger than a dread even). I think the asking price is $2500 for these Gruhn ones.

I have a 00018 modern Deluxe. THE Abolone is so dark it blends in with the ebony fretboard you can barely see it. GOOD idea with the white pearl dots.

Steve would be cool even if he played a Yamaha.
