Happy 7th Anniversary, Undertale!
It may be a bit cheesy to say, but this game is extremely special to me. Not only does it totally win my heart with it's simple yet effective narrative, goofy characters and amazing music, but it also has literally changed my life. I can say with full honesty that this channel would not have been as much of a success without it, I wouldn't have met so many of my UA-cam friends such as Nah Tony here without it. The game was there in the early stages of me and my girlfriend's relationship. I don't know if there will ever be another game with the effect this one had. Thanks to Toby Fox, Temmie and the rest of their team for creating Undertale.
To celebrate, I wanted to finally cover one of my favourite boss themes from the game- ASGORE! The song captures the energy of "I don't want to hurt you, but the fate of the kingdom depends on the outcome of this fight" so well, and I wanted to try and preserve it in this remix! I showed what I came up with to Anthony in a discord call and without even really saying anything, he started playing along and sending me all of his recordings! Nah, but really, Tony went absolutely CRAZY with the guitars, and this keeps the tragic tone of the original song so well, this is such a genuinely incredible remix; wonderful tribute to UNDERTALE, happy 7th anniversary!

Games don't need to be AAA or with limitless replayability to become special forever in your heart. Undertale is a perfect proof. Thanks for the remix, Anthony killed it with the guitar and you as always with your oomph style
Well, Undertale is somewhat replayable, tons of different values the game can give you.

about that limitless replayability, undertale has many different routes and a bunch of different dialogue, and is easily moddable.
Asgore is probably my favorite character. He cares about his people and does his best to serve as a beacon of hope for them and is willing to pay the price for it, but not without guilt.
This remix perfectly captures everything, the potrayal of "Asogre the broken king" and "Asogre the future destroyer of man" duality really shines through
@@Ramzi65ok the title of "broken king" goes hard.
Even in Deltarune, the whole "trying to make things right even if the means seem unfitting" thing persists, but in a much more mundane way. In both games, he just wants to make up for his failures for those he cares about, even if his attempts to do so are cringe-inducing at best or truly evil at worst. He is just trying his best.
IKR.. sans is soo freaking overrated.
Asgore sacrificed us own morality for his entire Kingdom
Ignoring Deltarune (its a separate canon), Asgore is probably my favorite character from Undertale. The way he's hinted at, both feared and respected, only to meet him as he's watering his damn flowers.
At first, he's jovial, almost glad to receive a visitor. Then he realizes you're no monster, he is. Then all the guilt and responsibility comes flooding back and he realizes he cant dodge the inevitable any longer.
The Asgore fight is less against Asgore vs You, and more Asgore's Responsibility vs his Morality.
Its why using items that remind him of his past actively weaken him, such as Toriel's Pie.
Not to mention, if he *really* wanted you dead, as in no hesitation, I dont see why he wouldnt just absorb the 6 other human souls (knowing the player, it still wouldnt be enough, point being in Pacifist, Neutral, and Genocide, he still holds back even if it ends up killing him)
I am sad that even in deltarune Toby can't give the poor Agore a happy life :(

I think it *would* be enough. Flowey could never beat Asgore, and Flowey isn't humble. However, the souls still might rebel.

@@milljump4845 I believe it depends on the route. In neutral they might side with the human, in geno Asgore, and pacifist the fight never really happens. Then again, the souls might have realized that Asgore has good intentions. It's all up to speculation and we don't really have enough info to decide.
Easily the most underrated Undertale boss theme, ASGORE is probably the most emotionally resonant boss theme but it kind of gets overshadowed by the (also really great) other songs. Glad to see it get the attention it deserves!

This now marks around a year since I discovered this legendary game. I've grown a lot as a person since then, discovering what I really love. Undertale truly has changed my life. I'm not sure where I would be today without it. And this song 100%, no, *200%* does it justice!
