People mistaken this as a camera, Canon made a mistake by branding it as "Powershot" - which is what they called their cameras. Most camera review sites gave it poor reviews because of the lacklustre image quality. It is first and foremost a digital monocular, with the photo and video recording ability - a bonus.
This device was launched in 2020, it was initially only sold in Japan (that's why it's Made in Japan). It was targeted at the Japanese consumers who were supposed to attend the Tokyo Olympics events that year. The pandemic and Olympics being postponed caused the sales to plummet. Canon repackaged this device and sold it in the US market the following year, but they categorized it as a camera - which was a big mistake. They should have branded it as a pocket size digital "telescope" since most people aren't familiar with monocular.
