I’m not sure about anyone else, but, lyrically (of course), this album seems like it’s talking about leaving an abusive relationship, whether it be with family or friends. I know that a lot of hardcore fans don’t really like it because they’re “going soft”, but I think it fits the message of the album; getting away from the anger, the hate, the self-loathing, and being free from it and learning that what happened was normal, nor was it healthy.
I resonate with this album strongly, and I often have to try not to cry because of how real and personal the words feel to me.

This album was dedicated basically to his divorce he was going through with his wife, from what I heard. I think people look past that and just go "this sux I want the poison again". I think it is really lovely and was the first album I listened to when I went through my break up, and whether it is an unpopular opinion or not...it's my favourite album of theres.
You can hear the pain in his voice. This is a very powerful song.

freddo101 meh, I think having their same sound for a sixth album wouldn't be refreshing. As much as I like them, they've gotta change their sound up
freddo101 I agree. There’s nothing refreshing about another metal band incorporating electronics into their formula. It’s overdone and sounds like all the other mediocre modern metal/hard rock. What ever happened to bands making music true to their genre, rather than just pandering to popular trends? Another example would be Red’s new album, or Asking Alexandria’s. The list goes on and on and on.
Sincerely, i don't have any problem with bands changing their sound, all of them are still amazing to me.

Am I the only one who likes the album so far? I know it's different from everything the band has done in the past, but change isn't bad as long as the artist do something crearive with it. So far they've kept the melodic side of what made Bullet Bullet in the first place, the incorporations of electronics into their sound just compliments the riffs rather than drowning them.
Not their best work, but it's still pretty good record on its own. No matter what, i'll keep listening to Bullet. 🤘

I like it as well, I think it's good they tried to experiment to keep things fresh. Now there's a bigger variety of BFMV songs to fit for different moods

Bullet for my Valentine EP (2004) - 9/10 “Hand of blood” is still a banger.
The Poison (2006) 9.5/10 Strong 1st album and I was rocking “Her Voice Resides” all throughout elementary school.
Scream Aim Fire (2008) - 10/10. Everything was amazing. “Waking the Demon” and “Hearts Burst into Fire” are the epitome of that album👌🏼.
Fever (2010) - 8.5/10 I do remember I wasn’t as satisfied when I first heard it but over time it grew on me especially w/ “Bittersweet Memories”😎.
Temper Temper (2013) - 5/10 You could tell their record label told them what to write; and making a “sequel” to Tears Don’t Fall? Cmon, they can do better.
Venom (2015) - 8/10 it was pretty cool to hear them going back to their original sound😯, but lets mix it up you know.
Gravity (2018) - 8.5/10 I love seeing bands doing their thing and making music that doesn’t sound the same again and again. Seriously, go out and socialize with people with different music tastes and open your mind up to other music genres and you’ll realize why “heavy” music isn’t the only music on the planet. Music never expires and you’re free to listen to their older stuff whenever

If your a heavy band you make heavy music. If you wanna hear soft shit listen to a different band that makes that genre. But when to change your genre you should change your band name too. I'm a metal head but I listen to all kinds of music from death metal to gangster rap to reggae to dungeon synth, to oldies. If I wanna hear a sad song I'll listen to the smiths or the cure. When I listen to bullet for my valentine I wanna hear something heavy not this shit they made, this isn't bullet for my valentine anymore

Honestly im impressed. Disappointed personally that there isn't any fast paced song like waking the demon or Alone but overall this is a very complete and solid album and I absolutely love how Matt just crushes every verse and chorus!

I really don't understand the hate for this album. Bands do different things all the time, it's not like they dropped all the rock out of it.
I have started to accept this album for what it is rather than what I hoped it was. It's still not great to me, but this album was definitely needed in their discography. Also, as someone mentioned in Don't Need You's video, this isn't their shittiest record, it's the record for you shittiest days. I love that

We all do, sadly. This new album, looking at it objectively, is actually pretty good. If I didn't know Bullet before, I'd like it. I mean, I still like it, but it's hard listening to them change. I'm sure the screams just kick their ass anymore after over a decade of doing it. Cocaine can only help so far.

Syco Fire are people not allowed to have an opinion?😂 I’ve showed this album to all my mates who like pop and they still say it’s too heavy and stuff like that, yes this album has a pop vibe to it and yes bullet has gone away from the metal core genre. Personally I really like this album, and just because I like it doesn’t mean I’m suddenly not a metal fan, I listen to a lot of different music. From panic at the disco, to system of a down, to slipknot, and I love all different songs for different reasons, I love “the end” from poison because it’s slow and really heavy aswell. But I love this because his voice just gives me goosebumps and it is beautiful. Just because people like their new stuff doesn’t make them not a fan of bullet. It’s just an opinion chill the fuck out. If I want to relax I’ll listen to this, if I want to punch someone in the face I’ll listen to people=shit live London 2002. A concert that I actually fucking went to. So just stfu and listen to the music you enjoy and stop hating on people for liking bullets newer stuff
