He played his heart out last season in a mediocre team and his passion on the pitch was infectious. I have watched the farewell message on the club's website, and it sounds as if his Mrs has put the pressure on. He's done the right thing by us, and we've made some money. If he had stayed, with the family moving away, the off-field stuff could well have affected his performances. Not sure about selling to a direct rival for this season but if he wanted to leave you can only sell to parties that are interested at the right price. Shame really. I'm sure he'll score against us, ex-Addicks always seem to, and hope the fans give him a warm welcome back at the Valley when we play Brum. Since his outgoing we have made a couple of good signings up front and we have Miles on the way back. I think overall we are stronger.
Good luck next season guys, I’m a Birmingham fan. I am not expecting to be winning the league by Christmas certainly. Agree that with the team we are building should be up there but the turmoil of the last 12 years will take another year to sort I feel. But a top 6 finish and I’ll be happy.
I think that we need to respect the league and understand that it will be tough however, I think anything less than autos is a failure imo. I wouldn’t be devestated with just top 6 but I really think that we should be getting autos.

As a Birmingham fan I feel your pain. It's never nice to lose your top players. I hope Godden fills the gap and we both get promoted. We've been run like shit for the last decade and just when we finally get decent owners a piece of stupidity gets us relegated. It is a complete rebuild for us so to all those talking easy promotion probably need to be less bullish. I'm just looking forward to seeing us win more games and visiting some grounds I haven't been to.

Why is one player going a disaster, he has gone for family reasons, you can't blame the board for this.. we have made good money got in two good strikers onwards and upwards... not 1 player is bigger than the club
I don’t blame the board at all. It was May’s decision. But when you take out a player of May’s quality from a squad that is already struggling to score, it’s a problem. Yes we’ve got two strikers in, but Godden is past his prime and Ahadme has had one good season at this level. I’ll back them both and I’m happy to be proved wrong, but May going is a big dent in our bid to challenge this year.
I think it could be a blessing in deguise, he scores goals in poor sides, when they play to he's strengths. Defending starts from the front, and last year we where awful!
