It's both a yes and no from me. Yes- we are seeing huge fights and shows from him that we are excited about, fighters are making good money and that's all positive. No- for many fans they are missing out on quality local shows and when we get them I think they no longer offer the same top fighters or fights. Most fans ( I am assuming here) cannot afford to travel to Saudi and Saudi fights are mainly PPV which further affects fans. Great discussion👌
Thank you! And thanks for you view on the matter. We shall see what next years brings but I am hoping an big improvement on UK shows in quantity and quality! Fingers crossed!
@@SteveTalksBoxingX You are quite right, that was my concern. Turki is drawing a lot of folks to tune in to boxing, but maybe choking off some of the less popular cards that FEED the higher tiers. We'll know in five years!
100% because Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn can't afford it, and before Turki, it was about them two. Their egos was pretty much the sport. They dont have the social media skills of Jake Paul in any world, because boxing is lacking there massively - so yes, they are now subservient to Turki Alalshikh and its good for fans. Would you like to go back to boxing before Turki? silly videos about Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren which only 5k people care about?
plus, NEVER getting the fights we want to see, unless its domestic, so unappealing to the masses - fights where the fighters are practically 'abused' for the level of wages they receive compared to the risk undertaken. Turki pays fighters properly, maybe the question should be, does boxing need promoters or are fighters better off self promoting like Conor Benn, then they can ignore the silly belts and all that risk, and negate it for an easy risk free MILES better fight, the masses care more about.
That is soooo true! Turki brings the money and do the promoters really care??? I don't think so. But I am optimistic for UK shows next year and hoping it will be a good year.
@@SteveTalksBoxingX Exactly... Steve, another question, why would the real fighters want to mess around with belts which don't pay when Jake Paul has dwarfed the wages of fighters who risk serious brain injury... Theres one person who DOES NOT need Turki, Frank or Eddie, or Bob, or Oscar, thats JAKE PAUL the boxing business daddy, one of the very best paid 'boxers' in history
@@NickyFootyBoxing Exactly that! Look at Tommy Fury. He earns more money in one fight than most pro boxers throughout there entire career. Can't blame him as its big money business at the end of the day!
What does everyone else think, is Turki Alalshikh good for UK boxing?

@@DBCHeavyweightBoxing yes he is making the fights happen for sure but you have to have a look a the long term effect it may have on UK fight scene.
