I would actually do a little bit of a different build for zoro Human(variant) feat: monastery weaponry: classifieds all monk weapons as unarmed attacks allowing for monk attacks to be used with them. MultiClass fighter x monk -Fighter 1st: fighting style: two weapon fighting + second wind 2nd: action surge 3rd: battle mater -Monk (4th) 1st: martial arts + unarmored defense (5th) 2nd: ki + unarmored movement (6th) 3rd: kensei monk: kensei melee weapon: katana + deflect missiles Now on your turn with both katana you can attack once with your main weapon then use your bonus action to attack with flurry of blows, as not only is your katana considered a monk weapon thanks to kensei, but also can be used with ki attacks thanks to monastery weaponry. Thus allowing for three weapon attacks turn 1 and then action surge for another 3 attacks. Then thanks to battle master, they can be enhanced with superiority die to do even more damage or have other effects, similar to Zoro's special moves. Then with later levels you can add in other feats and with two more level in fighter, he can now do two main hand attacks and two off hand attacks, then action surge for a total of 8 weapon attacks, at the coat of 2 ki and a action surge.
seeing so many anime swordsmen builds really puts my hopes up for Shadow, From the Eminence in Shadow great work on the video though, always love the creativity behind these builds!
This is what I like about your builds. You find ways to get to the best out of them without an insane amount of multiclassing which is something I was never in any real favor of.
I don't mind some multiclassing as long as there's a reason for it, but when a person multiclasses just for becoming overpowered, it's not as much fun.
I recently made a Ussop build for my dnd campaign. I'd like to see your take on building Ussop! Can you create him next? I'm really loving your video!!
@ Got him up to level 5 so far, nobody appears to recognise the inspiration for the character 😁. He’s been very good in fights (of course), not been knocked out once. Even managed to cut his way out of a kraken!
I always felt that zoro had at 2 lvls in Barbarian for unarmored defense with Con, dangerous sense, and Rage for his Bandana moments. Also something he can fire off his flying sword Slashes. Like eldritch blast or something
I'm a fan of homebrew in certain scenarios, but I try to steer away from them in most of my build videos just because I want to make sure my builds are a useable at as many tables as possible.
One character I'd love to see you make would be Kefka from FF VI. I was thinking a Cestisial Warlock with either a multiclass into Sorcerer for the metamagic or take the Metamagic Adept feat. Love to see where you would take it
I think it would be awesome if you tried to create Naofumi Iwatani (The Shield Hero) in DnD. It's one of my favorite anime's and I think it would be a good challenge.
I actually have a very different way of building Zoro. When I built this I was going off of Zoro’s demonic aura which frightens people. I go for mostly conquest paladin with two levels of barbarian.
Hmmm...gives me an idea for a character that is a Fighter Paladin Ranger with Fighting Initiate. I think some Archetypes give Additional Fighting Styles
Something cool you can do for extra damage is grab the Marital Adept feat and or Fighting Initiate get Superior Technique,we just need a superiority die and the trip attack maneuver. With strength before death you and rapid strike, you can get an extra 2 attacks! Use trip attack and if it works, prone enemies have melee attack rolls made against them and you still keep your bonus action for attacks!
@dnd builds : fighting spirit is at the cost of your bonus action BUT on lvl 20 use bonus action to have advantage and do 4 attacks as your action THEN action surge and invoke rapid strike (no action reqiured) and make 5 attacks for the 9 sword combo
true, but if you can get advantage in any way, without using fighting spirit (which can happen even if your enemy is prone or surprised), you can still use rapid strike, not losing out on your bonus action which you can use as an off hand attack, granting you a 10 sword combo.
I actually think battle master /kensqi is how I would build zoro. I’d hate not having high strength but mechanically zoro should have 50 con and like 30 strength so you’re never gonna get that in 5e. Kensai with battle master maneuvers and action surge still nets you a huge number of unique attacks per round with goofy other moves. Kensai literally gives you armament haki and let’s you stay naked.
Cool build. Though, I will point out, you CAN'T factor in an opportunity attack if you use Strength Before Death, as it uses your reaction to do both. Yes, you get a whole new turn so technically you could argue you get it back immediately (which would be pretty cool since it's a subclass capstone which should be insane). But if a DM is fairly strict, it can be argued that the reaction is used up to gain that turn and you have to wait until your turn in initiative. Also, Rapid Strike is once per turn so 9 is the limit each turn with Action Surge, totaling 18.
Im happy I didn't factor in that opportunity attacks then lol But it is 20 total attacks 4 normal attacks 4 more attacks with action surge 1 more attack with rapid strike 1 last attack with bonus action off hand 10 total in the turn, and you can take that turn twice with Strength before death
@@dndbuilds how are you getting the rapid strike and the bonus action offhand attack at the same time though? Fighting spirit consumes the bonus action for that turn meaning it can't be used for the off hand attack. Rapid strike gives a single attack to make up for the bonus action being used for fighting spirit. To me this is putting it at 4 attacks for an action, one for either bonus action attack OR one from rapid strike from the advantage from fighting spirit, then an action surge for 4 more, totalling 9. Strength before Death does give a whole turn, which would be another 9, but this still caps at 18.
@@iamthescrub3709 You can use Rapid strike to replace advantage on an attack. The advantage doesn't have to be from Fighting Spirit, so if you don't use fighting spirit, you still have your bonus action. You just need another way to get advantage which is pretty easy by just attacking an enemy that's surprised or prone.
I do have a bit of lineup ready, but I will definitely be doing him in the future, just because I really like the concept of a hardcore shield user (in a different way than my Captain America build)
If I was going to go for a multi-class I would have taken a 1 level dip in barbarian for access to to unarmored defense and then taken a different 1st level spell with the feat, and maybe swapped out magic initiate for one of the newer ones that give you spells and a +1 to a casting stat.

So he decides, at the cost of losing one attack, to have one with advantage, higher damage dice(d10 from holding longsword with two hands) and more resolve(temp hp).
At lvl 20 you would also likely have a sword like Flame tongue or Frost Brand. So that additional damage if you didn't have those you would likely have +3 magical swords so that's an additional amount of damage that would be insane. I built a multi class fighter that did over 800 damage in a single turn if all of his abilities were utilized correctly. NGL thinking about it still confuses me 😂
So, uh...one issue with this build: Rules as Written AND Rules as Intended, you can not take the Fighting Initiate feat multiple times, as per this paragraph in the Player's Handbook for 5e: At certain levels, your class gives you the Ability Score Improvement feature. Using the optional feats rule, you can forgo taking that feature to take a feat of your choice instead. You can take each feat only once, unless the feat’s description says otherwise.

When you're a fighter, you have two extra attacks with your Attack Action at level 11 on top of the normal attack you get bringing the total to 3. You should do Aizen from Bleach. I have been trying to figure it out and have had 0 luck , but maybe you would be able to since you know the game better.
Action search does only give you one additional action, it doesn't give you an additional bonus action, but the way this build works you can still get around some of that.
One problem, Green Flame Blade and Booming Blade are Spell Attacks, and Int was dumped. Wasted spaces on the sheet if they can't even hit. Maybe it could've been done with Sorcerer with a slightly higher Charisma, to emphasize his good looks, and the intimidation factor inherent to a guy who's swol enough to bench several tons. The Sorcerer list has all three of those chosen options, and it'd be more in character for Zoro to have some Charisma, given the above.
The thing about green flame blade and booming blade is that they rely on you to hit with a melee attack, not a melee spell attack. So all you have to do is hit with your dexterity or your strength just as you normally would

@@dndbuilds alright yea cuz I think Izuku would be kinda of a challenge since One For All and the vestiges, he kinda reminds me of Aang from Avatar The Last Airbender cuz the like the past lives thing is kinda like the One For All vestiges
Do you think his third sword in his mouth would be classed as an improvised weapon
I tend to think of improvised weapons as like a chair, table, or swinging a goblin at another goblin.
@@dndbuildsjust wanted to say I have accidentally created the most diabolical fighter barbarian multi class that can do 37 d6 with two great swords and has a ac of 19 with an attack bonus of 6
@@Big_Div how?
@@dndbuilds I did path of the zealot barbarian up to fourth level the rest as rune knight so with path of the zealot that adds one d6 and then with giants might and fire tune that adds three d6 I also I’m a half orc so i got the feat orcish fury that allows to add one damage die per long rest and dual wielder so using bonus action extra attack and action surge with everything assuming I hit each time that adds up to about 37 d6 I also have to add the campaign I’m doing only goes up to level eleven so if it went higher I would probably get my second extra attack and I just have to say I completely stumbled on this by accident so the attack bonus could go up to 8 but the one I have is six cause I put most of my points into constitution cause of unarmoured defence so the highest I will get to is 7 which is still amazing and as for the ac half plate armour with plus two dexterity that’s 17 plus dual wielder and then I chose the fighting style that adds plus one ac if you are wearing armour so that adds up to 19 and I’m shocked my dm let me do this cause every encounter so far has been very quick although I think he may be saving the harder stuff for later anyway thanks for reading this insanely long comment goodbye
@@Big_DivThat's a very interesting Build.
I love this!!! Seems like an amazing idea
Can you do Nami from One Piece, and amazing video
I may need help, been trying to build one of my favourite Character from DreamWorks Troll-hunters, James (Jim) Lake. I been thinking of a lot of options but unsure what’s the best one.
I built a multi class fighter that did over 800 damage in a single turn if all of his abilities were utilized correctly. NGL thinking about it still confuses me 😂
So, uh...one issue with this build: Rules as Written AND Rules as Intended, you can not take the Fighting Initiate feat multiple times, as per this paragraph in the Player's Handbook for 5e:
At certain levels, your class gives you the Ability Score Improvement feature. Using the optional feats rule, you can forgo taking that feature to take a feat of your choice instead. You can take each feat only once, unless the feat’s description says otherwise.
I would have gone with mercenary veteran for a background.
You don't need a specific build to do this in good systems.
I mean you don't really need a specific build form in general, I just like having fun with it, it's a big part of what I do on this channel 😁
You do need a specific build to play this character in class-based systems. You do not need a specific build to play it in good systems.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING
Glad I could finally make it happen, and looks like you were one of the earlier people to watch, especially since this video accidentally came out at midnight instead of when I intended lol
@@dndbuilds I have been playing dnd with some friends and i decided to try out Matt Mercers Bloodhunter class and ive been making it a dark magic version of Zoro mixing it with Fighter for juicy big damage turns. Been looking forward to seeing a good pure Zoro build tho and this does it service pretty well. Also with the Dual wielder feat you can stow and draw 2 weapons when you could normally only do so with one so if you really wanted you could have 3 swords and swap between them in combat. Just for a bit of flavor :)
Check out this videos sponsor snhu.edu/dndbuilds and request more info to help support this channel!
Whether you want to go no sword style, one sword style, three sword style, nine sword style, or even further beyond, this build has you covered 😉
EDIT: since there's gotta be a moment that goes wrong with every one of my videos, this one premiered at midnight 11 hours before I intended lol, so enjoy the early video!
Is it just me or did he f up his math on the damage. Because I'm pretty sure 20 attacks with a d8 damage die doesn't add up to 260 max damage.
Love it!
Thank you, I appreciate the love, I spend plenty of time on these videos so knowing that they're enjoyed is always great
Now sanji is last one out of monster trio of the straw hat
Can someone explain how it gets to 7 attacks with action surge by level 11 I clearly don't get exactly how this ability works
When you're a fighter, you have two extra attacks with your Attack Action at level 11 on top of the normal attack you get bringing the total to 3.
Action surge gives you an additional action, so you get to double that, bringing the total to 6.
Then when you dual wield you can make one more attack with you off-hand as a bonus action bringing the total to 7.
at level 4 i would argue the feat that give the eldritch invocation would be better as those cantrips fall off beacuse of extra attack
The problem is that the eldritch adept feat requires for your character to have spellcasting
@@MagentaPills then dont require it ? get a better dm
@@arielshligman2146 I’m just saying if you’re going rules as written spellcasting is a requirement if you wanna take that feat, so the suggestion you’ve made will be heavily dm-dependent and you gotta ask em first if they’re okay with it since it’s not a universal ruling.
@@MagentaPills listen man 5e is like skyrim you are meant to mod it
@@arielshligman2146 idk why you’re speaking in absolutes, different tables rule things differently. Some like being flexible with rulings and others don’t, idk why you’re still arguing about this
Could you do a madara build or a whitebeard build
I've gotten tons of requests for Madara, so I'm definitely going to be doing him in the near future, and I think you're the second person to request white beard so that will happen eventually too
You should do Aizen from Bleach. I have been trying to figure it out and have had 0 luck , but maybe you would be able to since you know the game better.
I though action surge only gave you 1 additional action and a possible bonus action
Action search does only give you one additional action, it doesn't give you an additional bonus action, but the way this build works you can still get around some of that.
@@dndbuilds I just typed in what action surge said it gave you
Can anybody tell me why action surge gives you 4 attacks, cause I thought it only gave you one extra attack
So all you have to do is hit with your dexterity or your strength just as you normally would
@@dndbuilds Fair does, just rechecked, my bad
@@Kytseo no problem, I wish I had a list of all the stuff that I've missed in all of my videos, believe me the list is pretty long
Can we get Trafalgar D. Water Law please
hope he picks longswords
I would love to see Nami, from one piece
Can you make mihawk?
waiting....waiting...waiting. :)
Damn, you were really on there ready to go when this launched at midnight, my mistake but I'm glad people were able to catch the premiere anyway 😄
But how do you actually get the 3 sword style? This doesn't tell you how to do that, just how to get three attacks in one turn
Can we please get a rock Lee build???
Definitely got him lined up for the future, I've actually been super pumped about him
THE ONE PIECE......
THE ONE PIECE IS REAAAAAAL
Hellz yeah it is
I would like to see how would u do Sasori from Naruto... Or just any puppet master from naruto universe
I've actually been thinking about a puppet master build, but that's definitely a challenge
@@dndbuilds I don't know if warlock pact of the chain is a good call or Battle Smith artificer would be the right call, maybe both? It's a real challenge
yeees longswords
Hear me out, Natsu Dragneel or any Dragon Slayer from Fairy Tail :)
Absolutely on the way in the future... I wish I could do these videos full time, so I could get them out faster lol
I wanna see the tmnt tortles.
I actually think each one of them would be a completely different build, they would have a couple similarities, but really I would do a different build video for each of them. I gave a hint of what I was thinking during a D&D session for my patrons and I threw in Raphael, but I've got a bunch of ideas
@@dndbuilds i want some insight into a question. The race tortle already has good AC, But earlier i just downloaded a free fighter subclass called gladiator. At 3rd level you gain proficiency in performance. Additionally when you are wearing light armor no armor your armor class equals 10+ your dex and cha modifiers. Do i just add or keep the tortle ac?
@@wolfbanefist111 generally the rule is that you can only get armor from one major source (not including add-ons like shield of faith or the fighting style defense) so barbarians and monks don't stack, but in most situations you just have to pick one. Usually this would be clarified in subclasses, and I know gladiator isn't official content, unless you're doing just the gladiator background which is different than an actual subclass. So I would say you just have to pick one and go with it.
@@dndbuilds thanks. As far as i know its supposedbly a new book coming out or something. Download only had 6 pages and a kickstarter for "guide to dragonbinding."
@@dndbuilds hey, mind if we direct message about something pertaining to monk?
Hello there.
I immediately read that in an Obi Wan voice lol. But Hello 😁
General Kenobi
@@dndbuilds good
Can you please do natsu or AAANNNYYY Dragon slayer from fairytail like race I'm sorry but easily a DragonBorn right??
Naw probably a human variant dragon soul sorcerer
I think Waylon is right with this one, unless you want to lean into the Dragon stuff extra, but really you get so much Dragon-ness from the Draconic Sorcerer that it should be able to cover it 99% of the way
@@dndbuilds oh ok I thought dragonborn because the breath attack would take care of the spell fire dragon roar
Can you do Hinata from Naruto pleasee??
I've had a lot of requests for Naruto characters but that's the first one from Hinata, I was actually kind of hoping somebody would though because she seems like an interesting character to build, so I will definitely make her in the future
🥑
Damn, you were really on there ready to go when this launched at midnight, my mistake but I'm glad people were able to catch the premiere anyway 😄
Problem is Zoro was initially a bounty hunter......
I'm creaming to this build fr
