I agree adding pg13 is a move that continues our pattern of over paying for questionable stars at the potential detriment of the future. He personality doesn’t fit the team. That said, I think he’s seen as the safest option compared to role players like John Collins. I’m afraid that alone means we end up trying to get him. If the off-season signings do turn into a failure it’s easier to explain going all in on pg13 than going all in on a lot of those other role players you mentioned.

I think it’s time to stop paying super star contracts for players whom we expect to be the 2nd-3rd scoring option behind Embiid and maxey
5 years ago I would have been all-in on PG, but you can't be handing over a Max deal to a 34 yo guy who has continuously come-up short in the postseason, and is breaking down a bit physically. Also he is going to eat up at least 75% of your available cap space. I understand needing a wing who can shoot and defend, PG has been able to do both, but he's also a guy who sort of needs the ball in his hands to create for himself. He isn't someone who is going to come off screens or be someone who makes cuts to the rim and facilitates. I think there is little chance he leaves LA anyway, since he's already been there a few years and seems happy there on a personal. I think Ballmer is riding this out with Harden and co.

Paul George is an upgraded Tobias Harris, both come up weak in the play-offs. I hope the clippers sign him because stupid asp Darl crumble cookie will give him the bank.

PG would be a great fit 5 years ago. Imagine if Morey wasn’t so infatuated with bringing “stars” on the backend of their careers and instead figured out how to get Halibruton with Simmons. We’d be nonstop talking about how the next decade is a legit championship window. Nope. Now we’re back to the scrap yard buying into false hope and not gonna happen. In two years that PG contract will be one of the worst in the league.
The Sixers problem is Embiid thinks he’s he’s a ball handling creator scoring wing he handles the ball to much he becomes a turnover machine

THANK YOU!!! I was getting disappointed seeing so many channels n fans ok with this move. It does nothing for us. It's another Harden situation. We need younger players who have a lot to prove. Yeah, PG aint getting us to where we wanna be. Maybe if we get him n Caruso, but even still, Give me Caruso, Bridges, and Drummond and then sign a few guys back like Batum n Kelly and lets get it.

I still PG would be a great fit, but don't think he's necessary. But I agree Embiid and Maxey is a elite duo. Mikal Bridges would be awesome. I think that's who Morey should be targeting, especially if you can use the 16th pick for that

Why not go after Miles Bridges we can get him for 20-25 m, if we do that we can resign Kelly, Batum and spend aditional 20-25m while keeping Maxey cause we have bird rights on him and keeping all picks

Sixers only have 3 guys under contract. They are MUCH MORE likely to sign one impact star than to successfully fill out the roster with solid role players. Are you more likely to hit on one player or 6?
Your right PG is not it, hes to laid-back for philly and he comes in with too much baggage about not getting it done in the playoffs we already hear that with Joel. Its much easier to get John Collins than Markkanen via trade, pair him with Miles Bridges and that would be a scary athletic squad. it's no way we're getting Mikal from Brooklyn, our fan base is delusional at times.
I agree that John Collins is an excellent fit if they can get him. Along with him, they should try for Mikal Bridges, and if possible, Malik Monk, too.

Well the issue was Harris man doubling Maxey because Harris is no good..They need consistent players not superstars..Kuzma and Tyus Jones and Monk and bench players would be enough..Harris not on the team is a plus in and of it self salary wise and on the court wise..

When the last time pg came a big for an entire series. I will wait. Saying that, we need to go in different direction. Dont want pg unless it absolutely the last resort. Trade for brisge or sowmthit like qnd fill out th broster with some size and athletism
Daryl Morley is so frustrating. I am praying that the Paul George smoke is just that to get him more with LA. The blueprint is to surround Joel and Tyrese with competent role players. Easier said than done with the guys available but id rather Caruso and Lavine
Having both john Collin’s and Kelly outbreak would be insane athleticism. The clippers are reportedly not willing to offer PG more than 3/150 when the sixers can offer more of a 4/200 which would be so foolish for 35 year old PG

-I don't think we get batum for the min (he'd probably rather play near his family in LA if he doesn't retire)
-12 per year seems a bit low for martin. 30 a year seems reasonable for monk but he might want to stay in sacramento with his bff fox
-12 a year seems really low for claxton? He's a starting caliber C, basically a better version of bball paul. No way brooklyn lets him walk for that much. He probably wants a starting role too.
-Caleb and Smith are both below average starters. Monk is a poor fit with maxey. I understand if you don't want paul george but this roster would just be too bottom heavy.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with all of your takes. Over the last few weeks I've just about lost my mind listening to other Sixers bloggers fawn over names like PG, Jimmy Butler, and LeBron, each with some delusional ideation this would somehow bring us a championship.
