    Love the feel of your videos ,can I know how I can get good bargain on used camera and what to look out for when buying

      Thank you! I would stick to KEH, MBP, or a local camera shop for security. For the best deals though, I like the buy and sell forums on Fred Miranda. Only buy from people with a good amount of recent seller feedback and used insured payment methods. Check the condition in the pictures, ask for more if you can’t tell. Ask questions about known defects for the camera model and for shutter count if that matters to you. Fred Miranda is a good place to do price research for sold items as I find stuff goes the cheapest on there. If you can find a deal in line with average pricing there then you are doing a pretty good job I think. Good luck!

      @@Lonnie.G so what primes are you using on the Sony side? That A9 video looks great.

    • @Lonnie.G
      @Lonnie.G  2 роки тому +1

      Still working out my kit but here’s what I have on the prime side - 28mm f2, 35mm f2.8, 35mm f1.8, 55mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8. I also have an M mount 35 f2 by 7artisans that I enjoy using via an adapter. Usually, I pick one prime for each body when I go somewhere with the intent to shoot - like 28 and 55 or 35 and 85. If I'm only bringing one camera slung over my shoulder I'll usually grab the smaller 35mm. I imagine the next videos I’ll share in the new year will be impressions on the lenses I’ve been using.
      The A9 video actually surprised me since it’s not really known for its video capabilities and lacks a lot of video features compared to current Sony bodies. I agree it looks pretty good and this is straight out of camera, no color grading at all.

      Very nice collection. I too am switching my kit. I had a chance to use the a9 and a9ii absolutely loved the performance. Was able to find a great deal on the a9ii for 3k with battery grip and two Sony batteries. The lens I used was the 85 1.8 and 55 1.8 and enjoyed them both. Going back to the Nikon 6ii felt like I was going backwards.Merry Christmas Eve bud.

      @@christopherrodriguez7223 yes I’ve seen the prices for the A9ii coming down too - 3k with those extras is a steal! It’s crazy to think that the 55mm was one of the first prime lenses in the FE mount and it still performs so well with the AF of their current cameras. The amount of great choices in FE mount is honestly one of the biggest draws to the system for me too - along with the performance of the bodies. Marry Christmas!

    Just watched your Fuji 18/2 review. Subscribed! Love your relaxed feel and direct conversation. As a part time working photographer and a dad to be, I can appreciate your honesty about the pacing of videos. Hope you can go full time UA-cam one day, your production is on point.

    I enjoy your reviews. I went from Canon to Nikon to Fuji XPro1 to to Panasonic GH5 and then finally landed on the Sony A9 and the A7R4 for my professional wedding photography. The Sonys are my favorite for image quality and autofocus speed. I do miss the usability of the GH5 but I'm sticking with my Sonys. I also enjoy the Ricoh GR for my EDC camera.

    • @Lonnie.G
      @Lonnie.G  2 роки тому

      Nice! How did you like the X-Pro 1? That was my first Fuji camera back in 2012 and they improved the series greatly since then. Sounds like you have the perfect kit for your work and you have your personal EDC covered too l. I think it’s very important that working photographers have a fun EDC so that they can continue capturing their everyday life without it feeling like work. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      @@Lonnie.G I loved the XPro 1 because I was an early adopter of the mirrorless. But I switched to Olympus and Panasonic for the better focusing and the better controls. Then I switched to Sony when they caught up to Olympus and Panasonic with their lens line up. While I love the astetics and the fun factor of using the X Pro 1 and the X100's, I feel that those cameras are better suited for leisure use rather than for professional high demand use such as in wedding photography. They don't focus as quickly as the Sony's and the Panasonic's and their dials are beautiful but are not practical in fast pace environments. They are much more cumbersome to change quickly. In theory it would seem that they would be faster but realty is different. Shoot a few weddings with both systems and you'll quickly realize that one is a toy while the other is a tool. I feel at Fuji it's form over function while the Sony's and especially the Panasonic and Ricoh it's function over form. I still want to pick up an x100V as a fun camera to use when I'm not working and when stealth is not a priority. It's beautiful and fun to use.

      I mostly agree about the dials and some people set their dials to A, C, or T (depending on the dial) and then just use the rotating dials on the front and back of the camera. I think the AF is certainly good enough now though and I’ve seen people using Fuji exclusively for weddings. I don’t think it would be my first choice but I have no doubt I could get the job done with it. In fact, I shot a wedding back in 2012 using an original Canon 5D and the X-Pro 1. I definitely missed some while in a very dimly lit reception room but nothing critical. Im confident that the newer bodies would have done much better and they certainly focus better than my 5D did back then. I agree though that there are other systems that could make the job easier

    For the a7C get the new small rig cage with the grip. I cut the top part of the cage off. Complete game changer for that camera. Had that grip you have from Justin it's terrible. You will love the new one

      I show that small rig cage in the video. I actually though about cutting the top half off! How did you actually do it? I was worried about it being a rough finish. Could you share some pictures of it? I think about doing it like everyday lol

    Totally get it man. I’ve been wanting to start a UA-cam channel for forever lol. But doing my masters, working full time, and my photography business I just dont have time, or at least I don’t feel like I have time. On top of social life lol it ain’t great. I’ve taking at least 25 videos and just never edit them. Lol 2022 ima try and do better. I just sold my Nikon gear to switch to Sony, lol waiting on my a74 right now. Anyways, I hope you do find more time to do things, or at least keep the channel and stick around. Your videos have been great, and a great pace for people that are busy and just want to hear info almost like a podcast. Happy holidays to you and your family.

    If you like x-pan format I wonder why not using GFX50R or something in that range.This to ability to shoot multiple formats straight out of the camera.

    I’m a dual Sony and Fuji user; have an a7riv, a7r, X-Pro3 and X100V. It’s fantastic to be able to use the contrasting design styles for different things. My heart will always be with the X-Pro3, but the autofocus and APSC low light performance just doesn’t cut it compared to the Sony. I use the X-Pro3 for analogue style, optical view finder, manual focus type shots, and the Sony for landscape etc

    • @Lonnie.G
      @Lonnie.G  2 роки тому

      I think once the used x100v comes down a bit, I’ll be doing something similar. That shooting style is exactly what I miss the most about Fuji - optical viewfinder and all.

    Sony 7iii or Fuji xpro 3? for portrait. Thx

    • @Lonnie.G
      @Lonnie.G  2 роки тому

      Either can do the job to be honest if all you want to do is portrait. I’d say Sony eye AF is a little more reliable but the xpro 3 is no slouch. I’d say it comes down to what feels better in your hands and suits your shooting style. The Fuji is way more tactile with an ability feel while the Sony feels more similar to a modern DSLR. Can’t go wrong with either
