The Polyend Play comes with some awesome samples ready to go. however the Play uses some really cool features like the beat fill to get the sounds with these Sample Packs. Now what happens if you have your own samples and want to make a custom sample pack? I am covering my process for making these packs for the play.

Great tip about grouping like sounds - thank you!
The key takeaway I wanted. The randomness is not random and you can get more out out of this
Wow. right on the money. I literally came to all this probably a year back. My younger self would of been more of zen like if someone broke this down to me 😂
Cheers for the video.
Pity there is a 255 file limit regardless of file size.
Great video, would have loved a section relating to the C tuning of the samples though
thansk for this. while it is pretty straightforward, it's reassuring to have a detailed descriptio of someone's process. Currently developing my own packs!
I feel making sample packs gets the most out of the play. Have fun
Excellent tutorial. Yes organisation is key. All samples should be in C if possible. Do you use the same say bass sample in different note lengths? Love your intro logo, it has to be one of the best I have seen and thats coming from a graphic designer with over 49 years experience.
Nice tuto ! Do you know what is the max.duration of sample ? I would like to use this for long loops
Is there a video on how to make a pattern? Been thinking about how this is done :)
Is there a way to get samples to just play across an entire track without retriggering, if that makes sense? Like I have a long drone sample that I'd like to have playing across an entire sequence, but the retrigger very clearly starts the sample over, even though it is just one continuous note. Sorry if that isn't clear.
More gold content.
Cheers @stephennapolitano
Thx Aisjam for information and inspiration. I wanted to make my own Samplepacks, too. Is it a good Idea to sort the Samples and use only C tuning ones in the synth folder and other tunings in another folder.Thought I use adsr samplemanager to sort but what to use for Filechanging to 16-bit mono @ 44.1 kHz in one go? You used a Program but I didn't understand the name even by listening to the same passage in the video several times 🙂
I mostly deal with synthesizers so my samples are in C by default. But this might be a good topic
Came for the tutorial, stayed for the hair
aah o.k. its reaper, finally could read it on videoscreen. I thought its only a 60day free trial? Found aimp and audacity both free but not shure if they batch convert also stereo to mono. Will try this weekend.
Sorry didn't get there sooner. Yes it is reaper, it is a 60 day trial however unofficially you can close the screen and for a fully featured daw. it is also reasonably priced for an individual small business licence. I would recommend use that if you are managing large sample pools.
How big can a Sample Pack be? So whats the sample memory per Project of the Play?
6 minutes of monophonic 16-bit, at 44.1 kHz or 255 max samples. A fair bit of memory, however I like smaller focused sample packs so I can mix multiple together.
Hello I wanna buy one but haven’t seen a video talk about this. Is it possible to import samples and play samples? Can you stretch samples to fit a bpm? Thanks!
Yeah I just ordered a Play+. I don't know details for the original Play, but in the Play+, you can import your own samples, up to 6 minutes of mono samples and 3 minutes of stereo samples. I *think* the samples auto-time stretch to match the BPM. If I see anything different, I'll let you know.
@@Antonio_Ortiz dope thanks. Would be dope to be able to use loops but haven’t seen a video that addresses this.
@@hipsterlord I'm about to start loading loops into the Play this week. I'll keep you updated.
I literally was about to start loading samples this week (been very busy with work before Xmas), but yeah it looks like it does stretch your samples.
This video around the 2:15 mark

Just confirmed that the samples do not stretch to fit the BPM. Would be really nice in a future update.
