Thank you so much; I was about to take the car to the dealership...and I know that it would have cost me much more to replace a taillight...thanks again
Our 2013 has different tail lights configure. Don't have those 2 screws to open the whole cover, have to use your hand through that small hole to get to the 2 bulbs. I don't think there's any other way. If U have big hands then forget it. I have small hands and managed to accomplish it. My brake light bulb (the one that U can see from the outside) was burned out, the other bulb is kind of amber color and U can't see it from outside. So I just replaced that clear color bulb. Thanks for guidance that helped me somewhat to accomplish in stead of paying $69.99 minimum rate per hour for those mechanics.
There are 4 bulb type in that back end! I dont know all of them, just 2 for sure. The tail brake lights that are a dual filament is 7443/7443sdck, and these go on the outside light fixtures, not on the rear hatch. The Reverse lights are921. The turn signals are the same as brakes, but amber color. The small red lights when you are driving at night that are on the hatch are smaller, 168
There’s a plastic cover that you need to carefully pry off. You can use a flathead screwdriver to pry it off, but be careful not to scratch the paint. If you have a panel spludger (looks like a screwdriver but has a forked head that is bent) it is easier, but a flathead screwdriver works too. Gently pry from the top & it will come off, exposing the two bolts to remove.
Hello RepairEd I need to replace an existing outer rear lamp assembly (lens is cracked) with a new one. This video was very informative and I was able to easily disengage the cracked rear lamp assembly, but now I am unsure as how to make the connection between the new wire harness (attached to the replacement lamp) and the original wire harness (attached to the vehicle). The female end of the wire harness attached to the vehicle is positioned inside the body frame and cannot be pulled thru the hole in the frame to permit an easy connection to the new male end of the lamp wire harness. It seems like it will be necessary to remove the interior side panel of the cargo area in order to gain access. I haven't been able to find any good references for doing this online, but does this sound like the right approach? Thanks. Greg
No bs, good energy, and clear instructions. Thank you sir!!
Thanks my man, I was planning to do it the harder way, yours is a lot easier.
