  • In response to the recent demolition of Conneaut Lake Park's Blue Streak wooden coaster, I have compiled all my footage of the park from 2021 into this video. The footage includes a final look at Blue Streak standing but not operating, a POV of the Devil's Den pretzel dark ride, and several other shots around the park.
Please feel free to use this footage if you are making a video about Conneaut Lake. Credit to RampagingRex Productions in the video is appreciated.

There is something very fishy about the circumstances surrounding this coaster’s destruction. No news on it, having it burn down on the same day a permit was issued for its teardown that should not have been issued yet, ownership by someone notoriously tight lipped about plans, who purportedly planned to build a trailer park there… this sits very poorly with me.
Excellent footage, Rex, I enjoyed the documentary on the park as a whole, and always look forward to more.

I’ve never been to conneaut lake park but they need to step it up and help rebuild the park. This coaster was a very classic coaster, longer before my parenst abs grandparents were born, I have faith in them to hopefully find some people to help the park.

Sadly, that likely won't happen. The new owner seems to be taking the park in a very different direction, focusing more on shows and live entertainment and removing most of the remaining rides.

I am literally crying, please tell me that the sign with the lights from Blue streak was saved the one that showed exactly where the train was on the track. I grew up in Cleveland but my dad grew up in Pennsylvania and this was a place that we always went every year once or twice or more, the Blue streak was the first roller coaster I ever rode and this was before all of the regulations I remember being a tiny tiny little girl riding that with my dad and he would put his one big leg across my lap and hold me tight with both arms as we laughed and rode and my mom would be so pissed that he took such a tiny little girl on such a big ride but it made me become a roller coaster lover and it started a spark in me it's such a young age to enjoy that free feeling even though my dad was holding me so tight I'll never forget sitting in the seat with him as he adjusted everything and made sure I was held firmly down to the seat so I wouldn't fly out and we would watch that board when the light bulbs showed where the train was and being so so excited to know that our train would go next I am literally mourning a part of my young life and my history , the whole place seems surreal to me as a child and is an adult, being used to going to cedar point and Kings Island and geauga lake conneaut always seemed a special to me hotel conneaut I have stayed there conneaut lake Park I can tell you myriads of things that seemed just a little bit different from the fast-paced everything else and I always kept that as a little bit of happiness in my heart almost like going back in time but no one knew it but me. I know this sounds ridiculous but I am honestly heartbroken

It is very sad to see what had happened to this park from my childhood and how horrible the new owner seems about this beloved landmark.

I am an Erie native and believe it or not in the 80's CLP was a better park than Waldameer. We used to hit CLP every year as GE used to have their family picnic there every year. Seeing this video is just heartbreaking what it has become. Blue Streak is the first coaster I ever rode and it sparked the coaster fan I have become. Much better than it's Waldameer counterpart (Comet )which was the only one that park had til Ravine Flyer 2 came along. So as a local if you wanted a good coaster you had to it Blue Streak. Very sad what CLP has become.

This is truly sad. Todd Joseph has just about sealed the fate of this park by having the coaster destroyed. Blue Streak was the star attraction of the park, and without it, what's even the point?
My only hope is that if the park does end up closing forever after this season, the rides can at least find new homes. I'm really sad I never got to visit the park in its glory before it all went downhill, and it seems I never will, because I feel as though 2022 will probably just be Conneaut Lake Park's final season ever. I know it's unfortunate, but with the way Todd Joseph is running things, it just seems inevitable.
Rest in Peace Conneaut Lake Park. Hopefully one day it can be rebuilt.
