The Blue Streak was my first "big kid" coaster. I must have been 9 or 10. I still remember my dad holding my shoulders down on the first hill and yelling, "hold on to your teeth, grandma!" We would go here in the 80s and early 90s. Such a great, little park.
I am so happy I found your video. Brings back such happy memories. We used to rent those houses inside the park. A very nice place. So sad to see it change.
My family and I went there a lot when I was a kid (70s/early 80s). My sister worked there for the summer of ‘83. And then while we were in the area, we also went to the Linesville Spillway to feed the fish. Those were the days! RIP, Conneaut Lake Park!
So crazy to come across this video. I was there that day! I kept looking to see if we'd end up in a shot, and I didn't see us, but I think I spotted mom's car in the lot!
Sad what happened to it. Was a great place to take kids and adults because it was one of the last of the old school parks. You got to experience what a vintage park was like. I always appreciated old parks as I grew up in them in the 50's and 60's!
I remember going here a lot in the early 2000s. Going down the lazy river. Being at the top of the big blue slides. Getting on the blue streak 30 times in the day. It’s kinda strange watching these people enjoy a day that I didn’t put much thought into when I was young. Now I’m watching this video seeing myself standing in all those spots. Time is strange
It didnt surprise me, I grew up going to that park, it had been maintained since the late 90s and needed millions in repairs. This video probably caputures the park at its best time in its history
@@coasterace oh wow thank you for letting me know sorry i just always wonder where people are at now and stuff lol the 2 girls looked about my age at that time so i just think i wonder how old they are now and stuff thank you for the response :)
First of all , I mean NO disrespect to anyone with what I have to say . I believe it was a Conspiracy to have Conneaut Lake Park removed ! . Look at all the property that surrounds the Park . Then ask yourself Why ? Would you let Todd Joseph walk right in and literally destroy the Park , and all the memories that each and everyone of us cherish of the Park ? It makes no sense to me at all . The people that dedicated their lives and hard earned money to the park , And all the Fan's that enjoyed the Park for what it was . We understood things were worn out and a little dirty . But that was what we looked forward too. I admit , My heart will always be broken because of this ignorance and planned failure . So when Mr. Joseph places his Condominiums there . I am sure all of you will enjoy counting your money and NOT your Blessings ! Thank You for reading my thoughts , and may God Bless all of Us .
Thank you so much for sharing this! Brought back such good happy memories of Conneaut Lake Park!

My Dad worked at Westinghouse and they always had their picnics there. Great fun and memories!

Those were the good ole days for the park. Too bad they couldn't keep things running every season after.

The Jolly Caterpillar and kiddie Turtle ARE from West View Park. The Turtle is now at Knoebels, not sure where the Jolly Caterpillar went.
love that dad's Pgh accent!
The Blue Streak was no accident!! It was all planned !!
PUBLIC FLOGGING OF TOOD " NO COMMENT" JOSEPH IS IN THE WORKS
Thank you for preserving the better days of CLP. So sad how the former board and EPAC sold the park to a land developer.
