I was part of this fine group. Without a doubt the finest marching band and best written fight song, in the country. Even the haters know the words. GO BLUE
listening to Bob always gets me fired up ! God I miss him and his enthusiasm! it's hard to believe he's been gone for 4 decades. Go Blue in footballs Valhalla!!!
+G Money Who cares? It's the 11 recognized national football titles, the fact that Michigan was the 1st FBS football program to win a national title in history, as well as the very 1st bowl game in history (1902 Rose Bowl), and Michigan's illustrious football history that makes it an elite college football program.
you left out the best part though... "That's when the chills run up and down your spine, you get goose pimples all over, your blood turns Maize and Blue, and everyone out there becomes a part of the winningest tradition in the history of Big Ten Athletics!"
I remember Bob Ufer when I was growing up.... in fact owned albums (yes albums...) of some of his best calls. One of the all time greats of college announcers...... Loved his horn for the scores. Thanks for a reminder of good memories.
My dobber is high, my ankles are taped, and HAIL TO THE VICTORS, LETS GO BLUE! And may 2015 and years to come, be a very MAIZE AND BLUE HAPPY NEW YEAR!
John Philip Sousa - the universal greatest American composer - declared The Victors to be the greatest college fight song. That takes the subjectivity out of it. The Maestro has spoken.
17 National Championships, 31 conference championships, 69 bowl games, 34 seasons w/ 10+ wins, 41 bowl wins, 10 undefeated seasons, 23 seasons of 10+ wins, a winning record against every past & present SEC school, and 12 appearances in the SEC championship game. That's Alabama football. Roll Tide boys.
Technically, the Victors is a march. The best fight song in the land, not according to me; I'm nobody. But that was according to John Philips Sousa and he's not a nobody.
Ufer was the greatest, this band is the greatest, this song is the greatest, and now national champs again. A wealth of blessings.
