Few, if any, of her Chinese/Asian coaches had experience fighting as former elite fighters or trainers having trained other elite Western fighters previously. THAT lacking was not, is not insignificant... It impacted Zhang's game planning. Very few athletes could just "wing it" and win the most important contests of their lives; MOST need elite coaches who design good fighting strategies and tactics... so a good fighter could maximize his or her skills, at the various crucial points, where a tiny wrong decision or wrong move could cost you the fight, even if skill for skill you're just as good as your opponent or even better...

Very philosophical, I think it's an acceptance to her first defeat to Rose where she didn't accept it at first. The second time she was defeated, she readily accepted and then went on to work even harder. It's a healthy mentality to have to not be over-obsessed with the possession of the belt where ultimately, you can only control your own conditioning, training and strategy but not the outcome.
