These new tools from MotionVFX are changing the game for Final Cut Users. The tracking, AI Rotoscoping and 3D tools combined together in their new pack "CineStudio" are simply incredible. When I first tried these features I was skeptical but after using them I am a believer that they truly make a video content creator's life better. Yup...and as quickly as they move towards subscription models, I move away from them! These people must realise that most people can't afford to pay for multiple subscriptions and, ultimately, only the most needed software will be the subscriptions people choose. The rest will go to the wall wondering what's happened!

For the workflow it is cheaper and faster than getting after effects or using other ai tools online that you have to pay for credits. It will pay for itself.

The scary thing about subscriptions is that you have to keep paying to use, and can't collaborate unless the others are subscribing too and they may stop updating and upgrading. If it were buy with a lower annual maintenance, they'd be motivated to provide updates and upgrades to keep the user motivated to get the annual maintenance. In the meantime, you'd keep what you bought. Imagine paying nearly $300 a year and they fall behind macOS compatibility.

There are a couple I would love to buy immediately: mTracker Surface and mTracker 3D and perhaps mRoto AI. But, if I'm not mistaken (unlike FCPX itself) you basically have to 'rent' them- pay monthly or yearly, nothing permanent.
Awesome! FCP was really dying compared to what other video editors are offering atm. It's truly a shame that the most valuable company in the world doesn't offer such features natively in their "professional paid" video editor. Thanks for sharing it!
I have a story about that company suggesting a potential partnership with yours. They could conduct research, eventually leading to either acquiring your company or selecting the top talent and leaving. Consider their approach to innovation, especially in their new camera phone. Their meticulous research and avoidance of common mistakes might explain why they kept their product under wraps in September, focusing on other software instead. When they upgrade to the 11 version, you might be astonished by the improvements.

Hey Ben - Have you found a good plugin for caption/subtitles? I've been having to edit in FCPX then use the auto text feature in CapCut for my vertical videos I want subtitles on.

The mRoto is cool, but noticed feathering and soft edges. Is that adjustable? Or should I expect that feathering if I intend to use it?

I just switched to Davinci from FCX because it was falling behind in my needs, this makes me think about it twice, is still behind but I may give FCX another shot
I still love FCPX but hope they integrate some updates soon that allow for some AI features natively

I also wanted to try it out after seeing the software released recently, but seeing the price of the subscription made me think a lot. There are two interpretations of Apple's lack of updating FCP: first, that the plug-in works well while it doesn't, and secondly, if it does, you can't guarantee that the plug-in will work well, and you can't guarantee compatibility.
It's nice to have a plug-in like this, but for pro-level editing, a move to the Premier Pro or DaVinci Resolve is being seriously considered.
Hopefully Final Cut will integrate AI features without need for plugins soon

I really would like to see this fcp for iPad too at some point.
But what if you need to overlay a lot of elements? How does this all work out? better than: PFTrack, magic mask and tracking on Davinci resolve, it can be done thereI didn’t like how these plugins work, only for simple tasks.

Can this be used to remove objects?
Not really, I guess in some situations yes but you’d need to either replace the object or have a clip without the object beneath it
Has anyone ever had issues with the clip not being selected and rotoscoped ? I uploaded again and restarted computer . Reuploaded the plugin . Still having issues

Cool stuff, although I will say the rotoscoping was far from good.. Of course it can be used for certain applications in optimal settings but it was not precisely accurate as you could still see the background around the actor, both in your example and the example from motionvfx. I'm guessing it will get better with time but as of right now I don't see it being an alternative from rotoscoping in AE or similar. Nice summary video of all the features! :)

This is just a "small" function available in davince resolve and atfer effect, completely free with 3d tracking and roto, I think Final Cut Pro will sooner or later lag behind the world.
Capcut's built-in magic mask is still way better and faster 😆

thing is resolve studio has all this and much more inbuilt in their program. if we have pay for these monthly and annually, fcp will loose the game

They copied some native resolve stuff, yess!
Having moved from FCPX to Resolve makes this look like an amateur job. (With all due respect to the creator)
Most of these features are included for a 1 time price with updates for life. Apple really dropped the ball some time ago and haven't really picked it up ever since

What was the learning curve like when you went from FCPX to Resolve?
@@pekerhed101 I started with some straight forward projects and grading footage in davinci. As in cutting up simple dialogue and doing some Color grading in there.
Before I knew it I was starting to do more complex edits as well.. Edits that require masking and some simple layering effects. I am now using davinci (activly) for almost a year and hardly ever go to FCPX.
2 months ago is still use to make game shirts for tiktok on FCPX as I had a certain work flow. But I also stopped using it for that now.
I've come to realise davinci Resolve makes me edit in a better flow and gives me a lot more options to make real clean edits (actual footage) when it comes to color correction grading and audio design and mastering.
I really love the way you have a separate audio tab.
Further more the Ai incorporated for tracking masking and even transcribing for subtitles is 🏆🏆🏆
I'm digging into fusion now (the after effects inside resolve) and slowly start to understand it and acknowledging that nodes are far superior than just stacking effects.
The controle in davinci Resolve vs FCPX is unprecedented.
Tip: Start slow and small and simple and learn something new with every edit you make.
Coming from FCPX or any other editor makes this a lot easier as you already know what you want... Just don't know where to and how to yet.
