- I sent Han Meimei and Bobu all the ingredients they needed to create one of the tastiest, no-frills Chinese street food dishes in their own kitchen.
That's right, they cooked their very own kao lengmian, or grilled cold noodles (which in fact are neither grilled nor cold). Plus, my mom took on the role of camerawoman and captured my dad's culinary skills!

7 yuan? Incredible. The container it's in would cost more than 7 yuan in the West.
The kao leng mian looks good as well as the British options, especially the steak bake and scotch eggs. We're headed to England and Wales next month and will look for these while we're there!

Get a pasty (sp?). If you get a good one , they are delicious and cheap. Great for a quick meal .

The sauce should be just some chilly sauce which we used in China a lot , and Lengmian is made by several different flours

@@TravelinChina In Canada, there is a grocery store called No Frill. Never thought what it meant until now and see why it's naming this: Slang of "No Frill": "Having few or no special services, luxuries, embellishments, etc"
