Hi Stu,. Great review. I am 75 and not rode a bike for 30 years but this sounds perfect for to get back into riding. I believe you are as old as you feel and I feel like a teenager looking forward to their first bike. Cheaking where my nearest RE dealer is. Wish me luck.
Mr Roberts, you maybe 75 years young but I'm sure you could show us youngsters (I'm 56 ,but don't feel it !) How it's like to live life to the full . Good luck sir ,see you on the road one day .👍 Peace out ✌️
Hi Paul. I'm 76 and ride a brand new Interceptor 650 that very much reminds me of my wonderful Triumph TR6 I had in the late 60's. Before this I had a Bullet 500. I plan to ride until I keel over or can't get on, whichever comes first. Watch all the safety and training videos on UA-cam and take mihai's advice. I think you will be amazed (as I was) at how much good safety and riding skills stuff has come out in recent years. I highly recommend MCRider videos.
The Classic 350 is a hefty and muscular bike, no doubt about it. You need to activate every single bicep fibre to move it around while parking. But the story changes once you are firmly set in the saddle and put your hands on the wide handlebar. Switch on the ignition key, and the loud, bassy dug-dug-dug-dug sound starts the blood flowing in your mind and the body. Only thing is that the blood flow does not lead to a surge of power and aggression. Instead, as you rev up the throttle ever so gently, it leads you into the zone of calm, quiet and relaxed confidence. This bike loves being ridden in an easy mode. It tells you that there is no need to outrun others. You start cruising at 60 kmph in 5 th gear, and gently become oblivious of everything and everyone around you. You pass by highways, soak in the gentle breeze, stop at roadside cafes, have sips of masala tea every now and then, and the aromas lift you into the zen mode which you have always been craving for since childhood. And then you realise it... So often in life, when you slow down the pace, the heart starts beating faster !
I have watched a lot of shows on the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Your comments were pleasing to read, and I enjoyed them. Today I bought the bike. I should have it here in about 3 weeks. Goodbye for now my friend. 11/22/24.
I love your eloquent , honest and competent reviews Stuart . This one is no exception . You manage to convey the true spirit of each bike you ride . I am 82 and have ridden bikes all my life . Currently I ride an immaculate 1999 Rebel . I love the retro vibe The joy of motorcycling is to relax , enjoy and appreciate the freedom only a bike can provide . No redlining every gear but just listening to the music of a well tuned engine running well within its limits . I love the RE classic . It could well be my next bike . The Rebel will still remain with me though ! Be safe always and enjoy your riding .
@@jamessmith5970 Ah thanks . I still get out riding a lot even through Winter . Keeps me fit and healthy. Age is just a number . Keeping active keeps you young . I still do all my servicing etc and also maintain my son's Lambretta . Enjoy your riding . Hopefully for many years for both of us . Stay shiny side up !
You’re making it hard to contain the urge to test ride this bike. And I think I know what will happen if I do. I’m 62, and after owning many heavy, powerful and expensive bikes, the idea of riding a classy, comfortable, reasonably priced, light and relaxed retro bike is very appealing. I have a feeling this bike will appeal mainly to the very inexperienced and the very experienced, older riders, who don’t want to wrestle a heavy bike and no longer have a need to prove anything. You are an excellent and articulate reviewer. It’s a pleasure watching your videos. Thanks for your hard work and effort putting these together so others can learn and enjoy.
As one who falls into the “older discerning” category, I’m so pleased I bought one of these. I noticed it jumped forward off it’s side-stand when I started it one day, admittedly on an awkward bit of camber, as I stood by not holding the bars, so I would be careful of that. Becoming a septuagenarian, I look forward to growing old with this bike.
I've owned an RE Classic 500 for 3.5 years & have (& continue to) enjoyed the experience of owning my 1st non-Japanese bike. Living on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, I have some wonderful B-roads & byroads to gently tour through when the weather is kind. I fully agree with your comment that at higher speeds, the 500 is a bit frenetic - I tell people that once over 70mph, the piston has stopped going up & down & the bike takes over! 50~60mph is fine & relaxed on an A-road, much less than that on the B-roads. At 66, I'm not interested in "0~60 in 3 nano-seconds"! My RD350 days are long gone.... I understand that the Meteor (& presumably the new Classic 350) has a balance countershaft which will make it less "vibrational" (my word!). The outgoing 500 doesn't have that which is why I'm very content "bimbling about" in the Dales (& the Lakes) at speeds which are much more relaxed. It's what RE ownership is about isn't it? If you're in a big hurry, get a different bike! I'm away to the Cotswolds for a week of gentle exploring soon & I'm looking forward to this. No motorway running of course! Ride safe & thank you for your informative review of my 500's li'l successor.
Hi Stephen, have you fitted a 19t sprocket and Carberry reduction plate on you bike ? If not its worth thinking about improves the bike if you want a bit better cruising ability and a big reduction in vibration on your 500 .
It is true! I already test ride this CLASSIC 350 Royal Enfield last Friday this month of March 2024. The best motorcycle! Looks lovely and performance is excellent! I LOVE THIS CLASSIC 350 Bike! Now I am applying for one of this Red Chrome color!
I just bought one of these. I'm 68 years old, and have been riding for over 50 years. Outside of my '72 Norton Commando, this is the most straight up FUN motorcycle I have ever owned. The handling is just superb, the throttling is relaxed, the engine is SMOOOOTH (and NOT just for a single!), and the curb appeal is Smackdown Gorgeous! Things to know if you're considering one. This bike (for it's engine size) is HEAVY. 425 pounds! My Commando didn't even weigh this much. I guess it's a testament to its overbuilt frame. It'll take a nuclear strike to bend this frame, I suspect. Also it's TALL. I have a 32" inseam, and I can barely flatfoot it in sneakers. With regular riding boots it's just fine. Also, don't be in a hurry if you're out riding doing errands. At nearly every place you stop, someone will come up and ask you "What is this?" "Where is it made?" "Is it fast?"(No...not really!) "How much does it cost?" etc. etc. You've been warned. Finally, if you're an experienced rider but have reached a point in your life where you aren't touring across state lines anymore, and have no need to expend testosterone by trying to reach the "Double Ton", then this may very well be the bike for you. For what this thing costs? There IS no measure of "Fun per Dollar" on ANY other bike than can approach what you get on a RE Classic 350~!
Have just picked up my new Classic 350 and absolutely love it. I also have a Triumph Tiger which I also love but the Classic is a breeze to ride. The perfect second bike ( or first bike ) which will appeal to all ages. My non motorcycling neighbour said he thought it looked fantastic (which it does) and it drew some very positive comments from a group of teenagers I rode past today. Makes me feel pretty cool riding it, even if I am not. If you are in the market, just get one. Stuart was spot on with his review.
As expected, this is the THE premium review of this bike, excellent commentary and fair assessment of of this new creation by Royal Enfield. I'll even watch it twice!!!!!
One aspect I’ve noticed on RE bikes is humidity getting into gauges over time. Hats off to RE for going in a proper direction as compared to other manufacturers who think plastic and more plastic is the future.
Absolutely excellent review, loved it. I recently bought an Himalayan but did it with big doubts about the quality and longevity of a Royal Enfield. However the bike has been a revelation both in terms of quality and outright fun. I'm definitely going to consider going to now consider a classic 350.
After Himalayan you might not like the classic 350 that much because it has more vibrations as compared to the Himalayan. RE is coming up with a new bike this year. That will be dope.. Check out Royal Enfield Shotgun.
A true ambassador for you country. We enjoy the beautiful footage you create always, it has that X factor above the others. A very honest review and it’s so much appreciated by us your patrons. Keep up the brilliant work, it was well worth the wait, thank you!
With the caveat that you cant put Rolex and RE in the same league, ridiculous. 9999 out 10000 Rolexes are absolutely (!) flawless and every Rolex is made a 100% out of the best materials this world has to offer for wrist watches. While RE‘s speedometers „sometimes“ fail ( isnt that a rather uncomplicated thing?) and they are still fighting for flawless paintjobs, according to Mr. Fillingham himself.
Picked up my red and chrome this afternoon, 1st time I seen one with a gloss finish, the test bike was mat black. Maybe I shall keep it in the lounge so I can stare at it all day. A very very beautiful bike. I asked the dealer how many he has on order, he said 20!
An excellent review that has increased my desire for a Classic 350. So far, there are none at any of the four Royal Enfield dealers here in Pennsylvania. I'll wait patiently...
I don't even have a motorcycle license but looking at this and listening to that unit merrily thumping along makes me want to look for the nearest driving school.
Where's the "Love" button? Adding one more "Like" just seems to be doing your video an injustice... Excellent video as usual. And THIS one is what I've been waiting months to see! Even before you mentioned possibly adding one to the channel, I was hoping that you would at least test one once available, so that we could get a taste of your feelings toward the newer bike vs. the "original". Looking forward to seeing more on this one for sure! And it appears that I have some time yet, as, while RENA has FINALLY announced the 350 Classic is coming to the US, so far at least, it's only shown in what I consider the least favorable color options... So, the wait continues...
As a more mature covert to the wonders of motorcycles, I love your videos and style of delivery. I fell in love with this bike as soon as I saw it and will have one in the stable soon, as soon as the I can get a permit from the management!
Hi Stuart, I am a returnee to biking (Triumph, T100)after a 10 year absence from a total of nearly 40 years. I recently came across your video reviews and found them most helpful. In particular, i am heartened by your fair, objective and, above all, honest opinions delivered with both clarity and integrity. Thank you for these well produced sources of reliable and interesting information.
Thanks Uncle Stu! This has me curious enough to try and get a test ride on one of these. As owning a Classic 500 - listening to the areas of improvement does make me curious. Sorry to hear about the rush job they did on the tank - usually RE doesn't do a bad job, but it can happen, but as much I love the brand and the bikes, I'm not too impressed with the warranty with MotoGB as a middle man - I have my own horror story on that, involving lots of chasy chasy and waity waity so I do hope they finally got their act together. If not, I'm sure we will hear about it 🙂
Nice, honest review Stu! I have just bought an Interceptor and have noticed some poor finishing, namely the headlamp chrome ring, but as I will fit a nose cone, this is not a problem and also bearing in mind the price, I feel it is acceptable! 👍
Thank you Stuart, really enjoyed this comprehensive and totally accurate review. Still running-in my Halcyon black and absolutely loving it over my Bullet 500. Who’d have thought!!!
@@stevec-b6214 Living in Cornwall Steve, big hills/ mountains are in pretty short supply😁 I loved my 500, but as I’m now 68, I can do without the ‘visceral’ ride!! My 350 is just such a pleasure to ride!👍🏻 But each to their own eh!!
Same bike as you up to 450 miles now, had first service, im in Devon so plenty of hills, once run in I dont think hills will be a problem, as you said love the bike, really enjoy going out on it, gone from a Triumph 1200 so a huge drop in power but I enjoy riding the classic far more.
Hi Stu. Wholly concur with everything you say on this latest 350 Classic review. The bike is an absolute gem in every way . Thanks again for yet more wise words and continue to enjoy your Bullet!
A great review. RE have got another winner here. With all engines, bikes or cars, usable torque and at what revs is more important than a max HP that can only be obtained by revving the tits off it. With advancing years I have become increasingly vertically challenged, and I'm very happy with the seat height,, riding position and comfort of my Meteor 350. The Meteor's "Tripper" is a complete waste of time as far as I am concerned.
As always Stuart you are forthright in your review and I’m sure your subscribers appreciate that . You looked very dapper in your attire and the ‘ Ride of the Valkyries’ soundtrack at the opening was inspired. Great video Stuart.
I think your narrative helps me enjoy my red n chrome 350 (taking it slow) as much as my GS .. on days maybe more . One of the few things in today’s day and age that truly feels more than worth the money spent on it .
"If you want to know the tech specs, go online and look at the brochure". THANK YOU, I appreciate this alot. I want to get to the review on the soul of the bike, the actual character of it, not just the specs as many reviewers rehash over and over. I'm 35, just placed an order for a Classic 350, picking it up Thursday. I've been riding about 15 yrs, owned everything from 850cc metric cruisers to 1700cc harleys and liter sport bikes. But now I'm downsizing. I like the old school, my favorite subject is WW2 combat aviation. This bike doesn't just look like it's trying to "copy" that era or play dressup, it looks like it's actually true and genuine to that era while maintaining some modern advancements. And for the cost, I couldn't pass it up. Great review, thanks!
Brilliant review Stuart. Not able to ride now but enjoyed every part of your ride. May I say thank you India for keeping these great motorcycles in production. Thank you.
You're a likeable man, Uncle Stu. And I'm glad you call a spade a spade. Such integrity seems to be becoming something of a rarity these days. Almost 80K subscribers!
I really appreciate this video! You have provided a fantastic, Warts and all review of a real icon in motorcycles. Between new 350s and the 650s RE are going to flourish in the motor cycle world, even more than they currently do. Will share this with a mate who needs a nudge on what his first geared bike should be.
When I started riding back in the early 70s, the leftover 305cc and new 350cc Hondas were normal, typical sized bikes for serious road riding. A 650-750cc bike was huge. And when the Kaw Z1, 900cc hit the market… O M G !!!!! This pretty little bike really does take an old soul to own and love it. I think I’d qualify 😊 should I decided to go this route. Thank you for the video work, well done 👍🏽
Another great vid Stu. I have just run in my chrome-red model and absolutely love it. Thankfully I can find little fault with my fit and finish and this bike is very solidly put together. Motorcycling meditation.
I absolutely love the look of this bike it's beautiful and considering buying one. Is it better than you expected? and hows the engine feel now its run in , enough power to have fun ?
@@juliehinchcliffe9532 Yes, better than expected, extremely comfortable, solid and characterful. I feel it will take a couple of 1000 kms before the engine really loosens up but on a twisty road it is fun. It will cruise all day at 100kph but is in its element at 75-95. This is motorcycling meditation, if you want motorcycling excitation you maybe should look elsewhere. For me, this one has more smiles per mile that any of the many bikes I have previously owned.
What an excellent tour you took us on for this video. i was enjoying the trip immensely, well, especially, since I wasn't feeling the cobbles. There is definitely a place in the world for these bikes and bikes like them. there's something very gentlemanly about taking your time and not rushing about.
Absolutely adore your videos. I have loved enfields for as long as I can remember, I plan to get one very soon on my provisional license, and realise my childhood dream. Your videos are super entertaining and you have a great easy to listen to voice, the whole package
Hello Stu, Great review! I just bought my ‘23 chrome and bronze based on looks and appreciation of the smell the roses approach. You have however reminded me of the purity that motorcycling can be. Years of searching and owning various bikes led to this. I now enjoy your reviews and, I must say research every product you mention. Much appreciated - stay safe. Bo
A great advert for Hull and the 350 Classic! I don't think I'll buy one as I'm still in love with my Interceptor but maybe when I'm ready to go slower in style I'll consider it very seriously.
Dang brother - this is cinematic! Beautiful B-Roll and camera shots, this is a step above most reviews you'll ever see. I hope you get paid for this effort!
I'm not in the market for a 350.... besides several others waiting in the stable I have the 500 Bullet, with Cozy sidecar and the 650 Interceptor. Both excellent machines and I'm sure the mechanical refinements found in them carried on to the 350. What I find refreshing is the " old school " design and appearance, none of the silly " Batman Bat cycle look... or even worst some sort of Praying Manis. Case in point, Ducati at one time had beautiful classic designs but now have the appearance of scaffolding that fell onto a lawn mower engine. We now have two RE dealers in the area and the one I deal with I've noticed all the models quickly have " SOLD " signs hanging on the handlebars.
"Ducati at one time had beautiful classic designs but now have the appearance of scaffolding that fell onto a lawn mower engine." Hate that look, I called in a Yamaha dealers a short while back, all the machines looked the same, all black with everything 'tagged on' like after thoughts and all with digital pods for instruments, They looked like cheap Chinese junk.
It feels to me like you nailed it. I have a Classic 500 and an Int. 650 I love my 500 but it is punitive at 65MPH. One hour in the saddle (hard as a rock) and I can no longer feel my hands or my feet. The 650 is powerful and smooth at 65-70 mph, That glorious clutch and transmission.. but the riding position does not work for me.. Bars are too far away, knee angle too acute, shins banged by, legs tangled in the footpegs. I test rode a classic 350. It was probably The Most Comfortable bike I have ever ridden. The leg angle, foot peg placement, handle bar distance, the magnificently plush saddle and the utterly smooth engine almost made me weep. I was ready to trade in my 650 for one but they offered me only 2,000 dollars in trade in (?!?) I was a bit put off by the lack of power, 60mph came on.. s l o w l e y . I don't ride fast but living in Oregon inevitably means some time on the Interstate... and if you can't cruise at 65MPH you will get crushed. Two more horsepower, Just Two... and it would be a done deal. Maybe aftermarket add-ons would help?
Thank you so much for a well presented review. I'm a 69 years young Ex pat now living in NZ and I'm still riding! At the moment I'm back on a 1970 T100R Triumph, but keeping it fettled and running is getting harder for me. While this 350 looks the part, but I think it might struggle on our open roads 100Km speeds while fully loaded up for touring which I still do! The new BSA Gold Star will be out of range of my pocket, so I'm looking at second hand 500cc Enfields. Again, I enjoy your reviews, THANX.
I have been watching your videos for some time now.....revisiting your earlier ones .... I love the easy going content, the trips over the Humber Bridge and the ''Go for a Ride'' through the Yorkshire countryside..It's all very nostalgic of my time riding the English country lanes back in the late seventies...albeit on a 'Beemer'. Your Video's are very well produced and interesting to watch, listen and learn....I just stick a camera on my bike, Go for a ride then edit out the boring straight bits of the trip..The renascence of the Classic Motorcycle is an ever increasing phenomena. BSA are 'trying' to do it, Triumph, very successful building a classic line, more sophistication, coupled with higher price. Norton in my opinion have lost they way...I believe they should build a modern version of the Domi 99. Royal Enfield has obviously got their products and sales pitch/pricing just right, this is born out by their ever increasing sales. Great classic bikes on a well produced video Stu...look forward to more of the same..Greetings from not so sunny España.
Great review Sir , I have a. 500 B5 Efi 2016 bullet in racing green contemplating changing it for one of these but I love the thump and ruggedness of Harry so think I will keep what I have. Your videos are great always honest , thorough and most enjoyable . I have owned many bikes , Royal Enfields Harley,s , moto guzzi , but this current bullet is the first bike I feel connected at one with , perhaps that’s age and realising what I have. Thank you Stu your video has put my mind at rest about changing , it’s a great little bike and again quality review , look forward to many more 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👮♂️
Morning Stuart. I'm running in my Meteor at the moment. Although I love the Classic I bought the Meteor for the Mag wheels. At 66 I thought stopping the wheels and spokes from rusting could be a challenge. My old Triumph Bonny T100 was notorious for rust. Having said that, I'm not struck on the feet forward position on the Meteor, especially on cornering. I also think the overall look of your bike is better, it has that period look about it. I'm thinking about hard panniers, so it would be interesting if you go down that road. Cheers for the Vids Stu.
I can second your comments TB, having lived very happily with my Meteor for a year now. I had the chance today to do a side by side comparison of a Meteor and Classic and strongly suspect the lower rails holding rider pegs and brake bits could be swapped between the 2 thus relieving the foot forward stance. Similarly it may be possible to swap rider seats and handlebars. Why not buy a classic I hear some say? Well, I also run a 1951 350 Matchless - classic enough - and appreciate the Meteor's non classic, functional cast wheels, the rust proof plastic bits and the refinement Stuart describes. Is there ever a truly, madly, deeply perfect bike?
Super review Uncle Stu ! I think it looks a great piece o' kit. I have a 2021 650 Interceptor and a 2003, cast iron barrel, right foot change 500 Bullet. Think this will be a real winner as is the 'right look' with modern technology. Thanks for the content. Always eagerly anticipated!!!
My dad always wore a tie, when working his garden or going fishing or just sitting around inside, reading or doing home office work (he was a retired Navy/Merchant navy captain and worked for DECCA Navigation among other things. We got Rolling Stones & John Mayall records for XMas) Thx for the video. Hope the buggers stop harassing your videos.
Oh lord, how I love motorcycles that LOOK like motorcycles. The 350 looks to be a nice bike for back roads and country lanes, but there is room in my heart for one bike now and that's my Interceptor.
Wonderful to hear you loved the classic 350. I got mine in the same colour around 6 weeks back, and am loving it! I am a beginner and like you say, its extremely friendly and nimble despite its weight
Great review. Happy owner of the same version (the first on the Lisbon streets...). No paint issues as far as I can tell. Really in love with the bike, and looking forward to your next videos. Thank you.
I really love the thought of plodding along country lanes on this, & now RE buggers the job up by producing the Scram - which, with a bigger motor, might be a better bet for my rare 300 mile days. 1st world problems I know.......ps I thought you might have stopped in the Old Town to help those obviously lost gilet jaunes!
"The Rolex Explorer of the motorcycle world"..thats a great line. RE really owe you for that. Mr Lall should be informed. Really good review..as expected.
my first and only bike has been a heinkel tourist and ive put a deposit down for a 350 classic. young and old and two stunning bikes, 2 bikes that take their time. Im in ireland, one thing we dont appreciate, which you mention, is the stunning scenery. Both Ireland and the UK have it in abundance. As one Ferris bueller once said "life moves pretty fast. If you dont stop and turn around once in a while you might miss it."
Thank you for another excellent review! Another great advantage of the J-series engine is the outstanding fuel mileage. I'm averaging over 80 miles per US gallon on the Meteor. Smooth as a twin? Yes! But with that unmistakable thump. Love it. Do you have any idea why RE recommends semi-syn oil for the 350 but full synthetic for the 650's?
Damn, Fillingham! You gots stylish and fulfilling videos above and beyond the typical best. Intimate details of the subject matter warts and all, picture well painted. Well done and thanks.
Omg.. another video master piece! The falling in love with the bike directly goes through the screen to the viewer.. It's hard to choose between the Interceptor and this one..
Hello Stu, yours are the best bike review, it's such a calm and complete experience for classic bike lovers like myself. Have the new classic 350 and love it. And it's always great to hear your opinion.. keep riding and spreading the cheer 👍
I found it a Majestic representation of the RE Chrome Red in terms of overall quality of the video especially those visuals captured. A true to life review as well. We, the young riders are looking forward to more such informative & inspiring videos from you.
Oh wow, great to see you going round the old town of Hull there. I really do love your vids of the area now that I live down in Hampshire (been here since 2002). This 350 really seems to have captured your heart.
I was eyeing for the Suzuki sv650x as my 2nd bike. But considering the rising cost of fuel prices with no signs of going down I am greatly considering this RE 350 classic now. 37kpl is what I need. The Sv650x can wait🙂
another class video Mr Finnigan, the classic is a very nice looking bike and you look very dapper in your sports jacket, I'm glad to hear you had additional safety gear on, loving the Union Jack scarf.
Just had my Chrome Bronze delivered having sold my Interceptor and Himalayan. Fortunately I haven't identified the same problems with paint finish. A warning! I suggest you include on your channel a warning that the brakes have to be 'bedded' in, I had a scary moment on first riding as I live on top of a hill. I'm looking forward to your next video.
I know this is an old video, but picking up a Classic 350 this week. Red and Chrome to match my Interceptor. Thanks for the informative videos Uncle Stu.
Hi Stuart, good review, although you are right about the bike being more refined I found it had a lack of character compared with my classic 500 2018 model. I road them back to back , I have a 19t sprocket and a Carberry reduction plate on my bike and is cruises along lovely. Much more character and more grunt and no plastic! I'll be sticking with the 500..
Thanks from USA. Good review. FYI, I'm 78 and decided to pick up cycling after 50 year sabbatical. Classic 350 is dead on my welcome back to the saddle choice. Only real issue was getting my head around an engine so... so diminutive. On the other side of the coin, crotch rockets are out of the question. :-)
When I saw this bike the first time, it was clear already, that I once will own one. Your rview encouraged me even more. Thanks for having said, what I hoped to hear 👍
Thank you, Stuart; I'm envious, both of the bike and of the roads that you have there! That was a lovely review, both from the scenic and the educative perspective. I - and a great many others - very much appreciate your considered approach in appraising these motorcycles and honestly informing us of your thoughts and impressions.
Nice review Stuart. What are your thoughts about the likelihood of a new larger displacement single cylinder "classic" to replace the old 500? There's no doubt RE know there's a market for it, so I don't think a perceived lack of demand is the reason we haven't had one announced. I think they know it'd be a great bike to bring to market but either focused on developing the 350 first as it's the bigger domestic seller and haven't yet completed the 500s replacement design yet, or are struggling to make an air cooled single meet new emissions standards. There are plenty of big water cooled singles (just look at the upcoming Gold Star) but I think meeting emissions standards with an air cooled motor that also performs like it needs to must be very challenging. I also think RE know how big of a part of the Bullet derivatives identity the air cooling is, and probably rightly so are very scared of moving to water cooling for fear of losing customers who no longer think it's a real Bullet. Maybe a Classic 650 with their parallel twin could work? But people are quite discerning about the fundamentals of the Bullet and I think that as good as it is, the twin would not give the type of thudding performance people want of a Classic.
Hi Stu,. Great review. I am 75 and not rode a bike for 30 years but this sounds perfect for to get back into riding. I believe you are as old as you feel and I feel like a teenager looking forward to their first bike. Cheaking where my nearest RE dealer is. Wish me luck.
Enjoy your excitement! I recommend a refresher with a local rider training school to give your confidence a boost. 👍
@@goldilocks913 yes, probobly good advice. Thanks. May do that before I buy.
Mr Roberts, you maybe 75 years young but I'm sure you could show us youngsters (I'm 56 ,but don't feel it !) How it's like to live life to the full .
Good luck sir ,see you on the road one day .👍

Hi mate, all the best and have fun! if you feel like riding, do it. at least the best idea I ever had !
The Classic 350 is a hefty and muscular bike, no doubt about it. You need to activate every
single bicep fibre to move it around while parking. But the story changes once you are firmly set
in the saddle and put your hands on the wide handlebar. Switch on the ignition key, and the loud, bassy dug-dug-dug-dug sound starts the blood flowing in your mind and the body. Only thing is that the blood flow does not lead to a surge of power and aggression.
Instead, as you rev up the throttle ever so gently, it leads you into the zone of calm, quiet and
relaxed confidence. This bike loves being ridden in an easy mode. It tells you that there is no
need to outrun others. You start cruising at 60 kmph in 5
th gear, and gently become oblivious of
everything and everyone around you. You pass by highways, soak in the gentle breeze, stop at
roadside cafes, have sips of masala tea every now and then, and the aromas lift you into the zen
mode which you have always been craving for since childhood.
And then you realise it...
So often in life, when you slow down the pace, the heart starts beating faster !
Beautifully put! I used to watch everyone flying past me on my classic 500 and just shake my head in pity as l enjoyed the journey 👍🇬🇧
I have Pulsar 200NS for past 10 yrs. Enfield feels lighter for to its weight distribution. My Pulsar feels more heavy due to it being top heavy.
I love the retro vibe
The joy of motorcycling is to relax , enjoy and appreciate the freedom only a bike can provide .
Do it. I test rode one and really considering getting one.
Makes me feel pretty cool riding it,
even if I am not. If you are in the market, just get one. Stuart was spot on with his review.
Started in 1975 on a 380 GT Suzuki! Now I’m 69 and just sold my GoldWing! Might have to have one of these! Love it!
As expected, this is the THE premium review of this bike, excellent commentary and fair assessment of of this new creation by Royal Enfield. I'll even watch it twice!!!!!
One aspect I’ve noticed on RE bikes is humidity getting into gauges over time.
Hats off to RE for going in a proper direction as compared to other manufacturers who think plastic and more plastic is the future.
happens with Triumph and BMW too. I speak from experience.
It has less vibrations with the new 350 engine
A true ambassador for you country. We enjoy the beautiful footage you create always, it has that X factor above the others. A very honest review and it’s so much appreciated by us your patrons. Keep up the brilliant work, it was well worth the wait, thank you!
"The Rolex Explorer of the motorcycle world." Love that description.
Understated and unassuming, yet refined and elegant at the same time.
Thanks for the good, thoughtful review. I'm Meteor owner, and I was/am thinking of getting a Classic 350 too.
Who’d have thought!!!
do you have decent hills in your area? i do, and thats my main concern over my 500, which eats hills!
@@stevec-b6214 Living in Cornwall Steve, big hills/ mountains are in pretty short supply😁 I loved my 500, but as I’m now 68, I can do without the ‘visceral’ ride!! My 350 is just such a pleasure to ride!👍🏻
But each to their own eh!!
Same bike as you up to 450 miles now, had first service, im in Devon so plenty of hills, once run in I dont think hills will be a problem, as you said love the bike, really enjoy going out on it, gone from a Triumph 1200 so a huge drop in power but I enjoy riding the classic far more.
Wonderful production, storytelling and owner insight Stuart. Enjoyed seeing some of the old town of Hull too.
Hooray ! I also cannot understand the "Tripper" . If the actual navigation is coming from your smartphone ... Just use the smartphone .
As always Stuart you are forthright in your review and I’m sure your subscribers appreciate that . You looked very dapper in your attire and the ‘ Ride of the Valkyries’ soundtrack at the opening was inspired. Great video Stuart.
I have this bike... 200% satisfied. ... Super awesome.
Well after that reveiw, I now need to decide which colour combination to buy. You really have sold it to me.
Thank you Stuart.
Having now test rode one.
One word sprang to mind.
SOUL.
Pick up my Red and chrome this week.
Pure gadget and Tupperware free riding .
Love it
Brilliant review Stuart. Not able to ride now but enjoyed every part of your ride. May I say thank you India for keeping these great motorcycles in production. Thank you.
I got it, it's a smooth machine ❤️
You're a likeable man, Uncle Stu. And I'm glad you call a spade a spade. Such integrity seems to be becoming something of a rarity these days. Almost 80K subscribers!
Excellent review Stuart. Now I think I’ m ready to give this beauty a try. Greetings from Greece ,ride safely!!!
Had the signals marsh green for a week. Love it. A conversation starter at every pub or Cafe I pull up to. Great review
Thanks Uncle Stu for another excellent video and honest review of a truly beautiful motocycle. Ride safe and God bless my friend.
Hello Stu,
Great review!
Much nicer to look at than a Valkýrie !
A beautiful looking bike !
Thank you, once again, Uncle Stu.
"Ducati at one time had beautiful classic designs but now have the appearance of scaffolding that fell onto a lawn mower engine."
Hate that look, I called in a Yamaha dealers a short while back, all the machines looked the same, all black with everything 'tagged on' like after thoughts and all with digital pods for instruments, They looked like cheap Chinese junk.
My favourite choice Royal Enfield 350 Classic very nice
Loving this widefield vidoegraphy, your takeing reviews to a whole new level..
We got Rolling Stones & John Mayall records for XMas)
Thx for the video. Hope the buggers stop harassing your videos.
Just a thank you for the stunning production on your videos and the tips and tricks on Bike maintenance that I have gleened from them 👏👏
Oh lord, how I love motorcycles that LOOK like motorcycles.
Thank you.
Wow, that engine and gearbox sounds good! thank for the review Stuart
Great Review stuart. Ordered this champ. Waiting... Love
Aye up Stuart, I am fortunate enough to own a 2022 Bronze and Chome classic and am happy to say, it still makes me smile 😊 when I walk into my garage.
Great review and overall video Uncle Stu…can’t wait for the future ones and hopefully to watch another tour of Yorkshire. 👊😎👍
I could see myself owning and riding one of these. Excellent video Stuart, thank you.
Thanks for a great review. I'm seriously thinking about buying a Classic 350 and I think you have answered all my questions....Thank you.
First time I have searched for Royal Enfield and lead to your review. Excellency presentation and I loo forward to watching more :-)
Would love to get one some day, but gone all in on the GT and Himalayan. One day when the time is right I will own an RE classic.
Very nice review! I decided to order a halcyon black...Next week I will pick it in the dealer! Thank you very much for share your riding experience!
We’ll done, Stuart! I do not need a 4th bike, but I love this and have the room, so it’s entirely likely… great and honest review; ta!
Great video, very informative and excellent editing. Top quality as usual 👍
I just Love the sound of the Royal Enfield it’s amazing and the sound is different to any other bike.
Sharp, very sharp, Stuart.
Detailed Review, enjoyed the sights during your tour along the marina.
Cheers
Great review . All the important bits of essential information. Thank you for the comparison with the older 500 bullet. 👌
I know this is an old video, but picking up a Classic 350 this week. Red and Chrome to match my Interceptor. Thanks for the informative videos Uncle Stu.
Many thanks Stuart; a classic review for a classic motorcycle!
People expect more refinement these days and most don't like 'characterful' engines as they feel is sounds broken. Silly I know
My late father in law would have loved this , its a great looking bike Stu
Thanks from USA. Good review. FYI, I'm 78 and decided to pick up cycling after 50 year sabbatical. Classic 350 is dead on my welcome back to the saddle choice. Only real issue was getting my head around an engine so... so diminutive. On the other side of the coin, crotch rockets are out of the question. :-)
When I saw this bike the first time, it was clear already, that I once will own one.
Your rview encouraged me even more.
Thanks for having said, what I hoped to hear 👍
Hello from Texas. Im thinking of buying a new 2022 Classic 350, this video pretty much made my mind up. Thanks for posting.
Thank you Stuart for the great review I hope to be ordering one very soon to go with my classic 500 and Continental 650
