It was great to see this video. The love of my life was born here then when he retired he retired in Yuma. He died this past January. I didn't want to marry him back in the 1980's even though I loved him because of many reasons. I still love him and miss him. So seeing this video gave me a good sense of where he lived for the past 20 years. Thank you!!
They come off the 8 and do a loop of old town. Then go off 4th towards the west on 3rd and u turn around Avenue A. Back to 4th. Then down 1st to A and u turn. Back to 4th and go a ways south to 24th. U turn and back to 4th. Right one 1st at that end of old town and then meander out Quechan rd. Much more to this town! I hope everyone watches this and say "what a one horse town!" I’m from Yuma, Arizona but I had to move up to North Dakota for work. The minimum wage in Arizona was $8.50 the hour (not enough to live of that) I miss my city everyday, I think of all the things that changed over there. I left Yuma 5 years ago and I plan to go back and stay there for good.

Hi , the climate , weather, and quality of life are better in Yuma , i guess.. i watch this video cause Yuma has the reputation of " sunniest town in the world " . For information , in France the minimum wage is +/- 13 USD per hour ( based on 7h a day ).
Difference in pricing isn't because of anything special that YUMA is doing. For ages, Yuma has generally had higher gas prices than much of Arizona. So -- really not a valid comparison.

Oh yeah, Mr. G's 😋 Used to ditch the high school lunch sometimes to go get some beef rolled tacos from G's 😋. I remember the tunnel we used to go across to get there.
Grew up in Las Vegas. I went to Yuma on a bike run with my girlfriends dad in 1964. Wow big changes. I will always have a place in my heart for the desert. Just like the wide open with mountains in the background.

Went to high school in Yuma from 68-72. Been back 4 or 5 times since for visits, a class reunion and a funeral. Sure has changed, but still stays the same. Recognized 95% of the streets (and Avenues) you drove. Seems like I have fantasized about moving back out there when I retire for the last 45 years, but since Dad passed there is no reason to move there anymore. Thanks for the video...
I must say, It is very nice to see this video considering that I myself am from Yuma and have not been there going on 5 years! I guess I wouldn't mind visiting some time in my life. I reside here in Phoenix AZ now. It's nice to see!
maybe nice to see - from a distance - but there was more to do, and more places to go even back in 80's. Very little open after 7 pm. And the 'city fathers - oh and mothers' focus on north end and 16th St have resulted in blight elsewhere.
@@oxyman10 Do you think also a back window "grille" or "Louvers" as they're called, would help much with the heat? I'd guess they probably won't help much maybe a degree or two. ??
It’s because it’s so hot there during the day. It gets up to 120 degrees in the summer. People don’t normally walk around downtown until evening or during the winter.
It is. 100 miles either way to Phoenix and San Diego. The closest other sizeable settlements are El Centro and the Mexican city of Mexicali. The landscape all around is barren rocky desert.
Iwas stationed in Yuma when there was only one road that ran through town that took you to California for about over 160 miles or up state all desert nothing more .No building or bridges ; all sand.
I lived in Yuma for a year. Didn't like at all. It's a dead city. I moved back to Lake Stevens Wa., yea I know it rains a lot here but there is life. To many old people waiting to die in Yuma and there is no life. I'm also a musician and could not find a band anywhere. I even bought a Razor, you can only go out to the desert so many times just to see the same scrub brush and rocks. Water makes things grow and there is very little water in a desert. Sorry but Yuma is a dead place to live.
