@@tvoyager7 More like 10, 9, 10. I love Echoes, but the Dark World was kind of depressing in some areas. Even though Echoes came out like a decade before Destiny 2: Forsaken, the way Forsaken did its dark world (the Ascendant plane) was leagues better. Maybe if they remake Echoes, they can take some cues from Forsaken's ascendant plane areas and incorporate them in Metroid Prime 2's dark world.
@@tvoyager7ain’t no way in hell the games are all 8s. In my opinion, they’re 9.5/10/9. But anyone giving them less than a 9 should stick to playing CoD and Fortnite.
@@tvoyager7 Not a good ranking. The first Prime is a 10/10 masterpiece. Prime 2 is like a 9/10. 3 is closer to an 8-8.5/10. But to consider they’re all equal 8’s insinuates to me that you didn’t really play all 3 that much, considering they have differing strengths.
In my opinion, I think that corruption had a really good story. I really liked the concept of other hunters being corrupt by this powerful poison that can destroy planets (by destroy I mean leave in ruins, kind of like how the “great poison” took out all of the Chozo in MP1)
It felt like the perfect end to the Phazon trilogy. We watch the Phazon grow from this radioactive powersource to this living cosmic horror element. I also love the evolution of Dark Samus in both story and design. Starting from this inhuman monster to a crude copy of Samus to wearing her own form of living armor.
@@chrisdaily2077 I also like how unlike other games, it’s main focus was Phazon. This is why I totally agree with you on MP3 being the perfect end to the trilogy.
What is being said is that turning off hints in the options still gives the player information after they had deliberately asked for none. You won't be told what room to go to exactly, but 242 will still pop up and tell you generally what you need to do either way. As a personal point, I'm mostly fine with this since telling you what you need to do, but not precisely where you need to go can encourage exploration to a certain extent, but an issue others have with this system is that they feel 242 breaks immersion and the feeling of solitude that many loved the first two games for, and they just want her to shut up. so, while it doesn't personally bother me that much, I would argue that not having the option to leave the player exclusively to their own intuition, as Prime and Echoes before it did, is a flaw on Corruption's part.
I like Prime 3 because it feels like a Star Wars Game, it has the same tone and feeling that you would get in a Star Wars Game. The Federation Troopers were a lot like Stormtroopers, and the G.F.S Olympics was like a Star Destroyer, as a big Star Wars fan I like that, and it always makes me wonder what if Samus was in Star Wars?
I think Prime 3 was the saddest. You meet these Hunters and were friends with them in the beginning. Having to eliminate them cause if the corruption was heart breaking. The closing cinematic just added to the tragedy. All around excellent game.
I thoroughly enjoyed Corruption. I enjoyed the use of the motion controls because it wasn't as invassive as skyward sword. I hated skyward sword because of it's controls but MP3's were ok. I loved sky town too. I enjoyed the ship sections and I agree with you that they could have done more with that idea. Good review of MP3.
@@icloudtrevorI really liked this game for not only the reasons you had stated here, but also how damn good the music was. The Metroid Prime Trilogy music was so good
@@TheGuyWhoAsked104 when i was a kid i listened to the soundtrack all the time from UA-cam. I like phendrehna drifts (spelled differently im sure), the magmoor caverns music, the start screen themes for all 3, and the boss fight with that robot dude from corruption was an epic track. However the sound played in the phazon mines from prime one terrifies me to this day
I loved the motion controls in MP3 even the canister ones when you had the twist the Wii Mote. It reminded me of the scene in Alien when Ripley activates the Nostromo's self destruct.
If Metroid Prime was 3D Super Metroid, then Metroid Prime 3 is 3D Metroid Fusion: more linear, less freedom, more emphasis on story than previous games, where Samus also gets absolutely stupid powerful at endgame even by Metroid standards. There's even a voice constantly telling you exactly where to go in both games. Corruption was my introduction to the Metroid Prime series, and Metroid as a whole. I know that because it was on the Wii, they kinda dumbed it down a bit to make it more entry level to fit with the Wii's more casual audience. But I mean... it brought me into the series and made me a fan for life, so you can't say it doesn't accomplish exactly what it sets out to do.
@@GodlyGoku101 You needed that. Annihilator beam with no ammo is too OP. Maybe if that specific beam had been different...but man, the projectiles chased the enemies 🤣
I really liked Corruptions story, levels and visuals. Skytown is one of my favorite areas in Metroid, I wish you could do more with the ship commands it's a very fun idea. Maybe in 4 since that version of the ship is returning we might see it usable outside of scripted puzzle instances. The bosses felt a bit weak though, I feel, to compensate for hyper mode, the boss fights have a lot of invulnerability phase and you're chipping at something to then do damage to their actual health bar, they can take forever. Though the final fight with Dark Samus and the Aurora unit was quite good.
I can admit that the powerups in prime 3 were kinda weak (cool but not as "samus" as the other 2 games). I like corruption the most because it made you watch your energy with hypermode. The Space Pirate homeworld was actually a difficult planet for me. Corruption also had some really neat and intricate puzzles/obstacles (not that the other 2 didnt) like zipping in elysia or the many wonky morph ball devices. Also, they restricted the keys grind somewhat (collecting keys was trash(i would understand why prime 1 is #1 for this reason)).
about half of the ship cutscenes can be skipped, the only ones that cant be skipped are the scenes of the ship enter/exiting hyperspace to jump from one planet to another as those are actual loading screens. I'll also take the ship over any of the other transportation methods any day. Prime 3 has only a hand full of 'elevators' like in Prime 1 and 2 but the ship basically bypasses all of them as an all encompassing fast travel mechanic. Having to travel to a specific elevator to then go from one place to another or even potentially multiple elevator rides just to reach a certain destination will always be worse than just traveling to the nearest ship yard, calling your ship, and then traveling directly to the spot you want from almost anywhere in the map.
Prime 3 is my favorite Metroid game in the series despite me knowing of its flaws. Playing it through primehack on veteran difficulty is probably the best way to play it imo.
All three are 9.X/10 games for me, with the first possibly being a 10/10. For me, personally, Echos is the weakest, and it goes 1>3>2. I often found the dark world off putting to the point I was reluctant to explore it, and I disliked all the one-way paths (which aren't even clearly marked as such on the map). These were only minor gripes though and Echos is still amazing over all. Prime 3 doesn't initially have the same feelings of isolation and atmosphere that the first two do, but around the time you reach Skytown it starts getting better and better. Both Skytown and Pirate Homeworld are some of my favorite environments of the whole trilogy (Skytowns Metroid Lab was when I suddenly realized how invested I was). Also quick shout out to the motion controls - best on the Wii, no exception. Set it to advanced to give the smallest deadzone and it's so freaking smooth. Prime trilogy adding those controls to the first two games deserves special mention as that was my preferred way to play all three till Prime Remastered.
@@tvoyager7 maybe, but to get to sanctuary, I have to treck through 80% of the game, something that isn't worth going through torvus for. Prime 1 or 3 never really had an arduous part of the game that made it not worth going through to get to the moments and areas that I adore.
To... Get to Sanctuary? Yea, its the 3rd 4th of the game. You know whats sucks? Treking back to the quarantine mines after getting the xray visor in sticks of Tallon Overworld
@@tvoyager7 idk, map traversal through biomes was never a huge issue for me in prime 1. It was kinda annoying going through magmore caverns when there was nothing visually interesting in it other than the space pirate platform.
I love Prime 3. Love the PED Suit and its morph ball. I love Rundas and Ghor. I love the new ship and the little bobble head you can unlock. And even though its pretty much pointless as a mechanic aside from blowing up debris, I love that you can call an airstrike with your ship and you can even get capacity upgrades for those ship airstrikes. This game has cool ideas.
Corruption was pretty good. I liked how it knew what saved files that you had on your Wii and it put stickers and stuff on your ship for different games
Regarding the trilogy, this game: -Is the easiest to navigate -Is the easiest to 100% -has the best 100% reward (motha-effin SYLUX BAYBEE!) -while it doesn't have the most iconic bosses, it also does not have the War Wasp hives, Alpha Blogg, or Spider Guardian -actually has the ship do things -has the best grapple abilities in the series (suck it, Other M, Returns, and even Dread) -while it has bad loading times, it's at least honest with them (as it turns out, the chozo ghosts and dark pirates were supposedly measures implemented to compensate for loading times) -allows massively less restriction with motion controls. -HAS THE JUMPBALL THAT PRIME 2 SORELY NEEDED. Granted, Prime Hunters will always be my pick for best Prime Game, but Metroid Prime 3 is legit a great time. Possibly my second favorite.
I'm partial toward MP3 since it was my first time ever playing any FPS. The Wii controls were a joy for me. Can't recall how many times I replayed this. Of course this compelled me to play 1 and 2; thoroughly enjoyed 1; wanted to enjoy 2, but I never finished because I couldn't master the wall jumping (still ticks me off; the screw attack is fluid in 3 and yet, trying to wall jump in 2 was an exercise in frustration). The soundtracks for all 3 are always a win for me. Probably try 2 again if it's available for the Switch when 4 is released. Even so, I will always be a huge fan of MP3.
Metroid Prime 3 is not the worst it's actually my favorite of the Prime Games so far let's how Prime 4 ends up I don't understand why people dislike Prime 3?
It has been a long time since I played Corruption, but I distinctly remember it being one of my first Metroid titles. I would say it's probably my least favourite out of the games that aren't mediocre, even though I should have fond memories of it. Exploration is what I look for in Metroid and Corruption just doesn't deliver. The linearity feels particularly frustrating in this game compared to others in the series. It's been a long time, so I can't pinpoint exactly why, but I think it has something to do with the progression just not being as satisfying. Yes, you do get better equipment as you go on, but they feel more situational. I don't feel nearly as godlike as I do at the end of other games. Another thing is that I remember not liking the combat. Feels very restrictive. I'm not a big fan of games that restrict options for combat (doom eternal, souls games) and much prefer expressive, free flowing combat in games (ultrakill, devil may cry) so it's just really not my cup of tea in general, but there was potential for it to be what I like. The beams didn't really need to be separated and hypermode feels disconnected considering there isn't any real threat to you using it, since if you manage your usage, you can actually make it not consume any health at all, iirc. What I will say, however, is that I adore the presentation. They absolutely nailed the music and art direction in this game. Perhaps this is a little bit of my first game bias coming out, but I just can't get enough of corruption's detailed yet simplistic art design. It's unconsciously inspired me in my own creative work and has influenced how I view all of the other games in the franchise. I don't hate corruption, and it was definitely an important title for me personally, since I may have never gotten into the series without it, but I can't say that it's high on my ranking. I definitely think Prime 2 was where the Prime series peaked. Here's hoping Prime 4 is good.
The only hing that I probably not agree is when you say that gamecube control y pretty much the same as wii motion controls.... motion controls are way better and feel more natural to play with. I know that a lot of people won't agree with me but I think thats because they are too attached to the same. Motion controls for Metroid are the best way to play and something I didn't mention is that you can do some things with M controls that you can't do with GC controllers.
I personally liked the opening, the third entry in a trilogy always feels like the most explosive so it makes sense that they didn’t keep the same solo formula as the other two, it would’ve felt too repetitive. My biggest complaint was the motion controls, I get why they did it considering the button mapping limits on the wii remote but it was still bothersome when you moved the remote too far over and threw off the sensor bar
8:23 actually the doors taking longer to open was a bug that the devs overlooked in MP3: Corruption. This bug was later fixed in the Prime Trilogy. The Trilogy is honestly the best way to play the prime series, as it fixes a lot of problems with the series as a whole. However you will miss out in those great title songs. So that's something to note .
Apparently the Door loading issue was fixed and loading times were streamlined significantly in the Prime Trilogy Release/version of Prime 3. I cant remember which version i played tho tbh. I like this game but certain levels drive me nuts! It really picks up once you get to that Space Pirate Homeworld! And when ya compare it to the weaker Metroid entries (Metroid Prime Hunters & Other M) this game totally smokes!!
I think i need to replay it, but last time i did, i felt like it was going through the motions (no pun intended). Not a bad game by any means, I just don't remember it doing much for me
Prime 3 is probably the worst, but in my opinion it’s because of the hyper mode. It makes everything too easy. Also, the stuff with Samus’s ship was cool but it felt undeveloped and pointless. For example you can use the ship to drop a bomb but you can only do it once or twice in the ENTIRE GAME. That being said the game is still really good. Prime 2 had a few boss fights that felt like bullshit (the spider guardian anyone?) and the ammo mechanic was stupid. But overall I still think it’s better than prime 3. And prime 1 is easily the best. I struggle to find any legitimate flaws with prime 1 besides the pointless artifact hunt.
Yet, you gotta be careful when using Hypermode because if you stay in Hypermode for too long, you'll risk corruption. And if you don't expel it's energy, it's game over. Hell, you'll even go into Corrupted Hypermode if one of the Pirates throws a Phazon Grenade at you. Let's not forget that it's the only thing that can hurt Phazon Creatures or enemies that go into Hypermode. I didn't mind the Gunship's abilities either. It gives it more action beyond the limits of simple transportation. Plus, the Ship Missiles make Samus' Gunship..... a Gunship. Not just in the name only. Although, I wouldn't have minded the inclusion of Ship Missile Expansion if the Ship Missiles weren't just for getting past obstacles. The Ship Grapple also could've had more utilization, too. The only important event it had was building that nuke on Elysia.
@@kidprime6863 Yeah I know hyper mode can kill you but it’s not a problem because you can just keep entering and exiting the mode and you’ll mostly be fine. Obviously the game has a hard mode but iirc you have to unlock it. I beat it on hard mode one time and I remember it was more fun. I wonder if the gunship will do anything in prime 4 but it doesn’t seem like it so far.
@@tvoyager7ive played the prime trilogy upwards of 67 times. All three games in the trilogy, yes. Magmoor isnt a problem as the hub zone, its very quick to get where you want to anywhere except the Phazon Mines basically. Temple Grounds however is a god awful slog to hop between and Aether is more or less structured exactly like the BSL and Bottle Ship except somehow feeling worse, and traversal options that arent "drag your ass across temple grounds for a huge hike" dont open up until the very ass end of the game. fast travel being locked behind the literal last upgrade when traversal is so obnoxiously designed almost feels like a joke at the player's expense sometimes.
The temple grounds are fine. If you know your route, you only need to traverse a third of it to backtrack because everything is in a circle. I'll definitely grant you, on console, travelling between light/dark Aether frequently can be annoying
@@tvoyager7 which is still considerably more than Magmoor, and the Temple Grounds are a much larger and more convoluted area compared to Magmoor, especially in the early game. Magmoor in function tends to be only a handful of very small rooms connecting the different areas whereas trying to get from Sanctuary back to Torvus for the Power Bombs, for example, is the most outright obnoxious backtrack in the entire franchise with no real way to shorten the trek through what is actually a very large area. Magmoor has many different connecting areas and many different very specific spots in each other area that you can be deposited at, especially for easy access to the different zones of Tallon Overworld. A big problem with Prime 2 in particular is that a lot of the "ease of access" shortcuts through the game only open up when you have Power Bombs, whereas Prime 1 gives them to you fairly early on without needing later upgrades than when you can first encounter the need for them like Prime 2 does The only place in Prime 1 that is a headache to access is Phazon Mines, which you only need 2 trips to to 100% that area anyway.
I enjoyed Prime 3 the most, mostly because of the story and interactions with other characters. Then Metroid Prime 1, then Prime 2, maybe because I played it on hard first time playing it and had to stand still for minutes at a time to get by some parts since healing took so long.
Great video! I have always liked the prime trilogy, but I think 3 is the weakest. I'm surprised to see you have less than 500 subscriberd because you make such quality videos! Keep up the good work!
Being the worse doesn't mean being bad. It's not as good as the first two, but it's good. My first in the Prime series and the reason why I'm more into Metroid as a brand. Can't wait for Prime 4.
As I recall, Corruption had a Veteran difficulty that was essentially the real Normal. Normal was actually Easy and primarily aimed at people who hadn't played the pervious games.
Part of the reason that prime 3 was released the way it was is because retro got way too ambitious with the game and had to scrap a lot of it during production to fit on disk. If the Wii was a more powerful piece of hardware prime 3 would have been the largest Metroid game in the series by far with a lot more exploration in an open-semi open world with upwards of a dozen locations to visit with norion being the hub world. They were also planning on having you interact with the other bounty hunters before they became corrupted and went mad to give a greater impact to the story. It would have been a crazy game for the Metroid series but I’m happy that they went with the more linear storyline even if I wonder how they would have pulled off the original concept.
Unpopular opinion: Prime one is the "worst" of them. It the most basic of them and actually kinda boring... Echoes is my personal favourite for it's challange and atmosphere but I still like curroption better than the first one because it is just FUN to play. I think both echoes and corruption have more interesting level- and enemy desing than prime one.
@@IISuzakuII Yeah well I was kinda there. A bit late to the party but still early enough. I only got around to play it when Prime 3 dropped lol. But I played them all in order. Don't get me wrong, the first time I played Prime one it was one of the most immersive experiences. But it got quickly overshadowed once I got to play it's sequels.
I agree entirely. Prime 1 is severely overrated and pales in comparison to the next two. Tallon IV and the Chozo Ruins are the best parts of P1 and they nail the atmosphere perfectly though.
Prime 1 had its own production hell, it's even more impressive when you think about it. Echoes is the best imo, but it lacked the surprise factor Prime had, and I think they screwed up with the colors...those browns/dark purples/blacks/whites were a terrible choice. But I liked Retro's take on suit design. And also, best space pirate design in the series.
All Metroid Prime Trilogy games are peak 3D Metroidvania. You may have one you like the most and one you like the least, but overall quality is still top notch. Now, the one I consider the «worst» is MP2 Echoes cause Dark World was a real pain to navigate with a monotonous environment that got old real quick. Game was very repetitive too with the exact same goal on each area: collect 3 temple keys and restore light. They could have think of a different puzzle for each area. Also, the Ammo system for Light/Dark beams was completely unnecessary. Music was subpar compared to both MP1 & MP3. And the last portion collecting the dark keys hidden all over the map was lame, forcing you to revisit the whole dark world map all over again.
I played the trilogy version, so i have no experience with the GC version of prime 1 and 2, but i really enjoyed the looking around with the wiimote part, felt pretty natural after a while.
For me, Prime 3 is what saved the trilogy. I tried to play Prime 1, but didn't like the combat. I tried to play Prime 2, but... well, it was the worst. Then, I got Prime 3 for Christmas. I enjoyed it so much that I bought the Wii Prime trilogy so I could play Prim 1 and 2 with the motion controls, and they were so much better. Prime 2 was still terrible, though.
Prime 1 layed the foundation for the series to take off in a new direction and blew us all away. Prime 2 followed up a stellar game with fantastic bosses, new powerups, and Dark Samus to menace us throughout the game. Prime 3 left us drooling for Prime 4. To say prime 3 was the weakest defintiely applies, but the gap is very small as far as how much weaker it is.
Metroid prime 3 has loneliness. Samus is a celebrity or treated like a expensive piece of equipment, everyone else is busy doing normal things meanwhile Samus is Samus and has a big job that's not only integral to saving the people in the ship but the world. The loneliness is that you are the only ones that will make a difference, that loneliness is ominous , the fact that you and a few other people are tasked with saving a galaxy is lonely . No one else really can help you , Samus walks thru the ships halls knowing that the mission before her is so dangerous , that they had to call in back up and then the calvary dies .
Over the course of the Video i got the impression that you are not really qualified to make an accurate assessment because it´s a question for lovers of the series who have played every Prime game at least 10 times but as the video progressed i found your critique valid and fair. Personally i think Prime 3 expanded the canvas of the previous two games. And while it made some good decissions here it made bad ones there. For example Ridley, i think he was utterly wasted in Prime 3. We spent the whole first game building up the Antagonistic rivalry and almost a persona about him and in Prime 3 he just appears like a big enemy but the character is all gone. Even the design looked bad. And then he even returned a second time. That whole implementation wasn´t nearly as cinematic as i would have liked. The talking NPCs and less Isolated feeling was Implemented as well as it could have been because it was well balanced. We still got to be alone in enough places. I remember when Prime 3 came out i was happy about the beginning of the game. I wanted the Prime universe to be expanded a little more, have a big battle and see some more of the Federation and the Pirates actually fighting the war that we only heard about in logbooks before. The Gameplay had many nice features and Motion controlls were superb, if you have played the trilogy on Wii there is almost no reason other than purism or nostalgia to go back to the Gamecube controlls. The Stacking beams was a bad decission for me. Having to adapt the Weapon to the enemy was engaging and a satisfying gameplay loop. Much like changing suit modes in Crysis 1, another example where they lost a great gameplay mechanic in the sequel. I hope we get switching beams back in Prime 4: Beyond. I obviously have a lot to say about the Prime Games. I think i will write a script and churn out my own video now that Prime 4 is on the horizon. I love these games way too much to stay silent. I am glad you enjoyed them all. May the light of the Aether guide you.
I did not like 3’s fetch quest. I found it to be the most tedious and just really frustrating overall. But then again, I played the game like 15 years ago, so maybe I’d have a different opinion on it now if I played it again
Metroid Prime 3 suffers when compared to the previous 2, for a couple of reasons. First, Metroid has traditionally been about a solitary hunter isolated and alone on a distant and ominous planet, and the incorporation of the other bounty hunters and the galactic federation makes the player feel like a part of an army, rather than a one-woman wrecking crew. Second, the hypermode mechanic was absolutely gamebreaking, even at some of the higher difficulty levels. Finally, the Wii motion-specific actions like the welding beam and the shield-grapple felt gimmicky, rather than meaningful contributing to the gameplay. While I think Prime 1 and 2 both deserve perfect 10's, this one feels more like an 8 or an 8.5. Not bad, but not at the level set by its predecessors.
Soundtrack wise, it’s hard to say if Prime 2 or Prime has the best soundtrack but I would put Prime 2 above Prime 1. Even so… the Gandrayda’s theme is hands down the best boss soundtrack if not the best soundtrack in all 3 games
I didn't like it on the wii as I cant stand motion controls so I dropped it after a few hours. I only beat the game about 2 or 3 years ago when I played the PC version with Mouse and Keyboard and I found it very enjoyable.
Honestly, Prime 2 was my least favorite, it felt really tedious for me, Prime 1 is my favorite and Prime 3 is my second. The more linear and story focused reminded me of Fusion, which I already loved.
honestly if i could play corruption with a gamecube controller it would be as good as the others. I like to take my time to explore and scan everything and batteries are expensive 😂
I think the reason it tells you where to go isn't just because of it being on the Wii, but also because of the traveling between planets. Since you have to sit through essentially long loading screens, backtracking would be a lot more annoying if the game didn't say what planet you need to visit. I wish it would have been more vague though.
Skytown was well worth it , fighting the other bounty hunters was so anti climatic as we barely even knew them , the more cinematic approach kiled the pacing a lot , and the bacl tracking wasnt as strong as the other 2 prime games
1. Echoes 2. Prime 3. Corruption Corruption was a great game but it had its flaws. Only reason corruption is worst in series is because of how insanely good the previous 2 titles were.
I really like that you eventually become alone in this game. You have allies at the beginning and slowly lose them as the game progresses, even having to bring down your fellow hunters all while fighting off the very same corruption
I played 1 and 3 and 2 was the hardest to maintain my interest. Corruption seemed at its best until the final boss, among other things. Echoes seems to rely on backtracking to a degree that made me feel queasy. At that, the game feels very small and linear for a great portion of the game, and the environments seem very bland.
Worst in trilogy? Well, yeah... kind of? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's still a GREAT Metroid game, even as a Metroid Prime game in comparison to first two in trilogy depending on how you judge these three against each other. I am sucker for great mixture of art, atmosphere, mystique, combat, plot and exploration in a Metroid game. Prime 1 and 2 nailed all of these as perfectly as a game could get. Prime 3? Unfortunately it stumbled heavily on exploration as it is quite more linear than the first 2 and wasn't as satisfying to explore and uncover secrets. And the plot, why very much enjoyable, isn't as mysterious as other two games, so that's another mark against Prime 3. Even so, I can't hate the game because the combats are exceptionally fun with Hypermode functionality and the art style is arguably the strongest in series (personally, I feel Prime 2 has the best art) and the sci-fi vibes stand up against some of AAA games, especially Halo series.
Prime 3 definitely has some moments it does very well but I feel like it's overall the weakest. Prime 1 and 2 have certain magic about the atmosphere that Prime 3 can't quite measure up to.
Nah, MP3 is pretty good at worst. It even does something a little different than MP and MP2, with other bounty hunters and planets to meet and see. While I wouldn't say MP3 is my favorite of the bunch, it's not slouching either.
I would say yes, I couldn't eve ho through the whole thing but stopped when reaching Elysia IIRC. And it's for one thing and one thing alone: the controls. Everyone is praising the Prime 3/Trilogy controls but I just can't stand them, and it made me lose interest because it was just so uncomfortable playing it. I never owned a Wii and haven't tried that many Wii games on my Wii U, and the controls just don't work for me at all. Mario Galaxy 2 is the only he where I've been able to tolerate them, but even then they're the biggest flaw of that game.
lacking action with the ship green tokens were not possible to get in story mode hyper mode is a double edge sword the backtracking is ass stacking beams stubborn welding useless power ups ugly suit the phazon beam sucks the bosses are a serious pain, garbage fights, attacks and damage
This is a really unpopular opinion but I actually think prime 1 is the worst. Don't get me wrong I still really like prime 1 of course, but in my opinion the subsequent sequels did everything prime 1 did but expanded, refined, and more original than prime 1

imo echoes is the worst. two whole ass maps to keep track of trying to find my way quickly went from fun and new to aggrevatingly difficult and a nuisance. Finished it last year, tried it again recently and it still feels off for me because of that. drained the game of its enjoyment for me. Prime 3 was okay imo. not great, but at least enjoyable. However, the sense of isolation wasn't there anymore at all imo and it was way too short. Those are my biggest points of critique for it
I would have to say 3 is indeed my least favorite but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. 2 is the best in my opinion. It’s challenging but it’s vast amount of content is incredible. I would die for a remastered Prime 2 the same way they did with the first
I like all of them. I try to 100% all the Metroid games. Prime 2 is the best I can't wait for prime 4 beyond. It's been 18 years since we had a 3d Metroid and no other m wasn't a 3d Metroid. It was mostly 2d with discount Metroid prime and federation force was a spinoff.

The motion controls were really fun in this game all things considered. Felt a lot more immersive that way for me.
You already can turn off the hints in Corruption. It's an option in the settings.
Sky town is heavenly
@@chrisdaily2077 dude same. I’m so excited for mp4. I might give motion controls a go here and there.
Imo Prime 3 was the best one in terms of being cinematic. The best weapons and visors was prob Prime 2 though.
idk if prime 2 would get weapons as they had a shitty ammo system as apposed to prime 1 having all the beams with no ammo restriction
I hope they put this game on switch with the twin stick controls
im hoping for metroid prime 2 remake on switch as well, the prime games play really good with a control scheme like the switch
@@sulejmani. that would be cool 😎
You can play the game via primehack with twin stick controls
I love all 3. Echoes is my favourite, but I will say MP3 is the most fun to pick up a play, and Skytown is my favourite Prime level in the series.
It is certainly the easiest to just start up and play. Echoes is great, but each playthrough feels like a heavy commitment a lot of the time.
@@goergebobicles1351really? If you've beat it before, it should only take 4-7 hours to playthrough it again
Prime 3 has always been my favorite to play through, the motion controls are so smooth
Prime 3 seems to be the one Game where the motion controls feel good and I'm someone who grew up with the Wii and is used to motion controls.
Metroid was always my favourite character in this series. As a superfan he is my favourite...
The aurora units looking like mother brain is not a coincidence. She is a rogue chozo aurora unit.
Technically, Mother Brain was created before the Aurora Units came into existence. So she's the grandmother of the Aurora Units.
@@kidprime6863you missed the point jayhawktuah was making. Of course the AU's resemble MB. They are ancestors of MB's tech
I once let my mom play Corruption. Later, when she saw me playing it, she was impressed with how smoothly I could navigate it.
Did she beat it?
Regarding the trilogy, this game:
-Is the easiest to navigate
-Is the easiest to 100%
-has the best 100% reward (motha-effin SYLUX BAYBEE!)
-while it doesn't have the most iconic bosses, it also does not have the War Wasp hives, Alpha Blogg, or Spider Guardian
-actually has the ship do things
-has the best grapple abilities in the series (suck it, Other M, Returns, and even Dread)
-while it has bad loading times, it's at least honest with them (as it turns out, the chozo ghosts and dark pirates were supposedly measures implemented to compensate for loading times)
-allows massively less restriction with motion controls.
-HAS THE JUMPBALL THAT PRIME 2 SORELY NEEDED.
Granted, Prime Hunters will always be my pick for best Prime Game, but Metroid Prime 3 is legit a great time. Possibly my second favorite.
The Chozo ghosts and the pirate commandos were loading screens? Wow, today I learned.
Spider Guardian was awesome! Prime 3 had some pretty amazing boss fights though, probably my favorites in the entire series.
In my opinion Prime 2 is the worst I'm not saying I hate the Game it's just my least favorite.
Prime 3 is my favorite game of the trilogy. Every prime game is good
Said the discord mod
Wow, you're the only person I've ever heard say the Aurora Unit fight is better than the Dark Samus fight.
Motion controls for Metroid are the best way to play and something I didn't mention is that you can do some things with M controls that you can't do with GC controllers.
no. They're all good.
What you guys talking about Metroid Prime 3 Corruptions such a amazing game
The ONLY Wii game with good motions control that help improving the immersion I played, even counting the two Mario Galaxy
RE4 on the wii was amazing too.
I love metroid prime 3 and nothing can take it away from me
8:23 actually the doors taking longer to open was a bug that the devs overlooked in MP3: Corruption.
I don't remember asking you about all that 🤔
At the end of Prime 4, Samus is going to say, “To infinity, and beyond!” in Buzz Lightyears voicr
Prime 3 is weird. Feels less Metroid and more... Like a flip flop of all sorts of weird ideas.
A big problem with Prime 2 in particular is that a lot of the "ease of access" shortcuts through the game only open up when you have Power Bombs, whereas Prime 1 gives them to you fairly early on without needing later upgrades than when you can first encounter the need for them like Prime 2 does
The only place in Prime 1 that is a headache to access is Phazon Mines, which you only need 2 trips to to 100% that area anyway.
Answer: No
I enjoyed Prime 3 the most, mostly because of the story and interactions with other characters.
Yes, great video and surprised to see less than 1K subscribers
Being the worse doesn't mean being bad. It's not as good as the first two, but it's good. My first in the Prime series and the reason why I'm more into Metroid as a brand. Can't wait for Prime 4.
Echos is easily the worst in the trilogy, and one of the worst Metroid games honestly. I guess I’d rather play it than MPP tho
The whole trilogy is amazing! Prime 1 is my most favorite one, though :)
Yes, and the first was the best
Prime is still very good but it's a "you had to be there" experience that gets people saying it's the best
@@trashaimgamer7822 I agree and stand by 2 being my favorite.
And also, best space pirate design in the series.
metroid prime, metroid prime echoes, metroid prime corruption, in that order
And the last portion collecting the dark keys hidden all over the map was lame, forcing you to revisit the whole dark world map all over again.
lol prime was before halo
The entry reeks of youth
It was created for the Wii. What did you expect?
The most insulting part is no keyboard and mouse support. Not even in Prime Remastered.
All three Prime games are great, but Echoes ranks last for me
Prime 1 layed the foundation for the series to take off in a new direction and blew us all away.
Me being left handed does make the game more difficult but the wii zapper helps with making the aiming less confusing
Major props playing with the wii zapper, thats cool
For me...
Prime 2 > 3 >/= 1
All 3 are excellent tho.
I feel like, with the way it controls, a Metroid Prime 3 VR mod would be amazing
1. Echoes
2. Prime
3. Corruption
Corruption was a great game but it had its flaws. Only reason corruption is worst in series is because of how insanely good the previous 2 titles were.
They really need to remaster 2 and 3 and port them to switch before 4. I don’t feel like finding a copy for the Wii or play on an emulator
I really like that you eventually become alone in this game. You have allies at the beginning and slowly lose them as the game progresses, even having to bring down your fellow hunters all while fighting off the very same corruption
what? Metroid Prime 3 is amazing!
I only find myself replaying mp1 and mp2
Obviously the best Metroid Prime game is Metroid Prime Pinball
I mean, it’s a pretty high bar!
I will always defend this game. It wasn’t bad, just went for a very different thing than the first two.
I couldnt even finish Prime 3 because i kept forgetting the controls
13:25 the 2D series is the predecessor series to metroid prime which is a spin-off series, as in the 2D series is mainline.
My problem with 3 is that it was to easy, you had to set the difficulty to its highest to even have a bead of sweat appear on my brow.
I think that Samus secretly smokes cigarettes. I have reason to believe she is a closet smoker. 😮💨
Prime 3 definitely has some moments it does very well but I feel like it's overall the weakest. Prime 1 and 2 have certain magic about the atmosphere that Prime 3 can't quite measure up to.
The prime series is amazing game
The wii controler in corruption was so much fun specially with the ped upgrade destroy monster so fast
Mario Galaxy 2 is the only he where I've been able to tolerate them, but even then they're the biggest flaw of that game.
lacking action with the ship
green tokens were not possible to get in story mode
hyper mode is a double edge sword
the backtracking is ass
stacking beams
stubborn welding
useless power ups
ugly suit
the phazon beam sucks
the bosses are a serious pain, garbage fights, attacks and damage
This is a really unpopular opinion but I actually think prime 1 is the worst. Don't get me wrong I still really like prime 1 of course, but in my opinion the subsequent sequels did everything prime 1 did but expanded, refined, and more original than prime 1
Can't wait for the remaster. Hope it's as good as the prime remaster.

imo echoes is the worst. two whole ass maps to keep track of trying to find my way quickly went from fun and new to aggrevatingly difficult and a nuisance.
The answer is obvious: Metroid Prime Pinball should be your next video. Don't cop out and give a brief overview; really beat it.
