Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
No items in battle (only held)
No overleveling the next gym leader's highest level pokemon

That was actually what happened, Flamethrower had a range to kill, but Empoleon survived to a low roll and then Aqua Jet Torrent boosted got the kill

Someone's probably pointed this out already but Empoleon was able to take out Magmortar with the 2nd Aqua Jet because it'd been knocked into Torrent range by Flamethrower, giving it the boost it needed to kill

Agreed. Yes the radio voice, the breakdowns in strategy are all great, but it's the humor. Ex: The video where he jokes about the NPCs talking about Potion Festivals. Also when he poked fun of FlygonHG's 'unique' pronunciations of pokemon and called him Fliggon. Then later in the video proceeded to pronounce his Flygon as Fliggin.. I fucking lost it lmao. It's the little things like that that make the vids top tier.

I think Scorbunny is my favorite first stage starter. The way it bounces and has so much energy is really endearing and I like its unique take on using fire, creating heat by friction instead of having a "fire sack" like every other fire starter.

In its defence i hate all 3 of the starters in jts gen so it may just be me. My favorite starter of all time is treecko's evolution chain. ESPECIALLY ash's with his little cocky twig in his mouth. Peak design

Yeah I like popplio's line, I think it's the most underrated alola starter when comparing it to rowlet and litten.

That was an incredible run! I’m surprised you didn’t even end up picking up a Wormadam Trash Cloak. I mean it’s not an incredible mon but having a steel type not weak to fighting and ground would have really helped out in the mid-game
In case you were wondering Antler, the reason you were able to take out the Magmortar against flint was because you lived the hit in torrent range so you got the extra attack buff.

Out of all the types, steel probably has the highest chance of having a deathless nuzlocke run ( correct me if I'm wrong )

Honestly I’m really glad I found this guy’s channel cause all of these videos are honestly great plus I also learn some things about these games I played through my childhood that even today my 22 year old butt still didn’t know existed. I hope the videoed keep on rocking! Also favorite first form starter would probably be Snivy from Unova. It just had so much sass and I love it!

That Flamethrower low roll then Torrent boost in the Flint fight was absolute mad luck.

In fact, there was some luck with Magmortar's move in the first place. It knows Thunderbolt. In Manic's Fatal Platinum it used it on Nero the Empoleon, got a crit, and almost killed Nero (it didn't, and Nero retaliated with a Torrent-boosted Surf). Here, it using Flamethrower instead allowed Emperor to survive and retaliate with a Torrent-boosted Aqua Jet.
Actually loved this vid, now one of my favourite ones by our favourite boy. Steal types being my absolute favourite typings but would love to see grass or fairy type only in brilliant diamond/shining pearl.

I can’t help but always love Kabutops, it’s such a solid design and I always enjoy using it. As for a starter, my favorite has to be Chimchar. Love monkeys and he’s such a cute mon evolving into one of my all time favorites Infernape

The RNG Gods and Lord Helix definitely blessed Antler in the Elite Four fights against Flint and Cynthia. Like the low roll from Magmortar's Flamethrower to Empoleon mattered, the Torrent boost mattered, and even the flinch from the Iron Head as well! And to cap it all off, it's also a deathless run too! Fantastic Hardcore Nuzlocke from a fantastic PokéTuber.
In fact, the RNG was in his favor when Magmortar went for Flamethrower in the first place. See, it knows Thunderbolt. Which almost certainly would have killed Emperor had he used it. However, because he went for Flamethrower instead, that allowed Emperor to finish it off with a Torrent-boosted Aqua Jet.

The only runs where the starter can actually be used, besides Grass, Fire, and Water runs are: Poison (Kanto), Flying (Kanto, Alola, Hisui), Fighting (Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Hisui), Ground (Hoenn, Sinnoh), Steel (Sinnoh), Psychic (Kalos), Dark (Kalos, Alola, Hisui), Ghost (Alola, Hisui), and Fairy (Alola).
Super happy to see another steel run!! I dunno if it's coincidence or not, but I did ask for this a while back!

I recommend choosing Dracovish as your “-vish” fossil. It’s fairly-fast with Choice Scarf Fishous Rend (not sure if I spelled that right lol).

I have a soft spot for piplup too, mainly because I always pick the water starters (to always have a surf pokemon without fishing) and because they were my partner for Myster Dungeon Time. Otherwise Snivy is great; so beautifully arrogant!

Great run! Bulbasaur is my favorite first stage starter due to being my first, but popplio and mudkip are really close seconds that carried my teams in their respective games! I sadly lost my marshtomp in a recent Sapphire nuzlocke to a random trainer's exploding baltoy before gym 4 though. I was full health but it hit a crit and took me out. RIP Riptide T.T
As for my favorite fossil, it's aurorus! It's just so elegant and reminds me of the one aurora I saw as a child!

Favorite fossil? Lord Helix, of course. Honorable mentions to Kabutops, and Archeops.
Favorite Gym Leader? Hm... That's actually a tough question. So I think I'll answer per region. Kanto, it's Blaine. Johto, Jasmine. Hoenn, Roxanne. Sinnoh, Gardenia. Unova, Burgh. Kalos, Olympia. Galar, Piers.
My favorite fist stage starters of every type, would be:
Water: Totodile and Mudkip
Grass: Bulbasaur and Rowlett
Fire: Chimchar and Litten

I like the theme naming you used. It reminded me of the fight against Evice in "Pokémon Colosseum" since all his Mons follow a similar theme. Also, very clever calling Cyrus the Mad Titan.
Mudkip is probably my favorite first stage, and even with Defeatist I love Archen and Archeops

My favorite fossil Pokemon is Aerodactyl, while it may be an obvious choice I always been a fan of pterosaurs and it's the closest we have
I saved my u turn for Aerodactyl but when I looked at the tms Aerodactyl can use u turn wasn't on the list

Honestly....is it bad that I want you to someday do a coop series with someone like honestly I feel like a cagelocke or just a randomizer nuzlocke with you and another person and unedited would be kind of neat. Either case I think the only challenge I can think of would only be in legends since not many people have nuzlocked it well.

Shieldon is easily my favorite fossil and when the crown tundra came out it made me appreciate Shieldon even more because unlike the other fossils cranidos and Shieldon did not make the cut
My favorite 1st stage starter has to be Scorbunny - he’s got a cute little bandaid on his nose - and gen 8 was the first gen I played, as I got into Pokémon as an adult. Thanks for the great comment!

This is a cool looking nuzlocke to watch, since steel is the best and my favorite type to use
Flower Gift doesn't boost speed, only physical attack and sp.def, but you would still take a lot of damage regardless.
Steelix is heavy and has poor sp.def.
Grass Knot is a special move that powers up the heavier the target.
Another great nuzlocke! When I first saw this, I thought Oh god Cynthia's Garchomp. But you made it work! I think without Lucario and Bronzong, you would've lost.

Hey AntlerboyLive, you should play a "catch 1 of each type" run. Probably in Shield because of the variety...could be a cool challenge! Another idea I had was "route expert". You challenge each gym with the pokemon found in the surrounding routes. It kind of makes me think about the npcs that live near the gym and might only have access to those pokemon. Could be cool to see how you have to adapt given each route and how they pair up with the respective gyms. Love your content!

Great video as always, not sure how viable it would be for a video but maybe do something like a Monotype challenge in X or Y but rather than it being only one type you only use pokemon with single typing. Bonus points if you don't double up the types.
