Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodturning and woodworking, ties it all together. We do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning. - Навчання та стиль

Great Flowers Carl, Glade your back on your feet...
Thank you
I'm a new turner but was watching this video and I used a multi tool to cut the flowers out and it worked really great!!
Walnut? That is about the best turning wood I can think of. Such a shame they can't get it in the UK. Great project Carl. I really enjoyed watching. Thanks
Thank you Tom
Oh you have Walnut in the states Tom??
Hello Carl:
The mark of a craftsman... sanding to perfection!

On a Map!
Yes Sam got it
Just turned 3 for valentines day. Very easy and an excellent idea. Thanks for the idea!
Thank you Jordan
Great idea Carl and a great remake of your flower project from 3 years ago.
For Valentine's there's nothing better than everlasting flowers for an everlasting love. But you have to be careful, despite the flowers don't need attention to stay, you'll have to work hard to keep your love, but working pays, as the love might grow with the years to come and even makes you stronger.
"Map" as the answer to your question where you can find an ocean without water seems to me little controversy. I see these "waterless oceans" also inside emotion, motion. (just look at the phonetics) And as the map is a picture (or drawing) of an ocean these are real "oceans". -- Just an idea from a twisted mind.
Greetings from Good Old Germany
Peter
Real nice Carl. Your a real craftsman.
Thank you

+Daniel Choate Thank you Daniel! I look forward to seeing some of your work!
Daniel Choate i
Hey Carl you really need to make yourself the Woodworker's pencil from Woodcraft or PSI. The pencil has several different colored leads that can write on most materials. I made one and love it.
That would definitely come in handy.
I wonder if you ever made tuning pegs. I'll bet they could be made like a spoon. But they are cupped on both sides for thumb and finger.
Most carve or whittle them I guess.
I learn a lot watching your channel. Still have not tried my new lathe. It intimidates me.
Hi Joseph, I've never turned pegs for a guitar before. Just start with some thing small you'll get it. :)
Those are great Carl. I could watch you do that all day. I may have to try these too. My to do list is getting longer. lol
Thank you Steve, that's the great thing about woodworking there's always another project to do :)
I thought it might be the Sea Of Traquility. Maybe next time. You always have good informitive videos. thank you.
Thank you Bradley
Really nice Carl just what I need for a few brownie points as its also my wife and I 31st wedding memorial, I mean anniversary this month :-}
Thank you Troy, this will definitely get you some brownie points :)
Carl Jacobson Hmmm! I must just look like a Troy again and not a "Tony" lol
All the best Carl
>>>>>TONY
***** Sorry Tony :)
Very nice Carl. Seems like a bit of an improvement from the last video you did on flowers.
Thank you Jordan, I think so too much easier to hollow out.
On a map
on a map :)
very nice
Здорово ! Молодец !
Great job! I noticed while you were sanding, you used some sort of wax mixture while you were sanding. I have always dry sanded, but I'm very interested in that mixture you were using. Thanks again for sharing your concepts in turning flowers with me. I also saw your other video on turning flowers, using a block of wood and cutting them prior to turning them. Which method do you prefer?Tommy Schutz
Thank you Tommy! I sand with Howard beeswax conditioner. It cuts down on the sanding dust, and is a nice finish. astore.amazon.com/thewood0c-20/detail/B00DKWRNZ0 I really haven't made to many I'm not sure what's the easiest way.
An ocean with no water is on a map
Another quick way to cut them is put them on a sled with an angle on it so the flower won't roll off the sled. Make sure the sled slips around on the bed of the band saw and use a thin blade to make your cuts. If you have a sharp new band saw blade you shouldn't have a lot of sanding to do.
Really great technique and that hollowing tool looks much easier to use than the one with the laser! I wonder how thin you can turn the flowers? One of these days I'll find a job and be able to afford a lathe and try out all these things I'm learning.
Thank you Elizabeth! Ya the hollowing tool works great.
veramente belli,complimenti..
on the moon
Muy original
Mars :)
Very nice Carl. I have lots of offcuts so off to gain so brownie points. What have you started?
Great idea thanks for sharing
David
Thank you David, It's a great way to use to all those craps.
I've subscribed to your channel for some time now and really enjoy your projects. This is the first, however, that I've actually tackled myself. I'd love to send some photos in- how best to do so?

Great work Carl. what is the flower vase made of?
Thank you, the vase is Maple.
Ocean no water - Map
a map has oceans with no water.
Is it the Moon?
The answer is desert
Answer to the riddle - The Moon
12:12 Carl, was Chewbacca in your shop? It sure sounds like he was!
That's funny, it does sound just like him.
On a map or globe, Antartica has an ocean of ice, Sahara is an ocean of sand.
