I'm no expert, but it looks like your next purchase should be a vacuum pot to stabilize the wood before using the pressure pot with the epoxy. Good job, and thanks for the video
I think anyone in their right mind would call this a challenge, beginners like us, especially so 😁 So good on ya for meeting the challenge 👍 If I were to try a long vase like this I'd start with the forstner bit and add bit extenders until it's deep enough. Then figure a worst case of 'stick fingers in to feel how smooth he got it' and work to that depth only. Should be doable don't ya think ? Or purchase some honking big and long chisels, say 3 feet 😁 -Mike
Thank you. It's a pressure pot, but I would have used a vacuum chamber on this if I had one. I really just wanted to stabilize the wood, but this was my only option
Turned out really nice. But I'm not a big fan of resin. I like to see wood shavings coming off a turning, not those resin streamers. I'm all for filling knot holes and cracks with resin but on so many projects you end up seeing more resin than wood. But, to each their own.
Hello. I watch your videos with interest. But unfortunately I do not speak English. I'm interested in the Turning Tool you use. How durable are they? do they require sharpening? Tell us please, if not it is difficult.
@@careymcintosh5272 He may be, but I know of know one who would do something for his own sake and video it. All I was trying to tell him is that he may want to look into some forms to enhance his turning experience. How else is he going to learn if everyone tells him he is doing ok (falsely)
I mean, so what if he wants to video it. Maybe videoing it is self satisfying. Who’s to say that you or him knows more about design, form and shapes, it’s all very subjective and personal taste. What are your credentials to make your judgement, he has displayed his to me.

Far to many adverts on this channel to be able to watch your video's without being hounded to death with all the adverts. Sorry they made this video so unenjoyable i had to turn it off. So ive not be able to press the like button. But i havnt pressed the dislike button either to be fair to you.
If you look not very hard at all, you can see where I took a nice chunk out of the top... At least I was able to glue it back this time!
This is worthy of a Designer tropical living room.
Thanks!

I've seen those extensions, but haven't had a need for them until now. Another thing on my wish list!
Neat, must try resin myself
It's easier than it looks!
Why use the resin? I'm curious. Is it because the drift wood is so soft?
Yes super soft and super catchy
Good work cook... Make Big size bolt and nut in wood....
Nice video. Thank you. Did you use a pressure pot or a vacuum pot?
Thank you. It's a pressure pot, but I would have used a vacuum chamber on this if I had one. I really just wanted to stabilize the wood, but this was my only option
From what I have seen since this video a pressure pot is the way to go.

At 7:00 what is the tool called your using to start hollowing it out. Some kind of router bit?
I read that as "turning drift wood into a log"

Stabilise the wood with cactus juice.
What was the product you put on just before the conditioner?
How do you like the the savannah carbide tools
Love them. Really comfortable to use and I haven't felt limited at all with them yet

Nice, but you sure used up a lot of resin.
I can appreciate the work of turning, however you may want to find a book on design and learn some more about forms and shapes.
Why? He is doing this to satisfy himself not you or anybody else. Turns out lots of people like it judging by the comments.
