I love my small, not tiny, kitchen. I cook and bake all the time. The best thing I ever did was to get a great island. So many people are afraid to get an island in a smaller kitchen, but it makes the kitchen look larger. Our old stove has that large extra top space that is great for additional prep, or after cooking dinner, keeping the food warm. I keep my large cast iron Lodge deep skilket oiled, always ready and on the stove. It does not fit in any cabinet, so keeping it at the ready is best for me. Fresh flowers and small lamps are great for that warm and inviting feel.
Our kitchen is typical German 1960’s townhouse small. But incredibly well designed. The two big assets - drawers for all under-counter storage & a pull out pantry.
My apartment has a tiny (10x6) kitchen with one double outlet. I have to put my microwave on the counter, but also need space for food prep and a dish drain. I got a two-tier dish drain on Amazon, which only takes up 9” of real estate (most standard dish drains are 18”). On the opposite wall, I have a magnetic knife rack, and a painting (garden, impressionist style), which brings color and life into the kitchen. I also swapped out the cabinet/drawer handles for sleeker, more comfortable ones.
Thank you for showing real kitchens - the type most people have. It's much easier now to envision what our small and standard kitchens can look like instead of showing large, expensive, aspirational kitchens. The only thing I would recommend is getting rid of the dish drainer on the counter. If you have a dishwasher, use that instead. If you don't, you can by a low drainer and keep it in the sink. IMHO, a dishdrainer is an eyesore, requires more maintenance (always draining the thing under it, cleaning the little basket in it, shining it up if it's stainless steel or chrome), and takes up valuable counter space. If you notice kitchens in listed home, they remove virtually everything from the counters to make them look more spacious.
Beautiful small kitchens. So pretty! My biggest tip for really tiny kitchens is to use wall cabinets on the floor, and bathroom cabinets on the walls. They're much less deep than standard cabinets. 🙂
New subscriber, loved this video and will be watching you other videos as soon as time allowed. I have downsized in retirement and am struggling to style a much smaller home.
I call my tiny kitchen my French kitchen. I lived in Paris when I was a child so I remember small kitchens. Anyway my cabinets are few and much too high to use often. My sink is a single, if I owned this duplex the sink is the first thing I would change. All in all I make the most of things. I have a gas stove which makes up for the lack of space.
Nice content. I live in a medium sized, dated condominium. I'm a renter. So, I'm careful what I use to put things on the walls... especially in the small kitchen. Likewise, I'm not exactly sure how to decorate the kitchen. To this point, your video has given me some pretty cool ideas. Thanks. I'll check out the rest of the videos. Hopefully, those vids can assist me too. Sending love and fun wishes, from North Carolina, USA🤗🌻☕.
Hi there I hope you can help. Where can I find the small spice shelf unit next to the red cabinets towards the beginning of the video? I have been looking for something just like that!!
Call in an expert to seal up any open places near pipes. Once you fix that, you should not have any issues. Using peppermint oil mixed with water in a spray bottle will keep your home bug-free, keeping spiders and ants and mosquitoes and bees far away. They may be water-bugs, which are a type of roach family, but not the nasty ones found in apartment complexes where someone lives nearby in filth.
That's more room than I have I live in a RV. I love my home God bless ❤

Gotcha 😊
Try putting your dinner plates in a bathroom cabinet…if you shop once a month or for a large group the shallow cabinets will disappoint you
That’s exactly what I did in a small craft room I created for myself!!!
I use a rack and stand the plates up in the cabinet.
I like the kitchen at 5:22 minutes. I am looking forward to moving into a small home with a smaller kitchen. 🌻
Your thoughts resonated with mine❤,keep it simple, functional n personal, hence delightful
I have a small kitchen which I love. However there's always room for improvement. Thank you for sharing. Love this❤

Get rid of anything you don't use. This is full of nonsense causing clutter

How to prevent cockroach in kitchen?
