I've been racing a Giant Revolt in regional gravel races for the past two years. The courses are mostly varying grades of gravel with some asphalt. I would strongly advise anyone considering your suggestions to limit the gravel use to well groomed roads or paths with fine sized gravel. The tire limitations will otherwise make it a very regrettable choice.
I have this caledonia and I love it supper fast and I have made few updates like yellow tires and computer looks awesome and very comfortable I usually do 50 miles now I can do 80 miles more comfortable
The Felt VR Endurance bikes are worth a look too- 34mm stated clearance, probably go 35mm easy-different aluminum and carbon builds available at different price points.
I've been riding a jamis nova sport cheap 400 quid bike on England/Welsh hilly B roads 32mm is fine the only trouble is hear range order tire size in all these bikes for none extreme riders need a sub compact
I'd pay the 200 to 300 extra for another brand if I had to wait for more than 6 month or even a year. Canyon is great value, but with those delivery times i'd pass.
Instead of Canyon Endurance why not a CUBE Attain Race? Same bike - (full set tiagra, disk breaks, 9.89kg ) for 400euro's less ( probably around that price in $ too )
I think a relaxed geometry road bike. But could take a slightly wider tire so ok for gravel. Basically made for being comfortable over long distances on pavement is where they are best.
@@aks1747 at the end of the video, I mentioned the Trek Domane lol. I left that one of off this list because I had it in another video. You are correct though. That one actually might be the best all arounder.
I ride my 3cm suspension gravelbike on asphalt (and dirt/gravel) with 44 mm tyres and I like it. On bad asphalth big tyres are nice. I guess thin tyres are more aero, but I am strong enough to go as fast as I like with fat tyres. And there are of course compromisetyres that works well. For example 38mm tyres. The problem with some gravelbikes is that the gearsetup does lack a superheavy fast gear. I have roadwheels to, but they are sitting on my roadbike that I have not used yet this spring, because the gravelbike is supernice.
If a race bike with lotsa spacer below stem is it consider endurance geometry? Example if my SL7 saddle to handlebar drop is 3cm and same as an cervelo Caledonia 5. Would they fit the same?
Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)Saves so much electricity compared to the heat pump. Wish it was a little less noisy.
Specialized (Roubaix) and Trek (Domane) virtually invented this category. They bascally have micro-suspension and 38mm Tyres. Why are they omitted? I have a Domane SL5 Disc (about 6 years old) and it's smoother, and faster, over poor road surfaces than anything I've ever ridden. Including Argonaut bikes and discussing starting prices of $10,000 is idiotic and time-wasting for 99.99% of riders who want to ride on road and an occasional bit of rough lane.
Excellent for beginners and daily commuters
Specialized Roubaix SL8. Endurance bike, future shock, 40mm clearance. Have fun!
@@brandonhoffman4712 a good one indeed!

Been waiting for this one!! Thanks dude 🍻
I should have shouted you out in the beginning. This was your idea and I ran with it. Thank you again! 🍻

Cervelo makes some nice bikes..
@@TysRides definitely

Thank you! I will check that one out.
Agreed.
I can’t agree more with the road radar. Its like like having a spare set of eyes in the back of you head. Useless everywhere but road riding though.
I love my merida scultura endurance
great video. Are u able to rank in order which one of these bikes u would lean to and why?
I appreciate it! I really wouldn't be able to rank them because I haven't ridden them. I think the Cervelo is cool though.

Delivery time for Canyon Endurance in Germany is currently August 2024!!! Yes, 2024, not 2023. Unbelievable.
That is insane.

All are very nice bikes. But max out at 35c so I know why gravel bikes are so popular and many at much more affordable pricing.
Just what I was looking for. So not the Giant Contend AR?
I just looked up the contend. That bike would fit into this same category.

I dont really get the definition of endurance in endurance bike. Is it a gravel bike or a relax geometry road bike?
I think a relaxed geometry road bike. But could take a slightly wider tire so ok for gravel. Basically made for being comfortable over long distances on pavement is where they are best.
Leaving the trek Domane make this list questionable. You can put up to a 40mm tire on it (says 38mm on literature but I easily put 40mm no problem)
Yea I agree. I mentioned that bike at the end but didn't list it because I have included it in some other videos. It's an awesome bike!
Trek Domane is missing. I‘m changing between 28mm Schwalbe Pro One‘s and 40mm WTB‘s on my SL6. It‘s fast on tarmac and comfy on gravel.

Great video! What about good and fast gravel options that can go on the asphalt with an extra road wheelset?

Endurance bikes typically have different geometry from race bikes. Top tube is shorter and head tube is taller on endurance bikes.

Salsa Warroad?,
There are a few good ones I left off. I typically try to get 5 or so on the lists. Thanks for commenting. I may look at that one for another video.
