  • In my never ending quest for knowledge, you sometimes come across some bizarre things where you think "That never could have happened or have ever been a thing" Well did you know that back in the 18th and 19th centuries it was thought that you could resuscitate someone who had drowned by literally blowing smoke up their rectum? Why am I talking about this you may ask? I was experimenting with smoking cocktails and thought it would be the perfect anecdote. Surprisingly the cocktail I came up with based around this theme turned out excellent! And what better name to give it than - Blow it up your Ass. Sounds so much better than a cocktail called Blow it up your rectum. Oh yes and we also look at different ways you can smoke a cocktail, so the whole episode just isn't about smoking orifice.
    Cheers!

    BLOW IT UP YOUR A$$
    --------------------
USING A SMOKING GUN (OR ANOTHER SMOKING DEVICE), LIGHT THE WOOD CHIPS OF YOUR CHOICE AND ADD SMOKE TO A GLASS DECANTER.
COVER THE TOP OF THE DECANTER TO CAPTURE THE SMOKE.
    --------------------
IN A MIXING GLASS FILLED WITH ICE COMBINE:
1/2oz (15ml) - DARK RUM (Goslings Black Seal Rum)
1/2oz (15ml) - AMBER AGED RUM (Brugal Extra Viejo)
    1/2oz (15ml) - GRAND MARNIER
1 tsp (5ml) - CHERRY LIQUEUR (Luxardo Cherry Liqueur)
    1/4oz (7.5ml) - FRESHLY SQUEEZED LEMON JUICE
2 DASHES - SPICED CHERRY BITTERS
    --------------------
STRAIN THE CONTENTS INTO THE PREPARED DECANTER.
CAP THE DECANTER SO THE DRINK MINGLES WITH THE SMOKE.
SWIRL IT AROUND A FEW TIMES AND LET SIT UNTIL THE DESIRED SMOKINESS IS
    REACHED.
POUR INTO A ROCK GLASS OVER ONE LARGE ICE CUBE AND GARNISH WITH A
    ROSEMARY SPRIG.

Good info, good vibe. Keep up the good work, cheers. On a side note, I keep my smoke and my drinking separate.

One thing i do is liquid smoke. I put 100 ml of water in a 700ml bottle, fill it with smoke, let it set and repeat at least 5 times. The if i want that hint of smoke a dash shouod suffice

Not just any wood, Bruce. Pine would be like adding turpentine to your drink.

Awwesomme!! 😮 This made me think: should we try to maybe smoke a 100-Year-Old Cigar? 🤔 (It's actually the name of the drink. 😁)

That revival technique must be the origin of the idiom, "Blowing smoke up someone's ass" when you give them an insincere compliment.😅

You said anti-German things. And praised Churchill.
    Unsub! Why so anti-German?
