You have used your talents well. The relationship you put them in isn't love or hate or friendship. It's more of a platonic kismesis.
I don't ship Zim and Dib by any means- i see why people do it, but it's not my cup of tea. I see their closeness being a lot more sibling-like, in a sense that they have this dynamic of hating eachother, but they relate to eachother more than they think, and could be really good friends. I watched this whole video afraid it was gonna turn into something romantic and i would have to click away- but i was pleasantly surprised. Even with how the lyrics are sung next to the imagery, you get this sense of closeness between them that they only realize at the end of the animatic. Dib only wants to be acknowledged, and he always looks at Zim like a ticket into becoming seen and loved. But Zim only sees Dib and the Earth as HIS ticket to being seen and loved. "You're so fucking special" somehow hits harder with that context. They really can relate with eachother, and if Invader Zim was a drama, i'd definitely want them to have an arc like this. You did beautifully with this animatic. Absolutely loved it ❤
