Just in case you’re struggling to get this sound with a vibrato pedal, you’ll need to use a tremolo pedal. Marty calls it a vibrato setting at the start and that is probably a “fender amp vibrato” setting. Early fender amps labeled their tremolo circuits vibrato ( tremolo is volume up and down). Conversely the tremolo bar on a guitar actually does pitch up and down (vibrato). Thanks for the lessons Marty.
True. I have a 61' Fender Pro-Amp. 6g5. It is a tremelo effect but is called vibrato on the amp. The 6g5A was similar with 1 extra tube circuit in the later models and different tubes as well.
Man over a decade of Mr Marty, I think it would be so cool if u take ur best commenters and write down stuff we ask or say that you like and than catch us up with how you have been? Feels like I know ya personally and I can’t be the only one🥂
You are the best teacher in the entire internet😊😊.. Watching the video where you teach Can't stop by RHCP and learning it right now.. Much respect and love from me and from those who learn a lot from you😊
Fogerty plus in drop D and his brother former band mate played in standard tune the two combined was a harmonic drone sound . Most likely inspired from a blues influence ..
To me the beginning notes are iconic... almost like sweet home alabama, you can already tell what song it is. Great video btw really informal, thank you
Hey Marty, great song. You ought to hear it when they blast it over the sound system at a LSU football game on a Saturday night with a stadium that holds over 102,000 people, it will rock your world. Thanks, I hope things are going great !!!
I stumbled upon one of your videos by chance and now I’m hooked. All your videos that I’ve watched are detailed and you make them easy to follow. Just wish I had the ability to replicate what you teach. I played guitar a little in my younger days and now that I’m retired I have the time and desire to get back into it. Thanks for all you do.
Marty! Thanks for this great lesson. Also I support a few folks with Patreon and would prefer to do this with you each month. Your content is great and feel like I pinch it from you since I run adblock. I would much rather be a monthly patreon of Marty Music! Keep up the great work!!!
I think you teaching is really great that you could teacher at school and you would be an awesome guitar teacher, you would be the best teacher in the world.
Huh, I learned this song from an acoustic cover from Adam Pearce on here. And he plays that E7 with using the basic C7 shape on the 5th 6th and 7th fret and he used triads on the D and A chords. But this is a great lesson as always. Thanks Marty!
Marty, I've always played the opening E7 as a C7 shape with the root E on the 7th fret (A string). Start at B7 and slide up to the E7. On that chord, you'll be playing four E notes (really fills in the sound well). Then come back to the regular E7 for the strumming part. Try it out!
"Still - Seinabo Sey" Literally not a single video on youtube that teaches that song, so keep up the good work and please make a good video lesson. thanks!
I use a c7 on the ninth fret with a bar D and bar A. A buddy of mine saw CCR in concert and said he played the whole song on the upper half of the neck.
Hi Marty. I have this idea that it would be really cool for you to have a tour at the House of Blues locations around the country. I would love to watch you play in that type of environment.
Been following you for 6 years or so now and love this new channel Marty. Nice lesson here as well but one I would love to see you give a lesson on is John Fogertys (The Old Man Down the Road)
Didn’t you use the same guitar on the sweet child of mine solo tutorial way back, nice guitar, I can play that solo because of you by the way, thank you
Oh yes! Creedence Clearwater Revival!! Could you please do a tutorial on Cotton Fields? I want to play it so bad but I haven't found any tutorials and I can't get the sheet music to sound right!
"...haven't found any tutorials..." wtf-how can anyone be sayin that in the utooob era? Granted, your comment is 3yo, but... ua-cam.com/video/7SwSAVGPeWM/v-deo.html

How can a song so simple be so badass. Genius

See, Leo Fender was both a genius and a GODDAMN FUCKING IDIOT!!!
Leo wasn't a musician and didn't actually know the difference between the two
I love ccr i just can't get enough of it !!!!
This era of music talent never ceases to amaze me. "the beat goes on" good choice Marty.
Man over a decade of Mr Marty, I think it would be so cool if u take ur best commenters and write down stuff we ask or say that you like and than catch us up with how you have been?
Feels like I know ya personally and I can’t be the only one🥂
i would love to see marty doing some covers/improvisation of the songs he teaches or just any song in general. amirite?
You are the best teacher in the entire internet😊😊.. Watching the video where you teach Can't stop by RHCP and learning it right now.. Much respect and love from me and from those who learn a lot from you😊

You are the best teacher Marty. Love from Turkey!
Marty I love how you take an incredibly awesome song, & simplify it for the average guitar player. Kudos, m’man!!
To me the beginning notes are iconic... almost like sweet home alabama, you can already tell what song it is. Great video btw really informal, thank you

That's how fogerty plays it
Slide from A# to C7
Exactly. It's played up the neck. Some tremelo and a little amp break up and you're in swamp heaven.
Yes. You are correct, and once again as usual Marty misses the mark.
Exactly and thats the way i was taught at 12 years old. Its right and much better with a fender tremolo pedal. Its a simple song really.
"Still - Seinabo Sey"
Literally not a single video on youtube that teaches that song, so keep up the good work and please make a good video lesson. thanks!
Thanks Marty. Will come in useful for our (yet to happen) CCR Tribute band!
I use a c7 on the ninth fret with a bar D and bar A. A buddy of mine saw CCR in concert and said he played the whole song on the upper half of the neck.
