    Have had for proVista here in Southwest Florida for the last three years. It needs a lot of water! Chinch bugs took half of my backyard then weeds. Will re-sod with Floritam -front yard still looks good.

    To the moles, get the smoke bombs at the hardware store.. ignore the directions, light it in the hole, leaf blower the smoke into the system.. you'll be amazed where the smoke comes out.. your neighbors will thank you also. Anything in that hole is dead.. you're welcome

    Any directions on how to use glyphosate in Scott’s pro vista st Augustine? I used the store brand round up with the blue cap and it killed the grass instantly.

    • @LawnsAcrossAmerica
      @LawnsAcrossAmerica  Рік тому

      you want to read the active ingredients and ensure that it is only glyohosate. The brand "RoundUp" has many formulations. It;s probably easier to just get a generic - look for 41% glyphosate. mix that at 3oz/gallon

    Yeah, "coupling the lawn" would be great ("couples therapy") - but I am solo...except for the comments from my significant other about how it doesn't look "like it should" (whatever that means). Here in the Greater Seattle Area (Redmond-Woodinville actually) we are about to experience the "explosion of Spring" (middle-late March). Sadly, the mole(s) love my 2k sqft (sad face). This year, I have applied Prodiamine (the first time, have enough for a second app in a month) - with overseeding to come in the fall. Already have some dandelions. As to Latitudes, I grew up in W. Lafayette, IN (Boiler Up!) I now live at 47.7N - will let you know when I find the "Main Dandelion Bloom" ;-)

    Is they anywhere in Northern Virginia to buy Provista KBG sod? Based on what I have learned from Allyn's various Provista videos, I think I have a 1200 sqft section of lawn that would be ideal for converting to Provista KBG.

    Since provista doesn't get a nitrogen flush does this mean that it is tolerant to dog pee? Kgb provista? I would love to test that with my amstaff 😂

    I bought a house last year, mended some holes with soil and over seeded last fall. This year the holes and low spots in the back yard are worse. Extremely bumping while mowing. Should I use more topsoil? It doesn’t look like vole damage photos I’ve seen. I am using your liquid application recommendation from yard mastery this year. Also greetings from your old NWI stomping grounds

    I use your app schedule in conjunction with your soil test. My Floratam is doing great - but wonder if you’d suggest I go a little more heavy handed on my ProVista Saint Augustine when it comes to my fert apps to help push it a bit more? Or should I hit it with one of the liquid apps that contains N in between my scheduled granular apps? Or just stick to the schedule as is?

    Victor Deadset Mole Trap works the best and is the easiest to set up. I've tried every mole trap and this one is the only one that works. The scissor trap sucks. It's a real pain to set up.

    Reverend turf ! The podcast are certainly better with Q& A 's and the talks but this one was really great with the scott's guys . Is there any info on the kbg being more heat tolerant ? Up here in the heart of NC zone 7b we could use it . Keep on preaching bro !

    To what height could it be cut to? 1", 2"-2 1/2, 3"? What is recommended? 2nd week of March I used 24-2-11 fertilizer. 2nd week of April plan on high nitrogen again.

      3" is just perfect but you can train it lower if you want - just will require more mowing

    • @Thelawncarenut
      @Thelawncarenut Рік тому +1

      you can cut it whenever it needs it - probably sometime now would be great. be sure to feed it lots of nitrogen too!

    Great interview with the Scott's guys. Would love to pick their brains with the ProVista KBG. This is my first Spring with the sod installed in late June last year and trials and tribulations getting it down to 3/4". Now that its established looking forward to a good season and keeping up with the fertilizing, watering and mowing.

    • @Thelawncarenut
      @Thelawncarenut Рік тому +1

      You for sure should plan to scalp it in spring and hammer it with nitrogen to get it going! Thrower down like cowboy!
