I solved the battery issue by installing an inverter under my rear seat in my truck. Now I can charge in between jobs.

On the topic of gas v battery, my mower is 10 years old and starts on the first or second try. It cost me $280, it will cost me up to 4x the amount for a battery mower and I'll eventually need to buy new batteries which will not be cheap. So yeah, might be more convenient, but potentially way more expensive in the long run.
sadly, you are going to be forced to go battery pretty soon. Home Depot wants 80% of their sales to be battery products which means they won't even be carrying gas.

I love my ego mower and accessories, but the battery replacement after 4 years hurt a little.
