    Another example of the benefits of the wait time. When I got my vpin, I was lucky to get the 2.0 version. Now those currently in the queue can get the benefit of upgrading to this beast, which it sounds like many are going that option.
    Good things come to those that understand the wait, not the keyboard warriors that don't get it...
    Bravo XGC.

      Very true, but I just want to order this dazzling machine they're showing. It's like saying "the great thing about ordering this pizza is they deliver it late so you'll be extra hungry and get to pay for new toppings!"
      The video mentions a major backlog, yet I see they've only posted 1 video of a customer pinball project completion in the past couple months. Once they've posted more orders, I'll probably join the queue as he says in the video it's going to go down drastically.

      @@sabrejedi1392 Note the new software version. Putting two and two together WRT pinball releases. They held up machines on the floor/ready to ship to make sure they got the new system on them. I'd imagine there'll be a bunch of releases over the next couple of weeks.

      @bradporter482 Unfortunately cameras don't capture what the machine is like in person. The LED lighting/reflections, lens flares, etc. are magnified in videos, but your eyes interpret this info very differently. Anyone with an XGC pin with matrix lighting, full DMD etc. will say the same. Cool in videos, but jaw dropping in person.

      Good to know the matrix can be turned off. While I appreciate value adding by including features such as the matrix and LED strips along the side of the tables my personal preference is to keep the pinball as pure to the original (real) table as possible.

    • @dave6960
      @dave6960 9 днів тому

      An OLED 43 machine, essentially? This "may" be an option but a lot of manufacturers are phasing out 43 inch screens, so it might not be possible. I'm sure that a single matrix could be done in the Platinum...and the dimensions are identical, bar the slightly wider body. This is 30mm, or just over an inch. Length, backbox width, etc. are exactly the same. Height is the same as the Premium, but can differ slightly due to topper design....but this can be customised to your spec.

      @@bel303 Yeah, 42/43" is generally considered the sweet spot among vpin builders.A few have said they have tried 48" screens but the ball is way too big (like a golf ball!) and, although it fills the cab better, it doesn't look realistic. The new OLED looks great although image retention is a concern. With pinball being a pretty static image, this could lead to screen burn if one table is left on for an extended period of time despite TV manufacturer's claiming burn in is no longer something to be concerned with. Burn in (and reduced brightness compared to QLED) is why I bought a QLED instead of an OLED. QLEDS are brighter, no burn in issues and have blacks that are still excellent (even though the blacks on OLEDS are absolute).
    Still waiting on a TV that has OLED's blacks and response times with QLEDS brightness and lack of screen burn.

    • @dave6960
      @dave6960 9 днів тому

      Maybe a fair point with OLEDs from 3 or 4 years ago, but LG and Samsung, in particular, models from the last couple of years, a non-issue. Much better firmware, etc, and the conditions required for burn-in - max brightness/static image with high contrast (or a watermark) for a couple of months just don't happen on gaming machines, including vpins. The playfield isn't quite as static as it appears....and if a concern, just make sure attract mode is on if the machine is gonna run unattended for long periods.

      @@dave6960 I concur. I have an LG C2 that I use as a general PC monitor and other than having a blank wallpaper and no icons on the desktop I've done no other remedial considerations and it's been fine. No image retention and definitely no burn-in.

      @@dave6960OLED TV has too many reflections. And although they emit pure blacks, I don't think they're the best for gaming because of the lack of brightness in dark areas. Maybe my 40 years of age appreciate the high-end LED lighting. I also had a Pinball with the LG 48” C2 and I prefer monitor technology for gaming. In my living room I have a 55” Oled C2 for cinema.
