- Ronnie Shellist and Adam Gussow each blow harp through a series of four old tube amps in Adam's livingroom. The amps, left to right, are:
1) 1955 Fender Bassman (4x10")
2) 1960 Gibson Maestro GA-45 (4x8")
3) 1959 Premier Twin-8 (2x8"
4) 1950's Pacemaker (rare!) (1x12")

So great to spend time with you, teach with you and play through those killer amps Adam. Let's do it again soon.
Yes indeed! You sounded great through all that hardware, but as we know, it ain't the amps, it's the player--and the mic, of course. :)
Another crossover video with two legends. Hope y'all shot some more of these, because we want to see more!
Adam - you and Ronnie make some good vids as a team. 🤘🏽

This makes me lough out load with joy
I want Ronnie's tone. Its just dripping with William Clarke.
Adam, I really like that killer ‘push’.., at the end of the riff you played, while plugged into the Maestro . Very cool
thank you for this video. It's great comparision and tasty licks :) Friendly greetings for you Adam and Ronnie!
Wow! All of those amps have their own "feel"!
I'm enjoying my beginning trek of blues harp with my old Fender Musicmaster Bass tube amp and a Shure stick mic for now. Thanks for sharing this comparison, gents! God, I love the blues harp!
Cheers,
John W
What in the actual hell! You guys sound amazing.
Just, bloody, WOW!!!👊
Some Rod Piazza vibes. Love those tones
I do love the sound of that Premier amp my second fav out of these would be the Gibson. it's got a good punch to it. Thanks guys !!
These guys could play through a sewer pipe and it would sound great
You sure play pretty good Mr. Adam
Boys and their toys! 😂
Thanks for sharing!! 🎉❤🎉
Amazing guys
All sweet sounding amps and great players as well! I would have loved a Stage 5 in the mix!
Love it !!
I bet they're way too loud, but man the tone!
Love your videos. On that hunt for an amp now lol.
Ahhhhhh I want to be in this room!
Far out Daddio! Your the man Adam!
Rare moments that I loved chromatic!
Great sounds!
Adam I suggest you try the Fender Harvard Reverb Solid State 20Watt Amp with the Shure PE5H Mic! It's a really good combination!
Love the chrom sound😊
You crazy boyz with toyz 🤗
So far the Premier wins.
Great amps all, I prefer the Premier best.
Feel the Premier would cut through better in a band context…..but the bass man sounds awesome
🎯
Hey what are the details on Ronnie's Mic?
Adam you said these were too loud for you and not your first choice for gigs. So what is your first choice then?
When I'm playing in duo or trio settings, I generally use one of two setups: an early 60's Kay 703 paired with either a 1952 Masco MU-5 or a 1958 Premier Twin-8. I just don't need much more power than that. Occasionally I'll swap in a Harpgear HG2, which is a very loud 5 watt amp. Very occasionally, on large outdoor stages, I need more power. In that case, I'll use the pair of Premier Twin-8s, or I'll use one Premier paired with the Pacemaker. In duo/trio work, I never have need for the Bassman or Maestro. Those are just too loud. Guys in bands need amps that big because they're going up against guitar, bass, and a full drumset.
Original speakers in the Premier?
Yes. The thing is essentially brand new. Like in a time warp. Pristine.
Yes.
I dont know i like that bassman
If we had a chance to really crank it up in a large space, it's pretty awesome.
Stupid as it may… knowing what harmo you played would help
Me ;)
They're all very good amps I like them all especially the sunny junior four ten. But what do you guys think about the harp train 10
