    Put a good horse under the rider Edward Gal and it becomes a dancer. What a high class of expertise he has. Glock's Undercover has even a big marge to grow in his presentations. It is not fighting for achievement, it is easy to perform - that is how it looks like. It is beautiful. Therefore my opinion is that the horse Totilas belongs under this rider and nowhere else. The new owner of Totilas may have high results after hard working, but still he doesn't equal what Edward Gal does with horses. It is the chemie between horse and rider as Edward Gal says and he is right. Edward Gal releases the Light in the horse. I haven't seen that before.

      Marianne I totally agree. You could see the connection between Edward Gai and Totilas. Totilas was never the same afterwards sadly.

      He really does make them dance. The trouble is, horses aren’t dancers.

    Zeer mooi gedaan, maar kan niet tippen aan de prestaties met Totilas. Kan niet wachten tot hij met Toto Junior wedstrijden begint te rijden!
    Had ook een klene misstap maar verder excellent uitgevoerd! Wou dat ik zo kon rijden, ongeloofelijk!

    This horse looks quite young and not quite finished, and not finished growing. He's still pretty downhill, especially compared to his sire. (I'm assuming Undercover is a gelding). As far as Rollkur goes, I think that's everyone's favorite whipping boy at the moment, and frankly I don't see it: A lot of the Totilas horses have a very specific build to their front end, and not all of the horses that Gal rides look the same. I believe that Gal rides the horses they way they are built. They don't seem forced or unhappy: Compared to MANY riders, his horses tails are very quiet, and that is one of the things I look for in a dressage horse. Undercover has moments of nervousness, but I assume that from being not quite finished or experiences, as, compared to all the other videos I've watched of Gal, this horse is the exception. And realistically, I think most dressage riders would be delighted to have a horse of this calibre under them. I know I would.

    • @thegoatkid5388
      @thegoatkid5388 5 років тому +4

      good comment: I think undercover was just not really ready and not trained enough for those high levels dressage lections. The Piaffe e.g. had no real collection at all, the trot was uneven and the horse was really downhill. I think this is only because nowadays the trainers take less time to train their horses and prepare their bodies for the difficult lections which require a lot of collection. This collection can nowhere be seen in many modern dressage horses ( I think that e.g. valegro is a quite well trained horse).

    • @lizsteeds6697
      @lizsteeds6697 5 років тому +8

      @@ashleygaley2135 I agree. The angle of his curb and his heavy hands (no doubt due to his practise of rollkur) seem to create tension and although there is a lot of bend in his piaffe the hindquarters get left behind especially in the extended trot where the forelegs are thrown out at an extreme angle. He is often putting his horse behind the vertical with a sawing motion which does nothing to elevate the front end.

    Undercover is a very impressive horse. Edward is also very patient with his horse. Is Donnerhall the father of this horse? I would believe that if yes. He looks like his father, really. A very high-stepping horse. I would also believe it if his father was Totilas. Just the movements wouldn't match.

    Dressage is for the horse, but the horse is not for dressage!
    Reinlame:conflicting signals given by the rider to urge his horse forward with the legs and spurs, and keep restraining through the bit, disturb the balance of the horse, the back is sagging down, the cadance goes lost and the steps are going to be unregulare, the step on the side with the most tension in the rein is shorter, the horse is reinlame. This poor horse tries to escape the stranglehold of the rider. This should be called «Stressage», must not be mistaken with «Dressage»!

      Yes in deed, I can not do it better, but I can do it correctly, I am not a show rider and I don’t need resounding applause, my teacher is my horse, because humans are full of opinions, but the horse is the truth.
      Beginners in equestrian disciplines are not able to distinguish between correct and incorrect riding. They have no other means than the imitation of the stars in equestrian sports, but unfortunately at this level they find the majority of horse tormentors. So brand in public these horse tormentors! Maybe I preserve another horse to be tormented by an ignorant imitator-beginner! Looking away would mean to accept these unnatural methods and psychological torture. My concern is to make a difference between these horse tormentors and correct horse riding!

      There are plenty of correct riding videos on UA-cam, I feel sorry for you if you can’t make the difference and..... you are not the only one! Recently te FEI published a new guideline for judges to avoid such negative spin-off on future contests. A first step to horse-friendly riding!

    Amazing you can take a horse this phenomenal and make it look like such crap. An animal built this uphill put on the forehand and ridden in rollkur it's a shame.

      Jessica Velasquez On sweety, Edward Gal uses Rolkur. That's a fact. This horse was trained with Rolkur even if this video doesn't show it. This horse is put on the forehand and is ridden in Rolkur, even if it is not seen in this video.

    You can learn a horse doing this on the natural way, I see that everyday by myself. So why should Edward do it on the un-natural way. Well if you're all so sure, prove it. I do dressage to, cuz mah pownie has something with his leg he may not jump anymore. But I can ride him some nice piece of shit without spurs or whip :I Not as good as Edward sadly :P
