I got a chance to watch it a year ago back and it's a fun fucking movie. The crowd was wild, the yells the laughs. It is a total midnight movie lmao Its great and I had a lot of fun. I hope one day it does come out. The practical effects were amazing, the script was meh but still fun nonetheless. One scene, in particular, got the crowd so loud my ears still hurt to this day lol

Thanks for the video news. When I heard about the movie being made and it's great trailer. I wanted to see this movie in the theaters. I believe this movie will see the light of day. I don't know where or when. Thanks again.
If there is any other news on it I’ll report on it. Thanks so much for watching we definitely appreciate it and enjoy talking to all the fandoms we talk about.
@@TalkingFandomAndSuch well, I mean whoever stands to make the money could break even but they're choosing not to. Obviously it's a horrible comparison, but it kinda reminds me of Cory Feldman promising to say the names of Cory Haim's abusers if he got the $10M he wanted to make a documentary about it. Obviously Feldman's is worse (and definitely a crime) but still we're talking about not releasing a finished movie because they can't find a distributor? I mean, I've only got 300 subscribers, but I can distribute stuff i make from my home computer.
True they should release it. The Corey stuff is crazy there are claims he and Haim were never really friends, there’s an actor named Scotty Schwartz who talks about that. I get the comparison, can’t really talk about that on this channel or I would it’s a terrible crime, but the interview with Scotty is very interesting.
@@TalkingFandomAndSuch I'm just gonna come out and say it: for someone who talks so much 💩 about Charlie Sheen, Feldman sure as hell does his best to look like him.
Its NOT a remake, t's a sequel that follows a disgruntled janitor with a terminal illness that his boss refuses to pay for so he tries to rob his place of work and falls into toxic waste and becomes ANOTHER Toxic Avenger. (Not getting into specifics to avoid spoilers) The original Toxie does exist in this movies universe. Even Dinklage confirmed that this is NOT a reboot. For some reason google has it labeled as a remake and I get that saying "Toxie remake" is simpler than saying "Toxic Avenger (2023)" Go on Wikipedia, it even tells you this is not a remake. I'm not targeting you specifically but I'm annoyed at everyone calling it a "remake" and getting upset because this Toxie is a dwarf (even though it's not supposed to be the same original Toxie, this is NOT Melvin's story this takes place after that.)
I heard something to that effect, the stuff I read liked calling it a reboot I think because like you said it was easier it’s more what scream calls a requel. I love your comment and thanks so very much for taking time to watch and comment we appreciate it. We love talking to the fandom of the topics we talk about. We hope to see you again soon in future comments on future videos.
Unfortunately Dinklage, Snow White and the 7 blokes of a regular height just doesn't have same ring to it. Quit the 😭 and start churning out some decent performances again (which Thrones fans know you are more than capable of)
I think Dinklage is amazing he spoke out of turn on that though and got a lot of actors who could play those characters mad at him, I think he ended up feeling bad about that. They eventually made cgi dwarfs which look very odd to me. He was amazing in Game Of Thrones though. Definitely one of the reasons most people watched.
@@TalkingFandomAndSuch for mel, his turn in 'Elf' and his turn in 'Thrones'... phenomenal (especially Thrones). Since then though, in all honesty, can't recall a single performance of his I've enjoyed...all very forgettable. Was convinced 'Toxic Avenger' may turn that around, even though the movie may only attract a cult, as opposed to mass following. Nothing wrong with that though, Troma back in the day was the very definition of 'cult following'.
@@TalkingFandomAndSuch have also seen him in a couple of films since GoT ended. Can't recall making to the end of any of them...be it through boredom induced passing out 😴 or simply not enjoying
When I first heard about this film I was absolutely stoked for it. I was originally under the impression that Dinklage would only be voicing Toxie, not playing him. Then I found out that that's not the case and my enthusiasm went down drastically. I'm not saying it couldn't be good but I feel like Toxie should be physically imposing. Not a giant necessarily but a big trash monster none the less. Maybe we'll see it in few years on a streaming service as a delightfully bad Troma movie. It's a shame though, I think there's real potential in the franchise for it to a sleeper hit.
Toxic had good reviews: "On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 92% of 22 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 6.9/10. The website's consensus reads: "Like the original, The Toxic Avenger isn't for everyone - but viewers seeking an extremely gory, extremely silly good time won't be disappointed."[25] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 66 out of 100, based on 4 critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews" We want this movie :D
I was wondering why I'd not heard anything new about the remake coming to a theater near you. Thanks for the update even though it's terrible news. I would have gone to see this in a proper movie theater too. But once again this shows that Hollywood has no backbone and is to scared to put a good movie out for the fans to see😢
Unfortunately for us they just didn’t think it would appeal to mainstream audiences this only makes me more curious because it must’ve been troma like if they were that unsure.
Umm. Is there any other movies that were considered too way out there to the point you can’t release it? This kinda seem like an move from the producers to get more of a buzz and increase the audience for the movie.
The ampunt of times ive checked YT for info on a release date...and now this news. Distributors concerned about its theatrical run owing to content..how many gore ladden horror movies actually see a cinema release anyway (with 99% of those failing to deliver...i'm looking at you 'Maxxine'...promises of outlandish gore..what a wet fart that was 😱🤣). Just release it digitally already, and let us actual horror fans decide if its too much or not (although, isnt the point of horror to test your own resolve)
As someone who very much wanted to see this movie I aged completely, I did enjoy Maxxine but I had it on good authority it wasn’t going to have a ton of gore. Horror should push boundaries it is part of being able to scare us or to at least gross us out. Stephen King stated if you can’t scare them gross them out. I hope they do release it eventually. Thanks for commenting we enjoy hearing from the fandoms of things we talk about.
@@TalkingFandomAndSuch tbh I watched 'Maxxine' purely for the promise of 1980s nasty levels of gore and graphic violence..and watched, and watched. Had it known the promise would be met to 'a token extent' at the very end, in a singular shot, I wouldn't have bothered. This is just one example of, being a horror fan of old, just how today's horrors just don't cut it
@@TalkingFandomAndSuch I do agree though..it's not all about the gore, far from it (although wracking my brains over the course of the past few years as to a, or any horror that does truly really tick..well, any horror boxes).
Exactly maybe Troma should do this too, I know a lot of people really want to see the film. Troma knows they do, there is a new Toxic Avenger comic coming out soon.
I saw Citizen Toxie when it came out at a sci-fi convention. For them to call this reboot “unreleasable” is saying a lot. Every movie Troma ever made seemed like it was written by a drug addicted pervert. They made a musical about zombie chickens, and the entire film seemed like it was made by a porn addict who dropped LSD.
I can’t prove this but I always thought James Gunn’s tweets that caused all the backlash were about the baby gang in the movie not actually about babies. Yes though troma is known for being in poor taste and out there.
Lets be honest, it probably sucked so bad they're trying to hype it by saying it's too extreme to be marketable so when it does goes to streaming there will be a little hype behind it. Kaufman and Hertz are involved, so why not just let them release it as a Troma movie?
They should
