Something you didn't take into consideration is how many ships can carry an X1 vs any other hover craft. It even fits into a Pisces! This greatly improves its usefulness.
I mean...how often are you going to be running around the 'verse in just a piscese without it being in a larger ship itself?
@@shadowsa2b Bunkers in the C8R solo is great but hostile turrets makes for long walks. The X-1 hauled along eliminates this, the Ranger will be even better.
I like the x1. Hindsight is 20/20 but considering how the glass sort of envelops the rider into a pod-like form factor, it seems like such a missed opportunity to not fully enclose the canopy. Giving players a climate-controlled/breathable bike option could have really made this stand out and provide players with a more versatile bike option. Still, i enjoy riding it. Thanks )
watch that be an x2
I have some concerns with the version that drops the weapon handling the same. If their models are actually physics-based, then the differenced in mass would change the handling. But it doesn't. Makes it seem like they're faking anything that they claim to be physics based by tweaking individual ship models rather than the core system actually being setup to handle physics in the game.
Thanks Youngblood!
I believe most of the online drama and hate were the result of blanket -1 shield balance pass to all hover bikes that CIC rolled out in conjunction with the X1s. I like the X1s personally, the design, and handling are “as anticipated”. I don’t like the shield reduction, and the flight model for all the hover bikes still could be fine tuned to assist with obstacle avoidance… but other than that, I’m loving the X1s!
"We're going to take the shields away from most bikes (apart from one we're selling). Everyone will love the thrill of riding unprotected."
CIG busy salami slicing vehicle classes to protect future sales opportunities.
Plus now a vulture/reclaimer passing by can just dissolve it into nothing, like it was never there. Or someone can come by with a tractor beam and snatch it up.
Have one melted from release, always been a consideration once it was in game. Looks quite promising.
This is an Lti Token - again. I have the 3 pack original warbond - with red / white skins - Currently it's a Liberator, MSR & Medivac.
My biggest problem with the X1 is the BS they've pulled off with removing shields from all bikes except the Force. The two are inextricably linked in my mind now.
At first glance i didn't like it but now i have scaff and noise on my spacebike.
cool review, like always.
I really like the X1's design, but I also like all of the other hoverbikes too, so it's a tough call on which to add to my hangar when you have too many choices. Probably end up with a few hoverbikes in my hangar eventually, but I bought the Force and Velocity for my 400i in the meantime.
I really like it. It looks good, it handles well and it fits inside a lot of ships.
speak for yourself, I'm excited :)
It's an adventure bike. Even styled like one. Ugly little BMW GS.
Almost all of the hatred for the bike can probably be boiled down to the current state of the internet.
Something is either the hyperbolic best thing ever, or its the worst steaming pile of dogshit covered in flies.
There is no in between.
I think this thing is terrible to ride in it's current form. It's too hard to control and too easy to crash. It feels like it's made out of paper. As for weapons, they are a complete joke on any of these bikes because they can't take on any ships and it's silly and stupid to think you would ever find yourself fighting another bike. (Combat racing is just a really dumb idea that belongs in a Nintendo game, not here). The biggest problem the X1 has is the same for all of the bikes: They don't currently have any role in the game. I own all the current bikes in the game and I'm just going to park the X1 variants next to the rest to collect dust until I have a real reason to use them.
Still makes no sense, they remove the shields from the DF and Nox. However the Force is the only one now to have one, why...just because for sales?
Some protection is better than no protection, since you know they won't balance the DF and Nox by making them slightly faster or more maneuverable. smh
I agree. If they really wanted, sure, give the Force two S0 shields as opposed to the usual one, but don't go retroactively removing the shields from other bikes.
@@BigSneed404I wouldn't mind if the Nox/Dragonfly didn't get targeted by turrets thanks to the lack.of shields, but...
yes exactly.
because of the sale.
so obvious.
like 2 shields at an Arrow or uber precise gun of Ion.
lol^^
@@BigSneed404 The original specification WAS for 2 shields on the Force, 1 on all the other bikes.
