I think it's pretty interesting how this theme carries the touhou style energy while not using any of zun's instruments. Honestly, I think more composers shouldn't be afraid to use non-zun instrumentation. Song is a banger. That bass is really good. Very slappy and hard hitting. Syrena's design is also very pretty. (Can't really say anything about danmaku since I haven't played or seen a playthrough yet, but just from this video that timeout looks super cool.)
Agreed with everyone else here- This is an absolute banger of a song, and it reminds me a lot of other Touhou songs despite the instrumentation not resembling Zun's. It's gonna be stuck in my head for quite a while! Hopefully Syrena likes it too!
The melody and chord progression are different from that of touhou, but strangely, I like that the arrangement style or composition is ZUN style. I hope there will be more ZUN style music that is not bound by Touhou and shows the artist's personality well.
