For me, I think there's one moment that stands out from many hours of driving this car in AC: when I'd got used to how insanely difficult it was to drive at any pace at all without losing control, and how genuinely terrified I felt attempting, gingerly, to push it to its limit...at that moment, I realised the mod's physics, and characteristics, can only ever be a tiny fraction of what the real life experience was like. Those were men blessed with skill and daring, far beyond the comprehension of their fellow man. All he can do is sit back, and applaud, and watch on in wonder.
Another thing with the Auto Unions were, the front wheels tend to patter around under braking and the steering tends to have a heavy kickback because the suspension movement messes up the steering geometry.
Hey great drive my friend! I've been loving these pre-war cars and also the post-war front engined era as well. I think the challenge these cars deliver is so cool, were you at full throttle at any point in this lap? I couldn't imagine doing that myself 😂
