My husband passed a few months before your dad, he had spinal surgery ,cancer , wasn’t able to walk his last 3 months. I’m telling you this because he loved Tommy Bahama and a few years before he died I got him a few beautiful Tommy shirts from eBay 14:40 that he got to wear on a few cruises. You brought back beautiful memories 🤗 I understand what your family went through.

You sure scored some good deals and oh what fun to shop such a sale... I know you excitement as a new clothing rack was brought out and on the very end was a Burberry Womens Long Trench Coat for 14.99. It is missing the zip lining, but this coat was never worn! Only thing is they were careless when they wrote the price on tag and got a streak of ink, but pretty sure I can get that out. I too pick up all Tommy Bahama printed silk shirts.

I went to my local Salvation Army today. So much fun thrifting! I am not a reseller! I found a pretty tunic length gray sweater, a beautiful new with tag orange pashmina shawl. I love coming home with lots of clothing items, but not today! I can’t believe the number of people shopping at Salvation Army!! Hugs from Michigan, Lori!! ❤

I love the Burberry coat Lori! I was looking at some others in Poshmark and one thing to remember is that measurements should be provided as British sizes are not the same as US sizes. The Coach bag was fantastic too. Great finds! Have a fun weekend!

Burberry will pull your listing off Ebay. I had listed a pair of Burberry shoes. I did put nova plaid in description & they own the writes to nova check plaid. Maybe that's why people passed. If you get it pulled you get count against you from Ebay for failure to sell items.... jody

I don’t know which thrift shop you find all that good stuff bc I can’t never find anything halfway decent.
I'm not trying to be gross, but this is a fact of life. I live in a state where bed Bugs are a huge problem. For that reason, I stopped buying clothing from second hand stores. What do you do to ensure that your buyers are not taking home bugs or eggs?
Fair question. Honestly I've never had an issue with it. We have a commercial grade steamer that we use on all of our garments. Many items also go through the wash. I've sold over 10,000 preowned pieces on three different platforms over the course of 5+ years and I haven't ever had a problem. Fingers crossed that I never do.

I was at the thrift today and everything was soooooo high priced. eBay prices or higher! I was so disappointed. A poetry dress (my fav brand) was priced at $85. A Lafayette 148 was priced at $150. Ugh!!

I remember when I was a single mom trying to put my son through school. I wasn’t able to afford clothes for myself so I went to a thrift store to find work clothes. The thought of people buying the clothes just so that they can resell them for a profit just seems wrong.
I understand why you might feel that way. My mother also shopped at thrift stores for us when we were young because money was tight. We also usually bought clothes through lay-away for back to school. The truth is textile waste is HUGE problem for our environment. Here is some information that might make you feel better: Clothing and textiles currently make up at least 7% of the total amount of waste in global landfill space. Between 80 and 100 billion new clothing garments are produced globally every year. 87% of the materials and fibers used to make clothing will end up in either incinerators or landfills (Source theroundup.org). There is PLENTY of preowned clothes to go around EVERYONE who needs it.
