- Toots Thielemans plays "Con Alma" by Dizzy Gillespie on harmonica together with the WDR BIG BAND under the direction of bandleader and arranger Henk Meutgeert. Another solo is played by Joachim Schönecker on guitar. Jeff Hamilton plays as guest on drums. Recorded at the Bühl Jazz Festival 2004.
In memory of the great jazz musician Jean Baptiste "Toots" Thielemans, who died in 2016 and would have celebrated his 100th birthday on April 29, 2022.

Wonderful treat to see 'Toots" performing at age 82, and a sweet tribute to release this video on his 100th birthday anniversary. Hard to spot because they were 18 years younger, but I saw at least 17 of today's WDR band members, including Karolina in what might be her first year with the group. And Jeff Hamilton, to boot! Great to see Toots playing again, he’s my hero. I’ve been learning chromatic harmonica for years, Toots is the master…I have his signature harmonica, but it doesn’t sound the same as when he plays it!
