    Thank you for the detailed information. I was planning to visit camino de santiago with my mini2, but I give up finally.. There is too many regulated location, and notam for yellow area is too long... Since there's are not much data about flying in Europe in my country, your video really helped me. Now I can enjoy the camino with lighter backpack :(

    What about the new regulations taking effect January 2024 in all EU? I read somewhere that the Mini 4 with the “0” label/category will supposedly allow flying over cities but will have the 120m “hard” altitude limit. Is that true, or it doesn't apply to Spain? Being able to fly over urban areas, even with the altitude limit, is better than nothing.

    • @doatrip
      @doatrip  Рік тому +2

      Good point. With JAN 2024 the 120m is also valid for Spain as it is part of the EU. Meaning the c0 labelled drones are max altituded.
      However Spain has an additional regulation to not fly in urban areas.

    Thanks for the video mate! I was looking for one that showed exactly that. I'm going to do the Camino de Santiago in May and I need to know exactly what I need to do to legally fly my drone.
    One question, which company did you hire for the insurance? I will need to hire (I'm from Brazil) and it will probably have to be a Spanish company.

    • @doatrip
      @doatrip  10 місяців тому +1

      You're pretty much welcome.
      It's great news that you plan to do the Camino! You will have amazing spots to launch your drone and capture footage from above.
      In my case I am working with getsafe. It is a German company. However it doesn't matter in Europe, if the insurance is from the country you are flying or from a different country. 😉
      You only need to able to prove, that your drone has an insurance.

    Basically If youre not going by car or to more outskit-ish areas there is no point of taking drone ...
    Buy a dron they say
    you will make breathtaking videos they say ...
    naah its jsut fancy thing you can fly with but not much places to do so plus weather like winter - no flying to cold ... then you got like 4 - 6 month of possible flieghts and then wind or rain - which make you around lets say 4 months .. .then if youre living in bigger city then you need to go outside it - hmm 2 times per year...
    I was in couple countries already and each is same ... for some they could take your dron on airport as drones are completly prohibited in coutry or in some you need to pay tax for it as you would buy new drone even if youre just a turist O_o comming for like 1 week time. and then pay for being able to fly in places where you can fly ...
    so basically if youre by train and by plan etc then not much of use with drones nowdays ... its more a gimick than useful tool! but if youre by car to remote places that are not natural reserves (haha check waht is hidden in so called natural reserves and why people dissapearing there often especially in USA) but yeah ... its 4rth time Ive checked If to take drone and ... Malaga ahh malaga (nope in the face) ok 3 additional palces I plan to go by train or bus - nope again... ok maybe a canyon (naah - natural reserve) so maybe old caste ... ant prohibited zone ... WTFFFFFFF!!!!!! whole UE and other countries - can Kiss my ... regulations not for our safety but those who makes rules ... :(

      Word! I fully share your view!
      It is rediculous what's going on.
      And it kills all the fun those devices are normally bringing.
      Basically when you are a drone pilot you are halfway in jail due to the regulations.
      And none of the pilots will always know each single nofly zone even when using all the apps and websites and governantal sources.
      Anyway I keep flying because I really like it. I try to be informed as good as possible.
      Apart from lots of Karen's out there in public, I never met a bad police officers. All of them were quite communicative and helped finding good spots in case the one I've chosen was not okay. 🙂
      Don't forget: Life is too short to be a free. 😉

    Doubtful that Spain is "an ideal destination for drone enthusiasts". I'm in fact in Andalusia, and there is not one SINGLE place interesting where the drone can be flown:
    1- Sevilla with the Alcazar and the Cathedral? nope
    2- Granada and the Alhambra? nope
    3- Gibraltar? nope
    4- Tarifa? nope
    5- Ok, what about that small city of Ronda? no chance ...
    Seriously I've seen all these places and I've never been able to use my drone (sub 250g).
    Hell, not even hikes in the middle of nowhere can be pictured, such as the Caminito del Rey - yes 50km from Malaga and still too close from the airport!..
    Sorry, but while Spain has certainly a lot of captivating sights, one shall not hope to fly his drone

      @doatrip  8 місяців тому +1

      Well I did several flights in Andalusia. But basically you are right. All urban areas are protected.
