- The Ford Figo is a very under-rated hatchback on sale in India. The new generation car was launched in 2015 and the pricing of the Figo is extremely attractive, but somehow it just doesn't fetch good sales. However, the car is very impressive, offers a lot for the price, is cheap to run and super fun to drive.
The diesel variant of the Ford Figo comes with a 1.5-litre TDCI unit that produces a whopping 100 PS of power. We had the diesel Figo in our long term fleet for as many as 6 months and we enjoyed every moment of driving it. Watch the full video to know why. I just want give a note on front bumper clearance issue here. Here the bumper is different and there is a flap which is placed below the front bumper, ye actually main ek rubber flap hai to avoid wind uplift so it's placed below clearance level.
So if the ground clearance is 174mm at flap area it's 174mm - flap height, so that minimum air goes below the car. For the same reason it's not hard plastic, rather a rubber and there is no harm when it scraps some where.
Hope I have cleared the doubt.

I own a Figo 1.5D Titanium variant and I absolutely love the car.
I can do without the infotainment system .
The build quality is better than baleno and some other cars in this segment.
The only thing I wish for are bigger set of tyres.

Old Figo and this engine will be awesome.
Recently Done a 1600km road trip and Bouyy this car can decimate every other car on the road. No one overtook me in that 1600km. The midrange is so strong , that slight dab on throttle ( 2000 - 3500 rpm) and u are gaining insane speeds to overtake anything. Compact size also ensures its zippy through the traffic. An XUV guy pulled over in a dhaba and asked " Kitne CC k engine hai"?. Mileage was also good. 20kmpl avg throughout. Easily gives u 21 kmpl at 120-130 kmph. This is a car for those who enjoy driving , added FE is a bonus. This car needs to be thrashed. Advice new buyers to upsize the tyres to 195 or 185mm after delivery ,to enjoy this diesel rocket to fullest. Drive safely and always were seatbelts!!

Baljit Singh in petrol, go for Hyundai. Diesel??? No comparison,, get eyes closed and purchase Figo. Nothing even come closed to it in terms of performance. Not even duster, creta and Innova.
The freestyle fixes almost every flaw of this. It's definitely the Best in segment. You should do a video on the freestyle diesel

While we can easily complain about the build quality... I bet it isn't as bad as a Swift/ Baleno/ Jazz!!
Yes the front rubber part does brush irritatingly.. but it's nothing to worry about..
Infotainment n touchscreen well are features n theyre deal breakers really.. esp with the segment cheapest price tag by far!!
The rattles do come with usage and they have to do with poor plastic panel fitment inside! Something as simple as the gum to stick them! I get my Figo checked regularly in service center for irritating rattles n they are often just nut n bolt tightening n gums!
Look at the pros.. as mentioned in the video.. they far outweigh the nitpicks..

If want a fun filled drive, safety, low maintenance with little fuel economy compromise, then go for Aspire.
Maintenance wise it would be half than the maruti.

Don't judge the build quality of Ford figo because it's best.. Also better than baleno, ignis,.. If u want higher build quality vehicle then buy tank and park it at your home.

I own a Aspire diesel.
But if you ask for petrol engine, you should go for maruti or Honda .
As both produce good petrol engine.
But recently Ford has introduced a new petrol engine which is far better than the old one.
So if you can wait, then go for this new Ford petrol engine or maruti and Honda both have good petrol engine.
For diesel.... Nothing can beat figo and Aspire.

Motorbeam is such an amazing channel but I'm sorry to say this time you're wrong. I've tried this on many ford figos and none of them had this problem of the tail gate closing automatically on shutting the doors. The build quality of the figo is not like other fords but it's certainly better than marutis and hyundais.
Try this - open the boot from inside, then open and closer the door, then check if the boot opens.
MotorBeam I tried. I closed the door really hard but the boot still didn't close. And I tried that on multiple figos not only 1.

Most of the things mentioned were True Ford need to improve built quality, Infotainment system, interiors and do something about headlights brakes and the stock wheels. But for the price we cannot complain much because it offers a big engine and a well engineered steering. Ford could come up with Facelift and change the date of this awesome car and the petrol model with the new dragon engine and autobox can be a real good car to buy. Ford could improve the Built quality even if it is not upgrading quality of interiors.
Good observations by Faisal, it's true that the ground clearance is not that great, but this is enough as it will be boring if they increase ground clearance even more.
I like Figo diesel soo much
Bro after so many months you have made this video of figo. I feel it's a bit intentional to show the figo inferior to other hatch counterparts. Bro I own one and can give you the review in one sentence - " ITS A DRIVERS CAR". People who like to drive would recommend it to all. Ofcourse the other counterpart which can challenge in Volkswagen Polo and in Budget category - Tata Tiago going by features incorporated and looks.

I got figo sports diesel 16k km running it is a beast in accelerate but very bad apollo tyres ford should changed this tyre brand to some good brand like Michelin or Bridgestone . I want to change my tyres to some other brand but 195/55/r15 this tyre size is unavailable by other brands.

Ford figo is still the strongest competitor in the category. No other car is nearby figo. I drove about 10500 Km & satisfied in every aspect. Strong engine, built quality, low service cost, great drivability & city mileage are the strong points.

The engine is naturally aspirated and NOT turbo charged, so there's no scope for turbo lag. Please take care to mention the right details next time.
Also, more than the ground clearance, it's the (over) soft suspension set up that contributes to a lot of under belly scraping.
Other than that it's a good review. Good job.

Lazy Tourer I own the car, my friend. Its a naturally aspirated engine. The superb power delivery and torque band leads many people to think this engine is turbocharged. The truth is quite the opposite.

I am really not sure if you are confusing TDCi with their 1.2L petrol engine !! That doesn't have a turbo..
If I am not mistaking, there is no diesel car on sale without Turbo Charger in India !!

Utpal Gogoi baleno rs but dont go for it coz of poor build quality. instead of baleno go for polo gt tsi best drivers car with exceptional build quality .. don't worry about maintenance costs it isn't too much .. it is bit more than maruti but great things comes at great price..

Reverse cam and sensors man plz put some exercise to ua neck and test your judgement it ain't that big car either its manageable
5k can be spent on reverse cam and sensors. Why cringe about that?

Bhai Saab, tyre issue is on extreme case, our us case tak VW and Ford ko chod ke maruti our Hyundai pohunch he nahi sakte, kyun ke in these cars you will simply loose control over your car, so no kreeching sound will be there rather a dhadam... Sound.
And even though Ford has compromised on build quality, even though it's far better than the maruti cars.
For your information, Ford figo and Aspire both are better than one segment ahead in terms of pickup and handling.
Also Ford promises least maintenance cost, more durable engine and parts with impressive milage figures.
What else you want... a touch screen with poorly build and out of control car.
One think you forgot in this Comparitly figo is cheaper than other cars .

I took a test ride of both petrol and diesel versions of Figo today. Petrol Figo is nowhere near diesel one. The low end torque is very poor. That affect city drivability. I felt my Chevy Beat's 1.2L engine is better in low and mid range. The engine is very refined. But was disappointed with the performance. The story is different with diesel. It just goes like a rocket. The 1.5L TDCi engine is a gem. That makes the Figo Sports a hot hatch. But I felt the clutch is way too heavy. That's a deal breaker for me as my left knee is surgically repaired few months back. Working on such a heavy clutch will be a humongous task in Bangalore traffic. Moreover I feel petrol car makes more sense for my usage. I felt Nissan Micra petrol with CVT is more peppy and has better city drivability than Figo petrol.

Figo scores 3 stars with 2 airbags on a Indian version of a car. And also Maruti Suzuki never test their indian spec product. Baleno scores 3 star is true but that's not an Indian version which they used for test. SO NEVER COMPARE FORD WITH BULLSHIT MARUTI SUZUKI.
