Nice build. I'm about to build this kit and the upcoming GMC Jimmy kit when it arrives. Just a detail note on the radiator: Chevrolet/GM changed the radiator design from top and bottom tanks to side tanks in 1967.
It's easy to stay motivated when the kits build themselves, I figure I had started too many builds so I put them all aside and will concentrate on one build, but, which one?
It turned out perfect. I had a problem with a similar model that I assembled, it was hard keeping the pieces glued together. Did you use any rubbing alcohol on the plastics prior to gluing them together?
cool build. i own a '71 in red and i noticed the kit didn't have the K5 Blazer badge for each fender? too bad because people keep asking the owner if it's a Bronco when that is missing.
+ramblers69 I didn't hang around on this one Tom, I can build em fast if I'm in the mood, I just couldn't put this one down its a great kit ......yes you heard the right for an AMT it's a good kit ! Lol
+Dirk Pitt (The ADD Builder) Thanks Dirk but don't be jealous. ....I'm never usually this quick ....I don't know what happened but I couldn't put this kit down
+GaztheK's Modelworx This is a favorite kit of mine. As a kid I built 2, it was the "Boondocker". I've seen vintage versions of this but I refuse to spend more than $20 USD for a model. I too had your same issues. Always did have those problems. I don't care, I loved building it.
+Jon Serkspawn777 It's now one of my favourites too, unfortunately I can't pick up any US kits over here for $20 more like $40+ . But I'm getting another of these one day and building the boondocker version .
Those graphics were an actual option package. I reckon out West like in California or something. Are you in Australia? I'll tell ya, ANY 1/24 or 1/25 scale kit of any Mad Max Falcon is HIGH DOLLAR here. I long for a kit of a Valiant Charger, or old Holden muscle or a plain, non Mad Max Falcon GT
+Jon Serkspawn777 I'm in the far south west of the UK Jon, in Cornwall. I'd love to see some kits of classic Australian muscle cars like the GTHO Falcons and the Holden Monaro, to me they are every bit as exciting as any US muscle cars.
+Simon Summers Hi Simon thanks for watching, the tools in the back of the Blazer ?, they were from my spares box, but I think they originally came in the AMT 53 Ford pickup kit.
Awesome build Gary. Hopefully you have this kit displayed. I had this kit when it first came out in '72
Thankyou Chris, yes it's still on display.... Although in running out of room so it may be packed away soon to allow the new ones to be displayed.

The radiator is molded into the body on this one if I remember, it certainly wasn't a separate part.
My brother built this model in the late 70's and he still has it, it looks great! I am going to buy this and build it, I love this model.
Wow Gary looks awesome the shine is perfect
+Jeff's model garage Thanks Jeff, paint come out nice on this one
Looks great Gary, it is amazing how quick a build goes when you have the time. Good details on this build. Cheers
+Wayne Osborne Thanks Wayne, Everything fell into place for this one, the paint came out great and that spurred me in to get err done !

+VisionONE24 JORGE Thanks for watching bud
Nice work Gary, the yellow and black looks good. If you glue small plastic tabs at the bottom inside the roof it might hold it in place better.
+Model Car Minion Thankyou Steve, I wanted it just like the cool box art, good shout on the plastic tabs that will work a treat
Nice looking build brother. Well done.

+IRMAO CUSTOM MODELS Thanks for watching mate
Very nice looking Blazer Gary. With the speed that you built this one, I think that you are qualified for a 48 hour build. LOL.
+Rick Zinck Thankyou Rick, unusually quick build for me. The thing is if I was under pressure to do a build in 48 hours I couldn't do it !lol
looks great!
+Bryan Guggemos at BG's Model Workshop Thankyou Bryan !

Gary

+Simon Summers Hi Simon thanks for watching, the tools in the back of the Blazer ?, they were from my spares box, but I think they originally came in the AMT 53 Ford pickup kit.
