Thanks for Posting this video. I was a Skipper for Jacobs Boats, Windsor (now French Brothers) in 1960s-70s - would have been nice to have seen some slower normal speed sections. I see you either ran out or stopped just at Windsor Racecourse Landing Stage where we would take the 'Punters' from Windsor Riverside Railway Station to Windsor Racecourse Island on Race Days. Boveney Lock from Windsor Promenade was our regular (in that time) 35min trip turning in Boveney Weir Stream. We also would run up to Marlow on Specials. Or Maidenhead on Coach Trips and venture down (for annual work on the larger boats - Windsor Castel - Empress of India - Windsor Belle - to Kingston. Coach loads from Egham Runneymead. Salters Steamers worked Oxford to Hampton Court - some smaller passenger vessels worked above Oxford I believe. Once again thank you for posting. Michael

Thanks for your fascinating response. Yes, on that occasion we turned at Windsor but we first cruised the Thames in a hire boat called Runnymede Empress that we picked up from a boatyard in Egham during the 70’s. Plans for next years journey are still in the planning 👍

Thanks for your "like" Kasim. It was a very enjoyable cruise and great to moor up at all those places and many more besides as we continue to explore the waterways.

very nice video I live in High Wycombe near Marlow. Always want to sell in the Thames river but don't have enough Information. if I import my personal boat from abroad how can I enter the Thames river could you please let me know do I need special permission from the authorities or if there is a selling point where I can go and lower my boat into the water and explore Thames river.

      Thanks Ali,
You can purchase a licence for boating on the non-tidal River Thames (above Teddington Lock) from the Environment Agency online but you will need to ensure you have both third party insurance and a boat safety certificate but they will advise you on what is required. As for launching that really depends on the size of your boat. For smaller boats there are a number of public slipways
http:/www.boatlaunch.co.uk/ For larger boats you will need to contact one of the many boatyards
who will have facilities to crane you in.
I hope you get to explore this lovely river.
      Chris

Happy memories for us too and pleased it brought back a few of your own. I see you watched it to end and picked up on the "typo." Well spotted!. I'm not sure I will be about in "2108" but am sure it will look much the same as it did in "2018".. Lol.!! 😂😂

Hope you didn't inconvenience the geniuses in the plastic boats who don't care about speed restrictions too much...

Haha, well I hope not, we do after all share a common interest and I’m basically obsessed with anything that floats. Whilst on the Thames I took a tour around Peter Freebody’s classic boatyard in Hurley. Beautifully restored river craft to drool over!! How sad is that! :)
