Wow. Beatles of our generation, agreed. So sad this was so near the end. Stewart, still my fave percussionist, freakin' octopus. Still love them all. **CHECK OUT- tour rehearsal 1983 tea in the sahara and wrapped around your finger.
Be nice if Sting would mark vocals a little more clearly, haha. I wish Sting would play the bass figure in the verse as it was on the record. I don't know why he simplified it. I mean, I'm sure he felt it was stronger but I always miss it when played live. He actually slipped into it for a second at 2:42....
As you can hear andy has trouble starting the First chord after Stewart beginning ,so they decided to make him start after the rythm goes. Yea sting got a bit mad at andy becouse he messes up the chorus
Most people talk about Sting the vocalist and songwriter but few actually acknowledge his bass skills. He's a great bass player. I love this version of the song. Imo it's better than the one that was released to the public. I feel like going in to Stewart's drum studio and telling him to hit his snare better goddammit! It's way off! :i
Stew relax, it's only a fuckn Rehearsal man. How about some plain Meat and Potatoes on simmer, for this one. You ain't got no kick on One & Three then?
This is amazing. Shows the musicianship of these three. I could listen to them jamming all day
Spirits is such a complicated yet enjoyable song...making your ear taste this exotica...like eating spicy curry for the first time.
Copeland is the most creative percussionist!
No he is just the best ever
WILLIAM ALPHONSO I have been lucky enough to see Copeland play. Just amazing. Check out his stuff with “Gizmo”
IMPROVISING IS HIS MIDDLE NAME
That bass😍
Steinberger XL2
awesome...
they are a true "SUPERGROUP"
CALL THE POLIIIIIIIIICE!
Stewart Copeland, fantastic drummer, he’s the best
They were playing it really fast, but i love this song anyhow

Awesome to hear and just untouchable around this time! Didn't realise they played this in D min instead of A min live.
It’s a rehearsal/jam session. I think they are always exploring which is what made them one of the best bands ever.
They are The Beatles of my generation.
No, they aren’t, thank God. The Beatles are incompetent by comparison.

Nice picture! They look happy.
This is music with no computer : this is how music should be .
@mikechildmk1
The honest truth? I found it by searching on Google.
"I have no faith in Constitution... hi, Doug." xD
At 3:05
Haha
Tight band! Amazing- made things sound easy!
wow, this is really interesting, thx a bunch for sharing! thumbs up, mate :D
Ha he made the intro even more complex😂!!
how did you find this gem? god damn

@Alejandro Moreno S. really!
@@ibassnote try playing it that way yourself while singing the song then you may realise why.
The original bass part is really hard to play together singing the voice line
its a soundcheck they don't play at full pelt save energy for the actual concert
Just a preheat for Stewart !
Interesting stuff. Have to ask though...how do you happen upon material like this?
"I'm singing... I'm singing..." Lol :-)
The only thing worth listening to live, about this song are the drums.
ENAUGH THIS FOTO I LIKE THAHT 😃
Finally I got what the measure is like! Fucking Steward plays the accented hihats at "and"s goddamit!
There was a video of them performing in a studio, which is better than the album version. What happened to that video? It's nowhere to be found.
The one on the Kenny Everett Video Show ? It’s here on UA-cam.
La batería regula el ensayo...
vazoooull evvvolutionn .
2:36 ;)
it sounds from this tape that Sting was a jerk to Andy, not Steward from what i'm hearing
His name is STEWART.
His name is PAULSEN...you more on...
As you can hear andy has trouble starting the First chord after Stewart beginning ,so they decided to make him start after the rythm goes. Yea sting got a bit mad at andy becouse he messes up the chorus
Who's DOUG, then?
the bass sounds to weak in this version
he needs to play it the right way with the right sounds
is the "live bass riff" ;)
This sounds like the moog bass Sting used in the 81/82 tour, not the standard bass he went back too using for the Synchronicity tour.
What are you talking about? The bass sounds phat as hell.

Gaelan. Stewart is way off? Are you kidding me?
First answer, no. Second answer, yes, the dry humor must've flown over your head Highlifer...er Highlighted/Frank or whatever.
Alejandro Moreno You might laugh several years later one day while driving in your refurbished Trans Am to kick off your retirement.
@@frankhoward7645 Yes.
