Yea they are very similar characters. Idris Elba was originally casted as Deadshot but James Gunn thinks they might use Will Smith back in Suicide Squad in the future.
James Gunn THE Suicide Squad was definitely WORSE than David Ayers. Of course, Gunn had to kill off a bunch of characters for the sake of gratuitous violence. Let him stick to Marvel movies. The coming DCU will be a slow moving disaster that will reach critical velocity when his first Superman movie hits the big screen.
