DW is big dumb and won’t let us replay the story to mess around and so has forced people to make new accounts to do that instead of bothering to update their game in valuable ways
He really isn't hard by today's standards. Just an 800k HP boss without break bars who NPs every other turn. But he was a monster when Camelot released since back then we simply didn't have any of the OP supports we have now (Merlin wasn't even out at that point) and people weren't really bothering to max out a lot of their servants. Unless you happened to have a properly invested lineup of Archers (or a maxed out Cu Alter) this fight was complete BS because winning the DPS race was just so hard with the tools available. Herc couldn't really deal with either him because back then we did not have access to DoT clear CCs. That whole situation wasn't made better by the fact that people simply did not expect such a massive spike in difficulty. The previous story chapter could easily be cleared with lvl 60ish servants. Going up against Gawain back then was the equivalent of trying to fight the Pokemon League with a team of lvl 30s for most players.
@@nineflames2863 ahhh, so everyone talking about Gawain were the OGs, makes sense. But I do agree that the difficulty spike in Camelot was insane. I literally lost the very first fight in Camelot against the 2 Eyeball monsters even though I had a Level 70 Achillies and Karna.
It was mostly difficult back in the day bc of the huge difference in difficulty between the first five singularities and Camelot in general, also there werent that many supports in the game back then, no command codes and other helpful things they added to the game.

I destroyed him with Achillies, the support Ishtar with Hot Sand CE and Kotaro and other servants.
