You have such a unique take on cozy-this was fun to listen to. Isn’t the BBW amber GREAT? It’s so funny how different our noses can be though… typically when someone calls a perfume animalic or raunchy, all I smell is a warm yummy hug but Bal a Versailles, to my nose, had the most post-coitus smell ever! I need to try it again on a cold walk. Thanks for sharing your awesome collection + intel.
This has been my favorite video of yours. I love cozy but non-gourmand scents. I had no idea Curve Crush was a warm fragrance so I'm def going to pick that up and the Sexy Amber. My Mom wore the original Imari growing up and she always smelled great. I'd like to pick a bottle up for nostalgia's sake. Pacifica Silver Moon, Philosophy's Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere, Clean Reserve Skin, B&B Works Snowflakes & Cashmere, VS Bare and Bare Rose are very comforting to me as well.
Cozy to me is like a 2hour long, epsom salt bath & then climbing into fresh, clean sheets. I love that nice, relaxed, clean feeling. Elements Edition, Pearl, has been my go-to sleep perfume. I've bought 2 backups. Bougiest $16 I've ever spent lol. 💅
I have been wearing Nebras by Lataffa. I am loving it and getting tons of compliments. It smells MUCH better than the Billy Eilish version. It's a super cozy fragrance.
Love your picks! These are the ones I have and love 💗 Tabu- Coca-Cola Covet-semi sweet chocolate Love-sweet black coffee Sexy Amber-sweet sandalwood Bal A Versailles- if SHALIMAR and Ciara had a baby Naked Fantasy- cupcake with fruity powdered sugar Hidden Fantasy-candied Christmas oranges I have not experienced Khamrah, but I love ❤️ Khamrah Qahwa !!
It always amuses me when someone reviews Bal a Versailles because it was my mom’s signature scent in the 70s when I was very young. She was very Catholic and conservative and wore it to church every Sunday. It blended well with my dad’s ARAMIS cologne. So to me it’s not raunchy at all, just embodies a motherly odor. She did a lot of cooking, so it probably stood up to any food scents she picked up. I have small vintage bottles of both scents to remind me of them now that they’ve passed on. Just as amusing, I was with her in the 80s when she found a bottle of Habanita in an antique mall and was so excited to find her favorite perfume pre-motherhood, and that one is always reviewed as somewhat skanky as well. She wore it well for the last decades of her life, conservative to the end. 😆
What a great collection of cozies :) Vanilla Romance is a great new offering from BBW, it's a dupe for PdM Althair - very close indeed and very close to another Althair dupe, Fragrance World Liquid Brun. Liquid Brun is really the best value as it's way cheaper and performs much better than Vanilla Romance for the price, but VR is still very good. I have always loved Bal a Versailles, and an interesting thing about this fragrance is that it was made into several different strengths (edt, edp, parfum and maybe a cologne??) and they were made to be worn together at the same time to give a complete version of the fragrance. The ultimate layering combo, that's how it was marketed back then. I've got all of the iterations and I do wear them all together on occasion. People like to say that it's skanky because of the musk and civet, it had a "reputation". So did Tabu but I think Tabu is not very skanky at all, it does as you say, remind me of like root beer?? It is great layered with other fragrances like Shalimar and Fancy and even Bal a Versailles, other rich vanilla's or ambers or orange citrus - it's very versatile. I love BS Fantasy's too - I don't think they are juvenile. I wear them and I'm old 😄 I like Naked Fantasy, the osmanthus is really good in it to me. I like Hidden Fantasy as well, but it's doesn't last long on my skin at all. I also adore Khamrah, but I love that type of notes profile in a fragrance, the spicy gourmands. Khamrah is said to be a dupe for HoOud Dates Delight rather than Angel's Share. I've not tried the Initio. Have you tried Khamrah Qahwa yet? I love that one too!! It's especially amazing layered with a coffee fragrance, really good. This is my favorite time of the year when I can wear all of these lovely fragrances!!!
I haven’t tried Qahwa yet but I’m thinking about it. Interesting info about layering different strengths of BAV, maybe I’ll buy a small bottle of the parfum.
I'm really enjoying Kamrah Qahwa, which has a coffee note. It smells like apple pie with coffee - so comforting! Also wearing Clinique's Cocoa and Cashmere. I only wish it had better performance but it is a comforting bedtime scent.
Congrats on your new vacuum! I think that's a great Black Friday find. :) I personally bought nothing. But I already availed myself of Walmart clothing clearance and will likely do so again in December. The cotton Free Assembly clothing goes down wonderfully at the end of each season and is of excellent quality. For perfume, my recommendation for cozy is: Barakkat Gentle Gold by Fragrance World! Naturally, that's a dupe of a Bakarrat scent. Delicious vanilla with a hint of spice and everything nice!
BBW Van.Rom. maybe it is similar to Burberry Goddess for me this is quiet woody vanilla, but maybe without the other note you mentioned. Good video. Greetings😉💚
I picked up Tabu a couple of weeks ago from Walmart for $14.99 for the 2.3 oz and on first spray out of the box it immediately reminded me of the reformulated Muglers Angel.
Imo Calvin Klein obsession is a cozy perfume. I like to wear it sometimes on cold nights. I don't wear it away from the house, feel like it might be to assertive for the general public
Diamonds and Rubies is also a cozy scent. I agree about Sexy Amber; it is one of my favorites! I think SV Love smells like a light version of Black Opium, and Sofia smells like BBW's Into the Night. It is very cozy, though, because it isn't as strong as Black Opium.
Hi Corina! I fell very hard for Vanilla Romance! 😅 I bought every item in the body care line and the perfume. The body spray is as good as the perfume which does not last much longer on my skin.
Hi Corinna!!!! Fun video!😁😁😁 I think that Imari Elixir is not available from Avon anymore. Although they do seem to discontinue some stuff just to bring it back again. I wonder how many flankers they have of Imari that have come and gone over the years?! I love the origin story of Tabu and how the company Dana, instructed the perfumer to make a perfume for a 'lady of the night'. LOL!
I purchased that Jessica Parker Covet ....very very very different....I had to throw it away immediately..( not give away ) it was that bad ...the chocolate and lavender notes were not working me ❤....I agree about the Love perfume...
Hi Corina! I didn’t care for Tabu for a long time until one day I put it on with a patchouli oil layered underneath it. Then I couldn’t get enough of it! I’m 22 and I proudly wear Tabu so I think it could totally make a comeback. 😊❤
I have seen Vanilla Romance compared to Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere and also MAC Crème d’Nude. I don’t love any of those so perhaps they are onto something
I don't see Vanilla Romance as anything like FC Warm Cashmere or Creme d'Nude. It's a dupe for PdM Althair and it's very similar to that and the other Althair dupe Liquid Brun.
In the Philippines, ylang-ylang is pronounced ee-lang ee-lang and spelled ilang-ilang so I've always been confused if you pronounce it the same way in English, say lang-lang, or uh-lang uh-lang like people now do. I suppose the answer is pronounce it any way you like. 😂😂😂
People can't just go around pronouncing words any old way they choose. Well, I guess they can but it reflects that they choose not to use a dictionary or encyclopedia. That's why dictionaries were created in the first place...to standardize pronunciation and spelling.
@@joannathesinger770 Aren’t you bitter? Of course they can, just as you go around spreading nonsense and using two spaces after a full stop while leaving no space after an ellipsis. Please ensure your punctuation, pronunciation, and grammar are correct before passing judgment on others.
@@joannathesinger770 but which dictionary are you gonna use? The English version for Americans or the version that Philippines use or the version that the British use?
Just chiming in on the ylang-ylang pronounciation - I think you are correct. Until perfume videos became huge, I’d only ever heard it pronounced “lang-lang”. Back in the late 90’s I worked with an herbal practitioner who also did a lot with essential oils, and that’s how she said it. Then in 2008, while finishing up my nursing degree, we had classes on nurses certified (not sure how, but they had special training) in herbs and EO’s - they pronounced it that same way. I think it’s the phenomenon of when you hear it pronounced incorrectly often enough, it becomes your norm. Like the word “epitome”... I hear you tubers pronounce it “ep-ih-toe-mm” all the time 😬
@@KurtWickham different regions pronounce things differently. In the US, at least until recently, we pronounced it “lang-lang”. It happens 🤷🏽♀ Brits pronounce the “h” in the word “herb”, Yanks don’t.
@@katiejon17 I think that's because people just don't know how to pronounce the "y" in front of "ylang" - similar to the way they ignore or are dumbfounded by other "y" beginning words like ytterbium or yttrium or Yggdrasil
You mispronounce words in every single video...not just yang ylang. In the 1970's, it was clearly pronounced "ee-lang ee-lang". There are archived fragrance commercials pronouncing it that way. Feel free to look it up.. The pronunciation in the dictionary clearly pronounces it "ee-lang ee-lang", so WHAT experience on your resume makes you MORE of an expert on pronunciation than thousands of lexicologists the world over, all with Master's and PhD's in word derivation and pronunciation that clearly disagree with you??? We'll wait...
Tabu!!! My sister had a bright ideas to buy a bottle since she loved this in high school!!! NOOOOO!!! This is horrible and we laughed so hard because it was an instant scrubber!!! Wow. I cannot believe we wore this in the 80’s!!!! 😂 atrocious skanky smell.

Another scent similar to ylang ylang is the scent of the tropical flower called champaka - which is the major scent in Jean Patou's old perfume "Joy"
I have several on your list but love Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker. I like it better than Lovely which more people talk about.

Curve Connect in the purple bottle is still a long standing favorite of mine. Unlike anything else I own. I think it's sexy. 💜
